Full disclosure, I haven't watched this yet but I will tomorrow. However, I just finished Jinger's book this evening and am so very grateful for it! My husband and I and our three sons came out from Mormonism 7 years ago. I related so much to Jinger's story of disentanglement and saw a lot of my own journey in it. Several times when reading the book I just burst into tears and had to stop and praise God. I saw so many of our family and friends leave 'The Church' and left God entirely. However, we left and found truth - the true God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. I remember telling God I just wanted truth. I knew I had not been taught correctly but felt like there was bits of truth mingled through all the 'philosophies of men' I had been taught all my life. So much I couldn't tell where the truth stopped and lies begin (and vice versa). Jinger's story her mother-in-law told her at the end of the book describes this so well.
Anyway, at the beginning of our journey out of Mormonism, I remember praying/begging God to just show me the truth. I felt him ask me what beliefs I was willing to give up. I told him, immediately, 'Everything. I'll give up everything because I don't know if any of it is true and I just want the truth. However, the only thing I know is that Jesus is my Savior. But, I know I don't even understand what that means!' God, then, in his absolute wisdom and loving kindness began to lead and teach us to the right teachers/books/sermons that taught us to true gospel and his true nature. It took a long time but he led us little by little. I remember when I finally began to understand The Trinity and was just so amazed at how much 'bigger' God is than I ever imagined. Praise god for his loving gospel and praise be to Jesus always for saving our souls.
Thank you, Jinger, for your dedication and courage in writing this book.

Amazing young Christian woman! Fantastic book! Great interview! Jinger's journey will continue. Praying that her siblings get to read her book, find Christ and leave the IBLP. Prayers for Jinger and Jeremy as they grow together in Christ, but also as they deal with the triumphs and losses that most certainly will come, dealing with family members who still cling to Bill Gothard's lies. May God grant them peace, courage and strength.

Jinger & Jeremy, I'm surprised Jim Bob let you marry each other because he wasn't part of basic life. Can you please explain.

I’ve watched this program on my TV using the RUclips. Very interesting info I’ll say! I really wanna find the email that is mentioned but for some odd reason I’m having trouble getting anywhere with making a connection with them. Please if someone else has had success with reaching them I’d appreciate getting help connecting with/to them. Thank you 🙏 Much appreciated.

To understand the beauty of Jesus is to understand that we've sinned against a holy God who will by no means clear the guilty. We broke God's laws but Jesus paid the fine in full for those who repent and believe. No one does good, not even one. All our righteous acts are filthy rags before God. We need His mercy and when the kindness of God leads us to repentance then we will see the beauty in Jesus.

This way of life does not prepare kids for living in the world. Jinger mentioned in her book that she was afraid to talk to other people. I can see why all the people that she had really interacted with were people who were in the same system that she was in. How are you supposed to learn to deal with others when all the people that you have had in your life have been people who think and live the exact same way that you do.
