- Shadow of the Ninja - Reborn is crafted by the original team behind the classic 1990 NES game "Shadow of the Ninja", also known as "Blue Shadow". This game supports cooperative multiplayer mode, featuring two new protagonists, Hayate and Kaede, with redesigned appearances. All levels, scenes, and enemies have been redrawn. The game will be released on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series, Switch, and PC platforms in Asian on August 29th.

I love how they incorporated contents from Ninja Gaiden Shadow because that game was also developed by Natsume.
Who at the marketing team thought that was 16 bit style!? That thar is some 32 bit Saturn/PS1 goodness, give your team some more credit! Way more pixel economy to maintain in the art.

@Filtersloth Well, if we're going in that direction, the Neo Geo had 2 processors for that "24 bit" look.
I came here to say it looks more like 32bit. But it definitely looks great!
It's the same team that programmed Pocky & Rocky: Reshrined lam, it's good ol' Japanese hand drawn art. That's the way it should be, which Sega found out the hard way with Sonic Superstars. Claiming that "2D pixels are a thing of the past" another brilliant move by them, which is no surprise. And yes, I own a Sega Saturn. Still the best system ever made, at least in my opinion

Me and my older sister used to play this game a lot back in the day (along with Super C and Super Mario Bros 3). Never expected this game to make a comeback.

Very happy to hear this! I do miss the heavy bass line though. Pretty much got the chibi treatment. Not my preference, I liked the harder edge of the original; but nonetheless great news!

Game looks awesome. The marketing text is bad. It's like saying "It took us 34 years to make the SNES sequel to our NES game". That's made even worse considering the game's visuals and audio aren't something the SNES is really capable of doing.
I loved the nes one because it was not bright and colourful like other these types of games
It's on switch online and that's also 2 player. I'll probably put this on hold if I don't see any other modes as the games aren't really long. At least there's a physical and collector's edition if you wanna collect a copy.

Remember folks it's been 34 yrs since this game appeared on the nes ,so the snes N64 Wii and switch consoles somehow could have never got this remake,heck the Wii and switch had the hardware ages ago ,there is no reason it takes you 34 yrs to do a remake of a game make in 1994!

WOW , This looks AMAZING.
I love this game on the NES, personally I still think the original is more charming, but this one is beautiful, but it's not how I would imagine the game in 16 bits, personally I think it would be cooler hand-drawn in a comic book style with hard shadows. But this is me being annoying, it's incredible remake

That's why these kind of projects shouldn't be given to kids with no knowledge and without adult supervision, no wonder they fucked it up so bad, they don't take things seriously and think everything should be like their saturday morning, happy-ass cal-arts cartoons. The original all the way, is better in everything taking in account the year and technical limitations.
Except it's the same team or veterans who already worked with the original game, even the same illustrator who did it.
@@ronaldzamora8850 I highly doubt it, even when the steam page says so, i don't think they like this kind of kiddy crap. They maybe are involved in some way or another but the artists (no mention of them in the steam page) must be some cal-arts fan or reject, those drawings are awful.
But, if you enjoy it and people like it, is their deal, not complaining about useless things.

This is how games should be made, not forcing agendas. Like putting transgender pronouns in starfield, or gay pride flags in call of duty. And exactly why I've been sticking to Japanese developed games only, minus that crap Square pulled censoring FF7 Rebirth. This is how games were made when I was gaming in the 90's, that's Sega Saturn level of quality right there.
there was a Kage game for NES( one of my favs) and there was a Shadow of the ninja game(better than contra). and another called Kabuki quantum fighter but anyways. which game is this a reboot of? kage or Sotn?

While I loved the idea of my first ever NES game getting a remake, they really messed up the atmosphere and tone of the original game with that chibi cutesy design, its like making a blade runner remake but the city is gonna be like the one in mirror's edge, totally off the mark, still gonna play it tough, nostagia is a bitch...
