Andy Murray imo is the most underrated tennis player in History because of the big 3 impact. He made it to a grand slam semi final 21 times. He won only 11/21 semis, 8/10 of his semi final losses were to the big 3. So he still made it to the grand slam final 11 times. He won only 3/11 slam finals, all 8 losses were to the big 3. So out of 21 semis, he went on to get 3 grand slams and lost 16 to the big 3.
Pete Sampras who won 14 Grand Slams had a career win percentage of 77.4%.
Andy Murray who only won 3 grand slams has a career win percentage of 75.4% while competing with the big 3.
He was world number 1 for 41 weeks.
He was at the time the first British man to win a grand slam in 75years.
In a 4 year stretch he made it to 18grand slam quater finals in a row.
He finished the calendar year as the 4th best player in the world behind the big three for 4 years in a row.
Would had been interesting to see Andy Murrays career without the big 3.
Don't forget his 2012 Olympic Gold Medal that he defeated Novak and Roger for.
This is amazing job, thanks brother
More like it would've been interesting to see Murray without injury especially in the last 3-4 years with Novak dominant
Without the big 3, especially Novak, im not sure Andy actually would have won many more grand slams. They raised his game big time.
he is not underrated, he was part of the big 4, before...after the big 3 he is the best tennis player in the last 15 years.
What was obvious this match was his speed and power. I was shook. Reminded me of the Murray without injury. I hope he goes far. This match was nail biting. It looks like he's enjoying himself too.
He is still an amazing player. Unfortunately he needs to put in too much energy in the first rounds now to be able to reach another final.
People forget that Andy was at the top of the game when the injuries ruined his career. He would definitely be playing at a similar level to Novak and Rafa without that hip injury and surgery.
Hips don’t lie. He got pushed to his limits by these two and his defensive style caused him injuries.
That's true, defeated Djokovic in final Wimbledon three straight set and Murray was the champ of that final ..
@@dantonkull6491 in my opinion, passing Djokovic to become number one was what broke his body. He was never on the level of those guys and had to play much harder to keep up, hence the hip
I didn't forget I know how great Andy is
He did well against them! but he only reached #1 by overplaying during that 2016-17 period when all the Big 3 had injury problems. It wasn't worth it for someone who loves tennis more than history books. He was like a "lame duck #1" while Roger and Rafa dominated 2017. Still, he did make it a true Big 4 derby during 2012-13: not even the great Stan the Man could hang with the Big 3 as equally as Andy did when he replaced his mind with Lendl's :)
The fact that Andy is still playing like this at the top level against a 26 years old top 20 player demonstrates more about his grit and resilience than any trophy could.
I'm really amazed on how Andy managed to play tennis at high level despite of his situation
Matteo handled that tough loss well. Very classy from the Italian 💫
Andy showed his brilliance yet again. He trains very hard, so never count him out. 🙌🏴🎉
WHAT AN INSPIRATION. THIS IS JUST A NEVER GIVE UP ATTITUDE. THAT'S WHY I LOVE ANDY MURRAY. AT 35. SIMPLY AMAZING.
THIS was a classic! I lost a lot of potential sleep (East Coast U.S.A) watching this game but, as a tennis fan, it was well worth it.
Agreed!
Well worth it
Sometimes you gotta do it - for the love of the game - you can catch up this weekend!!
Imagine watching any international sport while living in Australia hahah we know how you feel
Andy is looking like he’s in good shape! Could be a huge year for him
Berrettini you just can't only throw massive forehands against one of the best strategic players in history...
Berrettini probably should have won - but he underestimated Murray and trying to blast your way to victory with a big serve and forehand won't get it done. Murray played great for sure though
And Murray is still going what a come back in the second round
ANDY!!!! He may have the knees and hip socket pieced together from a 1972 Buick Skylark. But he's got the heart of a water buffalo. And that's saying a lot. So happy for Murray.
🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

An amazing performance by an absolute legend
Happy to see him on the tour again✌️
You left out Berrettini's matchpoint at 5-4 in the 5th?!?
Berrettini may have lost but the effort and passion he put in every shot when he was loosing was magical.
Lol, like the nextgen frauds have any passion. All the passion in this match came from Murray alone. Berrettini is nothing.
@@ryoshusuke2108 bruh stop being so toxic. OP didn’t even mention Murray in his post.
Dude he sucked. He had errors coming out his ass
@@ryoshusuke2108 dude gets off on murray and nadal screams I see
@@robinsoncruise2228 Nah, I get off to Sharapova and Bouchard. You get off to Berretiny and all the other nextgen trash.
Another one of the great generation that keeps showing their high level. Great game Andy!!!!!
@Australian Open TV, could you please put both players photos instead of the one who has won?
Great match and also the highlights as always from Australian Open 👏
Fun fact: on top of the amazement you saw from Andy, he also saved a match point in the 5th 😍.
Vintage Andy 👌
after this inspiring performance I just hope ol Andy can recover physically for the next match
Almost 5-hours with almost 10 long years younger than guy STILL able to keep up with is outstanding and amazing. Excellent shape Andy!
So happy for Muzza! Hope he goes deep in this year's tournament. And to continue in this form throughout this season! 👏🏻
There were parts of this match where I thought we were watching 2012/2013 Murray. Easily the best we’ve seen of him in a while
same. i watched his first rounds 2017 AO in comparison and this was not a big difference to when he was nb1
Also, what kind of highlight real is this without showing Beretinni’s insane miss on mp?
Tennis is without a doubt the most challenging game there is.
Que partidazos se están viendo en este abierto de Australia 🔝
What a joy it is to see Sir Andy Murray playing like this.
Bravo, Boys!!! What a match!!!👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Congrats to Murray. His skill is still there to display as all needed to bring him back to his previous ranking is his health n stamina. It is not easy to beat Berrettini on his fav surface even for any of Top 5 players.
Thank you AO for bringing Extended Highlights. You're amazing.
Sir Andy Murray has one of the best running forehand! Nice game with Berrettini!
When they shake hands berretini looks like "men you are old AND going to loose in 2nd round, Let the youngest play " 🤣🤣🤣
Wonderful battle. Suspenseful till the end.
He’s just fantastic to watch never gives up a true warrior,he was the world no1 a 3slam winner,2 Olympic golds, been in so many slam finals, and still hungry for more brilliant
What a match! Really hoping Andy can make it far. You can tell how hard he's worked over the off season. Dude's in amazing shape!
Wow Andy impressed everyone N improved quite a bit! Beating 13 seed is truly an excellent and exciting achievement indeed and congratulations Andy and very well done and deserved victory! USA
Insane match!!!
Andy maravilhoso 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Andy is back playing at top 5 level. If he doesn't slow down he could go well into this tournament.
I totally agree and if he could just get his ranking up high enough he wouldn't be facing top seeds in the first few rounds of tournaments which takes too much out of him
Emoción desde la primera ronda
the most epic round 1 match since murray-tsitsipas US open 2021
Great fifth set win Andy that was incredible! ..🇬🇧🎾👏🏻
Incredible game
Great 1st-round match. I'm pleasantly surprised that Murray can still play at this level. Berrittini played well too.
Nice to see Murray playing well..I hope he does well and possibly makes the final.
lol
Partido épico.
What a match
How did Berrettini miss that backhand on match point at 5-4 in the 5th? He had the entire court since Murray was committed to the sideline. Unbelievable miss by Matteo. He drops out of the top 20 since lost 720 points. Superb match by Murray who is an inspiration to watch because he plays for the love of the game and competition.
Like a final!
Great match, Murray is a genuis.
Amazing
Increible partido berretini igual jugo bien
Andy Murray, what a beauty!!! Lets go deep in AO2023 Murray, show what hard work and determination can accomplish.
X rays came back and the Andy Murray has the dog in him 😤
Very impressive win
I watched this match from start to finish. My conclusion: Murray is the only one with the experience and scrappiness to make it to the final and defeat Djokovick. I don't think any of the new players - Ruud, Auger-Allisime (sp), Fritz, Tiafoe - can beat him. Korda scored a set from Novak in Adeliade and Novak went nuts on court lol. However, I don't think he can do it either. Murray is the dude for the job, if he can make it to the final. Also, Nadal in his current form definitely can't do it. He got lucky with Draper b/c Draper experienced cramping.
Murray can meet Djokovic in semifinal
U are deluded if u think murray had much of a chance against djokovic if he even gets to the semis that is, which would be a huge achievement for andy by itself.
Xd
Korda had match point. The only way to really beat Djokovic is to hit him off the court, like Wawrinka or Kyrgios have done. Murray lacks the sheer power and shotmaking to beat an in-form Djokovic
I don't think Murray has the physical reserves to get to the final, especially not if he's playing a lot of five setters. But I'd love to see him go deep at the AO one last time. It must the the tournament he'd love to win the most, having reached (and lost) five finals.
Inspirational.
Andy Murray is back🔥❤️
this match shoulda been a QF or SF match but we got it early
Yet 6 months ago Berrettini was hitting like he was unbeatable. The ATP beyond Djokovic and Nadal is so confused.
Very nice match
I'd appreciate if Australia Open could create extended highlights for every games, not just 1 or 2 matches with big names. GS are the pinnacle of our sports and due to copyright restriction, I am not able to follow matches live.
Yay Andy! Hope he makes a deep run! It sucks this had to be a first round match.
For the first time since his injury, the old Murray reappeared. The guy that even the greatest players hated to play cause he was the master of defense. Ofc he will never be what he once was but his level last night was incredible. His offense is much better than it used to be. Berrettini is a really good player who has had a lot of sucess in the last couple years. Hopefully Sir Andy recovers well and can make a decent run. Would love to see him get a shot at Novak.
Holy crap, I am by no means a Murray fan but that was pretty amazing given his age and injury injury history.
Tremendo partido
Wonderful ^^
Im about to cry
What a beautiful smile of Matteo in defeat
Don't know what Berrettini was thinking when all he had was a simple backhand to play back into court for the match ! Something a young kid could do blind folded. Unbelievable !
YES!!! Andy 😭
What a true Scottsman, a warrior is Sir Andy Murray.
God i hope he keeps playing well at the Aussie open.
What a true champion, coming back from hip surgery.
I love watching tennis and I love the way he plays.
I have been a tennis fanatic for 35 years and I see in Sir Andy Murray a man with balls and brain.
... and 5 finals losses at the AO. I like the guy, but he keeps swearing ... just a gutter attitude. Sir? my a$$
Where is the match point for Berretini? Who does this summaries?!
FIRST TIME, SINCE RETURN HE BEAT ONE OF THE BEST !!! KEEP GOING, HAS TOO MUCH TO SHOW!!
Incredible Murray...
who were the other 2 GS SF losses to?
Hope he goes far
Highlight reel without the saved MP in it? C'mon you guys can do better.
Good game
Great action Andy
Such a beast!!!! Let's go Andy!
Glad to see Andy back to form. For a while years back it was Roger, Nadal, Novak, and Andy
The ETERNAL warrior!...Sir AM
that last point tho lol ....
I still remember how I grow up watching the big 4s always facing each other late in the tournament, I’m glad I get to witness Murray’s prime in Wimbledon, would’ve been one of the greats if no injuries happened
big 3 and andy the randy potty mouth dandy small #4
Love Andy so much…still my idol
Fantastic Andy! Thankfully the forehand's a bit flatter this year too.
Can we stop ruining the result with the screen capture
Great match but an unfortunate matchup for the opening round.
Berrettini should learn how to slide like Steffi Graf. When he used slide, he lost the points 😂😂😂
Its nice to see Murray back to beating guys he would have brushed off in his prime
They don't even show the most important point of the match - Berrettini's match point, where he netted a sitter backhand from the service line, in what was undoubtedly one of the worst misses in tennis history.
Wait how could you not how the match point that Andy saved??
They didn't show the point where Berrettini had a match point.
you missed a mp for berrettini
About ten minutes short of a 5 hour battle. Taking out last year's semi finalist. Why would he retire now ??
Andys got nothing to prove anymore just happy to see him play
Andy has heart!!! Let’s go!!
