Nadal is relentlessly consistent against the slice and will keep pummeling the corner until he gets a short ball and then hits a winner in either direction (as Federer and everyone on tour has well learned for last 15 years). Nadal is just a terrible matchup against Berritini. Novak, Andy, Medvedev and Thiem are a few of only righties with sufficiently good backhands to even the odds against Nadal's forehand.
