    It is so obvious that most of the new-gen players are not as skilled as the big 3. Here, an old and near retirement Rafa clearly outmaneuvered Berrettini. Rafa is clearly not as quick as he used to be but simply outplayed all of his younger opponents. My bet in on Rafa to capture his 2022 Assie GS title. The only concern is that Rafa is hurt and being a great sportsman, Rafa always keeps it to himself. Rafa deserves to be the GS King.

    Man what does Berrettini work on in practice. If I was his coach we're literally only hitting backhands. Backhands on the run, slices, etc. Its just ridiculous how many errors he was making off that wing in the first two sets. With the roof closed the ball moves slower and nadal took advantage of that just by hitting it to berrettini's backhand. Now with the slower conditions, what is berrettini supposed to do when he has to hit backhands? It's not like hes going to make 5 backhands in a row like medvedev or rip backhands up the line consistently. This is a horrible matchup for berrettini. He has to figure out how to beat these top guys now. He can't even beat zverev or tsitsipas let alone the big 3 and Medvedev.

    Here’s an old tennis adage, after the serve it comes down to skill. Nadal has better tennis skills than Berrentini and at the age of 34 in better overall physical condition. Don’t count Nadal out of this final!! He wants to win that 21st slam really bad.

  • @kenzieaponte7022

    I think the arc we all want is for Rafa to win one more Australian this year, Novak to get his third French, and Roger to get his last Wimbledon, then Medvedev can win the US Open again, they can all retire at the same time, and the tennis world will be in harmony for the rest of time.

    • @funnyduck4568

    Rafa looks great the whole tournament, hopefully it’ll be enough to take out Medvedev. 21 slams would put him at the front of the goat debate between him and Novak.

    • @nicolegabriel5928
      @nicolegabriel5928 2 года назад

      I don't care about the GOAT debate! I just Rafa to win another AO as I feel this GS has eluded him enough! I don't think even he thought he would make it this far so the most he can do is give it his best shot and win given that he is not even 100% and not the favorite!

  • @rupeshkaushal2888
    @rupeshkaushal2888 2 года назад +3

    I don’t think he can beat medevdev right now, I don’t think anyone can probably Federer can because of the different style of play, short slice bring him forward and then hit the winner, I just think med, nadal and djoker has very similar play style and Rafa is 35 and is not gonna chase ballad like he used to so I am predicting straight sets victory, I am a Rafa fan but I am being realistic.

      Hardly unstoppable. He actually is playing pretty mediocre ball. Shapo left early and Berrettini forgot he had a match that night. Nadal looks very beatable. Alex De Minaur would have beaten Nadal in the quarters and anyone w half a heart wouldve went 5 w Nadal in the semis. He looks light years from imperious. Meddy is going to show him another level. What were they supposed to say to him? "Get better at hitting consistent, shoulder-high topspin backhands? Oh, you have 2 days to improve a shot that is not your strength?" Nadal's lefty forehand is OP against Berritini's weaker backhand. It was clear that the plan was to hit fewer slice BHs than normal (Berritiini's usual game plan). Nadal is relentlessly consistent against the slice and will keep pummeling the corner until he gets a short ball and then hits a winner in either direction (as Federer and everyone on tour has well learned for last 15 years). Nadal is just a terrible matchup against Berritini. Novak, Andy, Medvedev and Thiem are a few of only righties with sufficiently good backhands to even the odds against Nadal's forehand.
