    I had a single spec of dust somewhere in there, but did only have a screwdriver. Simply opened the lens from the backside and stuck my blower in between. Did the job luckily lol

    Nice video, thank you. I had two of them, the first one was a dust-sucker, the second one, after 7 years is extremely clean... I don't know why, maybe some samples are better sealed than others.

      @diyextravaganza  3 года назад

      maybe they changed the sealing design in between. Cheers.

    how about the rear glass. Is it more delicate to open it ?

    • @diyextravaganza
      @diyextravaganza  11 месяцев назад

      I'd say a bit lens confortable since you have to deal with the electronics and two groups to disassemble, but all depends on what you need to do on the lens. Cheers.

    If there is a bit of fungus in the front element is it easy to clean ?

    • @diyextravaganza
      @diyextravaganza  3 года назад

      if it is just behind the front element, it should be a trivial task, if in between lenses, it would be more difficult. I'm curious, can you join the "lens repair" group in facebook and share a pic?

    How repairable is the lens?

      It depends on what you need to repair. Best.

      @@diyextravaganza how about the replacement of the af motors from another unit?

      @diyextravaganza  5 месяцев назад +1

      @@mscadenn that's some work. Interesting nevertheless.

      I don't trust service centers either. I prefer to repair stuff myself. Cheers.

      I'll do it if I dump into one of these lenses again.
