There has been some open source software like "Kickass Undelete", but it seems it's not supported any more and they probably used some free/public plugins which show doubtful results when you virus-check the installer. Hence I would only recommend to use in a sandbox (Virtual Windows System). Easiest way to use a sandbox is Sandboxie-Plus.
Try a free program called Recuva made by CCleaner. You'll need a Windows computer & a card reader for the micro sd card. It might work with the card still inside the camera though.

Sorry don't have it any more and maybe also different phone. I've only been transferring to my windows pc and was no problem. Maybe try to rename the ending from AVI to MP4 ... In a lot of cases this works
