As soon as I got your notification, I knew I'd heard of Thomas somewhere before, it took me a few minutes but English folk/rock band, Steeleye Span wrote a song with that title back in the late 70s or early 80s. I think it's about Thomas's venture into Faery land with the queen. Beautiful voice, Maddy Prior. Thanks for bringing back some happy memories.

That's lovely to hear. I must look up the song. Thanks for watching.

I believe they took their lyrics from a poem by Walter Scott.

Fantastic video yet again, every time I come on RUclips I go right to your channel, it’s good to see your channel growing and I still read your piece in the advertiser…. Do you have any or have plans for any video about the history/folklore of the glendevon? A few graves in the churchyard of the glendevon church that I’m sure have interesting stories to tell… as a keen angler and hill walker I spend the majority of my free time up the glendevon, heard of a few stories regarding ghosts around the glendevon dungeons! The glendevon is just a special wee place!
Hope you are well and please keep the videos coming!

I visited the church and graveyard a while back as I grew up locally and had never been. I did the story of the Glendevon brownie but I'm sure there's one about cattle being bewitched as well. I've never ventured up to the Dungeons but I saw a video of some urban explorers at it. I always thought it haunted hence why I never went! Thanks again for your support, and for watching.

@@scotlandshistory yeah the church is interesting, I didn’t know till the last time I visited about the tomb that’s a short distance away from the rest of the graves, can’t remember the name but in sure it was for a girl/lady must have been of some importance!… I took a walk up Ben thrush via the wind farm can see round the back of the dungeons doesn’t look very safe structure wise, also had anti vandal paint, barbed wire, CCTV pictures of recent visitors all on the main gate by the road, landowner must want people to stay well clear!
I’m also made aware that there was an old fort at the summit of the down hill, and there is some Bronze Age fort or something of alike up the upper frandy ( upper glendevon reservoir ) that appears along with the farmhouse when the water is low!

@@andrewgibson7666 If memory serves, it was an old broch but don't quote me on that! I admit l like when it's low and you can see the old farm. I wish I'd also seen the old farm buildings and St Serf's Bridge at Castlehill Reservoir. I always called it the Glendevon Reservoir until I was an adult and realised it had a name.

@@scotlandshistory Castlehill certainly deep enough to hide a few structures, I have a photo of now castlehill reservoir before it was a reservoir… the old fort on the summit down hill adds to the interest of the castlehill area, heard somewhere that this was a Pictish fort? But not 100% sure if that’s the case, planning on taken a walk to the summit of the down hill just for a look!
