Interesting and enjoyable video yet again, I always look forward to your take on the people and places of my dear Scotland. Often overlooked in literary circles in Scott's time was another author/ poet named James Hogg. Hogg was a friend of Scott although coming from less privileged background he established himself as writer of short stories and poetry in the style of Scott and Burns. If you enjoy either of these two famous Scottish writers you will love James Hogg (The Ettrick Shepherd) as he was known as. Cheers.
@rattleshakti thank you so much. I've got James Hogg in mind. I visited his statue in the Borders and have copies of some of his work. Thanks again for watching.
@duneideann9241 his work is an acquired taste. He used lots of words where one or two would've sufficed and it can be hard going Thank you so much for watching.

Another really interesting video. I managed to visit Abbotsford House last year. It is a really interesting place to visit and explore.
The house, what you're allowed to see of it, is stunning. Thanks again for watching x
@@scotlandshistory Yeah, I had a good wander around, and absolutely loved it. I loved the gardens as well.
The garden was stunning. It's a place you could keep going back to.

@@scotlandshistory Also I don’t trust anyone that exposes the Scottish Crown Jewels to an English king
They're the oldest crown jewels in the UK which I think makes them extra special.
@@scotlandshistory They certainly are , treacherous man 🏴😡🏴
