Look at Ske7ch from 343, he just takes all the toxicity from the Halo community, never privates his accounts, and either ignores the hate, or doesn't give them the response they want, he's professional, Bakinator and Misty are not.
Until Baskinator, Misty, and Purple Squidgeon are all gone from the discord and fired, not demoted, fired, I don't care how good this game is, I refuse to support it. Purple was the one who made up false sexual abuse allegations against Grummz

Agreed. Spitz made some bad moves. But ultimately, he worked towards making things better, and succeeded at the cost of his job. I don't think people should be condemned for being wrong, I think they should be judged on how they resolve the issue. This man 100% showed that he was in the community's camp with his last act of defiance. It may have been the turning point that let us strike back at Sony.

Spitz banned people more than the other mods and fully supports Baskinator and Purple. Baskinator openly wants to use the PSN excuse to ban people she doesnt like and Purple @ccused grummz of SA. He's trying to spin it like he fell on his sword for the game. Only mod who deserves his spot is Treebeard, the rest need to get gone.

Should be noted that, per him, his sin was the encouraging neg reviews / refunds, not his snarky and nasty interactions with the fan base. And worse, by Baskinator and the one who renamed themselves Byrd (or some such, the one making unsubstantiated sexual assault allegations vs Grummz), have had zero demotions or firings to this point.
"Woke" they fired the wrong damn person. Splitz apologized and suggested review bombing the game. Purple squidgeon should be the one fired for falsely throwing harassment claims at people.

ALL the HD2 CMs suck. You're right that Spitz sucked less than some, but Spitz still deserved this. The rest need to go too.
He changed tune only AFTER realizing we were winning. That's called Self-preservation. It doesn't mean he actually agrees with what he said to win us over.
Actions speak louder than words, but his past words and actions paint a drastically different picture that this ONE incident.

He took accountability for his words and pivoted to support the customers/players. You don't execute people when they come over to your side after they see that their side is in the wrong.

Spitz was the one who told the playerbase to bomb the game so I’m not sure if this was a good decision. Also Spitz wasn’t the one who accused Grummz.

I think that the wrong community manager, Spitz is not the woke one or atleast not the worse one. He the one that told players to protest by giving bad reviews to Helldiver so they can pressure Sony. He probably fired because Aerrowhead didn't want to be sued by Sony because it would have been seen as the company conspiring against Sony to get out of contract obligation and had they kept him it would be saying they approve of what he did. Remember he even mention "Don't worry, Sony don't check discord", so it would look to Sony that people were conspiring behind their back.
This is misinformation, lack of context behind this video, he told people to review bomb the game. The community manager was fired because he told the community to do the review bomb because that's the only way Sony would listen.

The reason he got fired, straight from his mouth is he realized his mistake and layer told people to refundv and leave a negative review in hopes it would give AH leverage with Sony. His firing has nothing to do with banings.

To be honest, spitz did take the side of the community, and he was fired for that. Not the antagonization of the community, not the unwarranted bannings, but help for the communtiy.

There are several CMs that still need the boot. In all of the reporting on this, there has only been mention of a single one that was doing his actual job.

We all have the right to have our own opinion and beliefs. It only becomes a problem when a person thinks their beliefs are the only right ones and then use a position of power to shove their world view on everyone else.

If I remember what I heard correctly, Baskinator did get demoted. I can't remember who said it, since I've been watching a lot of people in relation to the HD2 drama, but I do remember hearing that.
I thought community managers job was to foster the community NOT Destroy & Dismantle the community.

He was fired for telling fans to refund and review bomb so that ArrowHead had more leverage when talking with Sony. Thats why he was fired.
He apologized previously for snapping at fans as he was unaware that PSN was unavailable in most countries. After that, he essentially sacrificed his job to help the community fix this.
Thats actually pretty awesome.
Edit: How was Spitz woke? There are several more aggregious CMs that need negative attention.
Simple, Yellow Flash labeled him that because he wouldn't get views on the topic without labeling him as such. The sad part is that it's working because most of his fanbase is made up of people who only see it through the lens of their side's political bias

I look at it this way: Any CM who engages in attacking the community they are governing should be given their walking papers. They are a poison to the company's image. This applies to *any* type of company. video games, hobby games, tech, sports. Fucking construction. If your PR person runs their mouth in a negative way , as a business you are going to want them gone.

If the Managers think this way then the mods under them do as well, especially if they pick and set up their own staff.

- "journalists" complain about toxic gamers
- company reverses change
- "jounalists" complain about toxic gamers
- turns out the real toxic gamers were harasing and being toxic to the gamers who the "journalists" called toxic.
- company fires toxic people, effectively giving the "jounalists" 2 middle fingers in a row and standing by their community and fans.
I dont play the game, but i am a big fan of how the company does business.
Arrowhead would save a huge ton of money by firing the community managers with the piss poor performance and just have FAITH in their product.

Spitz wasn't the woke CM. He made a mistake, realized he made a mistake, apologized for that mistake and then backed the community which is his job. He had the decency and wherewithal to do the right thing knowing he could lose his job for it.

Is it "burning out the rot" though ? Spitz was one of the less insane ones and was just being a corpo shill before being reprimanded. After (most likely) being chewed out, he told people to leave negative reviews and refund the game to add weight to Arrowheads discussions with Sony. Whereas Bask and that other mod/CM were either actively mocking the playerbase or publishing libelous statements on the "official" HD2 discord. Those are still in.
We completed one major order. More to follow through.
They all should go, but if they only fire Baskinator i'll take that as a win.
