I work at Pradco Outdoor Brands in Fort Smith Arkansas (Rebel lures, Bandit lures, Bobby Garland crappie baits, etc), packaging fishing lures daily. Watching your channel is like a guilty pleasure for me. You do incredible work, and I watch your channel religiously. Keep the awesome content coming my friend. Much love 👊
obscure, eh? how about a cyttomimus that he can try out his color changing paints on? (it's hard to find pics but just trust me they're very color-shifty haha)
@@nuniyoa Trust me, I know, I make obscure deep sea species as 3D models quite often! cyttomimus is an interesting Genus but its really the fish ever (generic), its only 'color-shifty' because its so reflective!
What a great jighead and lure idea. That long ribbon tail and just everything in general is awesome. Great job, well done and thanks for the great video.
Been watching since just after the “silent video days”. I just stumbled across a crazy story from years back.. unless there’s a coincidence, hats off to you, man. Well done.
My fiance introduced me to your channel a couple weeks ago while he's been getting into fishing and lure making and I just wanted to say I am a huge fan!! Pretty much all we've been watching lately lol. Love your personality and your talent!
You’ve inspired me to make lures of my own, they bork well and I use most of the techniques you use but I have no power tools but a drill. I can only dream of one day being as good as you at making baits
Lanternfish! I think a Lanternfish lure could actually be pretty cool! Big eyes, black and silvery body, one or more rows of "lights" down each side... A possible night-fishing lure? Find some images of them in the dark! Cool. Also, as I recall, they do amazing horizontal migrations up and down the water column every day. So maybe a deep-diving lure that hovers? Thanks for the great channel, it's a blast - Pete
I imagined the telescope fish at 4:22 having the same voice as your kid, saying “Well, I’m so hungry….” So cute. 🥹 This looks awesome. As a fellow angler who’s also an artist, I love watching how much your niche art skills improve over time the more you experiment while making weird lures.
I always love when you do a deep sea fish! I study larval fish and we sometimes see dragonfish (Idiacanthus) larvae, which look absolutely absurd. You should check out some photos of those and make a soft plastic imitation 😂
“Extensible” means that their jaws can reach out all funky. Most fish can do that, but it can look really funky on these guys, like with goblin sharks!
That tail makes for a perfect twister tail on a jighead soft bait. Distensible means “can be distended”… and we all seen a largie with a distended belly! 😂😅
Telescope fish looks like a Dr Suess villain. For some reason I thought you were going to make the mold out of aluminum. Good stuff as always. I admire your craftmanship.
We've been hemming and hawing about PPE on this channel for years and when he finally gets hit in the face with something, it's soft clay that can NEVER harden. I swear... You lucky son of...
8:43 I know you probably won’t respond but the way you said “like that” reminded me of Bobby Duke arts. Do you, by chance, also enjoy the master craftsmanship of senior Bobby?
BIN shellac primer needs to be stirred every time. You need denatured alcohol to clean up. It's great for holding back woodstains from tannic acid in fir and dark hardwood like mahogany. Cleanup quickly because it is a brush killer.
Aluminium is king for lead molds, they will heat and stretch and you'll pinch more as you go. Also the lead cryatalizes more than in an aluminium mold.
Not too bad for your first try on the Jig Heads👍 (clamp that mold though, your hands are your money makers) Try some MOLD Max 60 next time, it holds up better.
Nate, you have taught me how to master making lures thank you very much! Was wondering if you could build a lure resembling some kind of electric guitar? Like a Sunburst fender Stratocaster? Question… Will fish eat a Stratocaster? Cheers. Coop.
This WILL catch fish. That action was nice. Just wait. Been a hard couple months of fishing here in kansas where last year I was catching biguns in early December
You should get an underwater case for the GoPro ($50) for underwater shots of the lures. I had a 7 foot pvc pipe that i attached a mic tripod to because it had this Lego hand thing that I could tighten onto it with wire so I could rotate it for getting different angles. Its legs also folded together and could be laid parallel with the pipe for easier transportation. For the GoPro you can get a $15 GoPro mount piece that has a ball joint, put 4 holes into the corners and use the same wire to connect it to the end of the pvc (also with 4 holes) This way you can have some range to plop it into the water from the bank and have it sit up, rotate and adjust the camera to be angled upwards or downwards depending on the shot you want. If you get the right diameter of pvc it’ll also fit into a kayak paddle holder and you can use it to get another POV in the kayak. That parts nice because you can slide it forwards and backwards, rotate it without moving or just take it off easily for underwater shots and battery changes
If you wanna feel dead inside, you shoudl frenchpolish a master/barewoodbait with that shellack, prefebly some kind of flat fish. Had to do it in school, to do it outside of school is just selfharm on another level. But it sure get shiny. xD
Free Idea: Create a scuba channel and pick of all of MB's lost masterpieces
I already live in the same area I just can't figure out his exact fishing spots or I'd be diving by now
Im sure someone recoverd one of MB lures and wanted to give it back but he was told to keep it.
Do that and giveaway the lures or something
20:24 spilled my coffee... Bob Saget!
Attempt #59 of asking for a Payara (vampire fish) lure!
btw this one must be cool indeed

absolutely need some more obscure ocean species! Love seeing what you come up with!

@@sharkingaround ooh cool! what do you make them for? and have you seen darwin's slimehead and the rattail species ventrifossa? absolutely beautiful!
What a great jighead and lure idea. That long ribbon tail and just everything in general is awesome. Great job, well done and thanks for the great video.
You sir are an awesome teacher, an absolute natural!!!!!!!

Gonna have to say you nailed it!!! Looks perfection!!!
A man wh is willing to risk it n try new things after a good amount of forethought......IS Dangerous! I love it! Keep up the boundry pushing!
You’ve inspired me to make lures of my own, they bork well and I use most of the techniques you use but I have no power tools but a drill. I can only dream of one day being as good as you at making baits
Thank you for risking it all time and time again
Nate gives me so many ideas to try over these chili months down south. he also reminds me that I’ve neglected the majority of them. goals & such as.
Great work with the clay in the mold. Attention to detail A ++
Wow that tail action even at super slow mo was fantastic!! Epic bait mold? Dip-n-glo that tail!! ... Entertaining as per usual. Great video.
Time for epic bait to make this and make some jig molds.
Caleb Hammer playing in the background is funny. I do the same thing as I’m working 😂
Interesting idea for the spring make a top water tech deck or surfboard. ONE DAY!!
I’ve never seen one but I have a feeling that when I get to the end, this thing is going to look wild
Caught the live when this idea got dropped, glad I got to see it brought to life! Love the vids!
You are the best RUclipsr ever.
Lanternfish!

16:55 Caleb Hammer Cameo 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Shhhesh! A few live shows and all the sudden you’re David Attenburo.
First time im so early , love the one days keep up the masterpieces. Love from SA🇿🇦

I am hearing some Caleb Hammer in the background! Fellow fan!
Great video! Awesome silicone molds. Thank you sir!
awesome! CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THE SABRETOOTH FISH!
That looks like a great hook for ice fishing in Saskatchewan Canada 🍁
Make lures of Finn and Ros' favorite cartoon characters and then take the family with when you make them o-fish-al.
You inspired me to try to make a large glide bait
That should 100% be a shirt. Just that freaky image and "watch out for the telescope fish, its probably watching you"
Another beautiful creation😊
This bait will rule them all come spring time. Bet
I always love when you do a deep sea fish! I study larval fish and we sometimes see dragonfish (Idiacanthus) larvae, which look absolutely absurd. You should check out some photos of those and make a soft plastic imitation 😂
great video my friend! always look forward to marling baits. thank you brother!
You should dip a wood lure in clear rubber bait material, make a cool texture
Dude I’m loving the extra marine bio facts love it
OMG So cute,Love this!
Another awesome video! Such a cool looking lure!
A barreleye fish would also be pretty neat, could do a clear resin head or something
Ice fishing lures next and maybe ice fishing? Maybe not one days but more cool projects like this one
“Extensible” means that their jaws can reach out all funky. Most fish can do that, but it can look really funky on these guys, like with goblin sharks!
Speaking of, that may be a good potential project if you would like
Golden wolf fish! Looks like a freshwater coelacanth
Now just waiting for epic bait molds to put this one out so we can all make it 🤣
Well you've done it to yourself, you gotta make an all lead lure now 😂 keep up the great work man 😁👍🏻
That's pretty cool looking sir!
You must try an ice Fish this year, especially with like one of your soft plastics or make a ice fishing lure
love your videos! You probably have more fishing lures then fish in my local pond lol.
That tail reminds me of a soft plastic I used to use a lot growing up called the Manns Manipulators.
Top water Hog lure!
Another nice build, amazing action. ;) Is it me or this metallic head makes it looks like the son of an odd fish and a creepy Stephen King Cadillac ?
My son just had a great idea, and he wanted Mr. Marling to make a Axolotl soft plastic.
That tail makes for a perfect twister tail on a jighead soft bait.
Distensible means “can be distended”… and we all seen a largie with a distended belly! 😂😅
Good job!!!
I am HERE for the Marling Baits deep sea era😂
That dragon fish would be awesome
Telescope fish looks like a Dr Suess villain.
For some reason I thought you were going to make the mold out of aluminum. Good stuff as always. I admire your craftmanship.
Ribbon fish lure next they look like silver eels or lion fish
Man Keith finally took that dude out towards the end 😂
We've been hemming and hawing about PPE on this channel for years and when he finally gets hit in the face with something, it's soft clay that can NEVER harden. I swear... You lucky son of...
Perfect thumbnail I might add
3:20 i know some people that look like that 🤔
Basically, that’s what everyone looks like in the Kensington community in Philadelphia.
8:43 I know you probably won’t respond but the way you said “like that” reminded me of Bobby Duke arts. Do you, by chance, also enjoy the master craftsmanship of senior Bobby?
I'm doing my first baits at this moment and now I really, really understand how god gamn good you are 😱
BIN shellac primer needs to be stirred every time. You need denatured alcohol to clean up. It's great for holding back woodstains from tannic acid in fir and dark hardwood like mahogany. Cleanup quickly because it is a brush killer.
There are special heat-resistant silicones to use for that. RTV-silicone and such.
I think the tail could use tabs to make it kick a bit more strongly to create a bit more wobble.
You should try a gulper/pelican eel lure, would be interesting to see what you do with their giant mouth
Ease release 200 works great on silicone to silicone casting
This video is giving off a mad scientist vibe. 😂😂😂
finaly a new video i love your videos 👍🏻👍🏻
Aluminium is king for lead molds, they will heat and stretch and you'll pinch more as you go. Also the lead cryatalizes more than in an aluminium mold.
Keep up the good content mate 👍
You should think about a Loch Ness Monster topwater where the neck sticks out.
Use Mold-Max 60 from smooth-on for high temp lead jig designs. I make custom ice fishing prototypes.
3:40 so relatable
Barrel eye next please. At the same time any video is a good video from you
Not too bad for your first try on the Jig Heads👍 (clamp that mold though, your hands are your money makers) Try some MOLD Max 60 next time, it holds up better.
Please make a northern studfish lure

Could you do a lantern shark they are very cute, and you could use a glow in the dark paint or soft plastic for the belly
Masterful!
Is there gonna be a Christmas themed lure this year? Awesome video, thanks!
Love that you complain about big words, then throw out “cavitation“
Never hurd of ghe fish learned me somethink there propper an keep up the smashing videos come afder Xmas ill join ur pattern an course smashing work
Here I am singing along to mamma mia while you test the action. Then crap myself on the jumpscare
The fact that you're not missing chunks of your fingers is impressive
Those telescope fish are of nightmares 🤯
you should make a hatchet fish lure
I'm thinking maybe a paint shaker might be a good idea
my favorite lureman
If you wanna feel dead inside, you shoudl frenchpolish a master/barewoodbait with that shellack, prefebly some kind of flat fish. Had to do it in school, to do it outside of school is just selfharm on another level. But it sure get shiny. xD
Next bait should be a memberbaiter. Goes with the dingleberry
16:49 I felt personally attacked lol
