The lost lure, the kayak incident,....the curse of the Lucky Lures. Great video.
I'd say it was karma for dragging the fishes acros the sand.
nooooo....... bubble glurp..
Okay, I'm sorry about your misfortunes during this video, but the ending just sent me 🤣 The soundtrack. The deadpan retelling of the event. The hard cuts back to the clip. That was art.
he is an artist, no doubt!
I thought I was the only one, I laughed so hard 🤣🤣
You should definitely email them the clip of their leader breaking and losing the lure. Seems like something that should be covered by some kind of warranty.
Hahaha the " Noooo" killed me 🤣
You are always so calm and reflective. Best episode!
Hey Nate! Glad you got the valet trays! They are mostly used for folks’ EDC. Wallet, keys knife etc. so glad they showed up and had no idea you’d cover them in a video!! So honored. Thank you man!!
You do some really nice work!
@@johnpipe3188 Thank you so much!! Hopefully soon you’ll be seeing me around these parts as well (RUclips) - thanks for the kind words!
Tray looks awesome. Would make a great speed loader / ammo tray for the nightstand. Btw......do people ever think you are that ambulance chaser with the same name ?
Super cool custom tray! I thought it would be great for catching wood shavings. Not the most glamorous use but would have a certain artistry to it. Wood shavings on leather. Seems manly yet crafty
@@JOEX3006 I get calls looking to talk to him all the time! Like...weekly. I don't know how people find my number while looking for him...but it happens a lot. Thanks for the kind words!
If the leader that broke was the one they sent you I would definitely be contacting them about a replacement bait.
A complete masterpiece, not just the baits but the commentary
What an absolute roller coaster of emotions this video brought. I would definitely get in touch with Lucky Lures and see if they'll do right about that lost pike lure since I assume that was a leader that they provided. Who knows, if you go back to that same spot you may get your OG pike lure back!
I'm sorry you lost your new bait. It might be my fault. When you said, "I'm going to fish that bait a lot". I immediately said to myself, "fish it - till you lose it". Bad juju. Sorry Nate. On to the next bait! Oh, I have an early 90's Castaic Trout lure (hard body, they made a soft body also) that I paid around $130.00 for and have never fished. It was so pretty I was always afraid of losing it. I'm going to take it with me to Gull lake this week in the Sierras and fish it. What the hell, you only live once. Cheers.
This channel is more of an emotional rollercoaster than anything on Netflix rn
Recently started baitcasting and have cast off like 5 hard baits. The confidence and bravery to throw such an expensive bait is amazing!! 👏
you're way more chill than i would have been in these circumstances
There are no words to describe the ups and downs of this video. Thanks for making it! Those are some super smooth door hinges.
Lol, "Stickers!" Dude. That was a whole day of strife man. My heart goes out to you.
I cant believe how well he took losing the lure 😂
He edited out all the bad words lol
the time-lapse kayak paddling! your humility. the leader breaking and your composure considering what had just happened. you're pretty inspirational Nate. seriously. thank you!
I imagine someone in the near future holding up a 40-pound muskie that has a beard of broken-off baits, including that Lucky pike.
And now that I imagine that, I'm imagining the bearded muskie telling tales to his grandkids, who gaze at him in wonder. If I were an illustrator, this is where I would start sketching this scene, the school of muskies...
That was an emotional rollercoaster, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Please never stop making these videos.
Few things bring happiness these days, I always look forward to seeing your shenanigans. Have you ever thought of making an Artic Greyling? Lol
Glad it was you this time and not me....though the water is just freeing from the winter ice up here.
The wife and I both cringed when you lost the pike...such a lovely lure
Theres just something so authentically midwestern about this channel❤️
"Measuring a whopping 39 cm and weighing 660 grams this is the biggest trolling lure we created so far.
The tarpon will float at rest and dive to depth while swimming.
The depth it reaches depends on line out and speed and varies between one and aprox three meters.
When the boat stops it will gradually rise to the surface again which is a big advantage when trolling multiple lures above obstacles."
"The Lucky Tarpon will be boxed in our new deluxe smoked pine cases."
So, the lure floats, but while trolling it dives up to 3 meters... interesting
Sorry for your expensive loss...but you took it much better than 99% of your viewers would take it !!! Your reaction and humor is priceless !!!
Hey Marlin love all your videos and been subbed for a couple of years now and always look forward to your next videos. I do have a bait making suggestion for you though if interested in it. Due to it is spawning season and spring time, Large mouth bass hate lizards, so it would be awesome to see you make a top water wake bait lizard with a screwable soft plastic twist tail. I think it would be awesome to see this. Also thanks for everything you do and keep up the amazing videos, sorry for the lose of the pricey lure :"(
I've been watching your videos for almost 2 weeks now from all the way back. I love it.
You are very good at what you do and goofy af but it's amazing that you can laugh at yourself. I haven't found any videos that can beat yours.. it helps you also have a cute pup. Always puts a smile on my son's face when he see the pup.. keep up the amazing work.
I can't decide if I come for the lure craftsmanship or the consistent dry and non-dry humor.
i never understand how heavy line 40+ lb seems so weak sometimes and the 3-10lb line never seems to break sometimes. always great content.
NOOOOOO!!!! , holy crap I spit a mouth full of coffee all over my desk when the voice became real. Marlin your the best thx...
Ouch one seriously expensive day, just imagine what could have happened if you didn't have the LUCKY FISH protecting you! Great to see you unharmed and healthy.
If this man gets a 4K camera, I'm literally only gonna be watching his videos. It's so nice to hear and see how things work. I always have him in the background.
Great gift from my friend JP! Wow! I have caught well on the jointed pike swimbaits
Awesome! I remember my last kayak flip-over…🤣🤣I lost some gear on that experience! Thx for editing that in, instead of out.🙏
Lol, when he found the stickers in the bottom of the case, I almost started crying with laughter. 😂
Greetings from Finland. I have greatly enjoyed watching all your videos over the last year or two. Love your honesty in showing even the unfortunate events and being able to laugh it off.
I need one of those walleye prints. Probably the coolest depiction of a walleye (possibly a zander based on the speckled fin) I've ever seen
You can really hear the fear in that "No!" and I'm here for it
I live near the lucky lures shop, and I have found one of the pike lures in a beached crab trap. Was too far gone to salvage. It’s a nice desk piece now.
What a ride on the rollercoaster of life!
If you make a lure with replaceable fins, may I suggest using drift pins instead of screws with exposed heads that to me look very ghetto. I would think having a drift punch to change out fins would make for a slick design.
I laughed way to hard at the “what are you trying to catch with that thing” joke
Now we need to see you recreate them
Wow, watched most of the video a few days ago, and just came back to watch the last five minutes. Can't believe I almost missed that!
Okay that ending cracked me up, did not expect that.
The long awaited lure review
the chaos in this video makes it so good
I went to college at Ringling and I know Octavio Perez! Awesome to see his work on your channel. Definitely wasn't expecting that :)
Heck yes. That garr glide bait looks great!
That Pike is absolutely stunning!!! 🥹
Loving the regular upload schedule! Thank you for keeping us entertained!
Definitely contact the company. May even send them the footage. If they sent the leader with then they would hopefully stand by replacing the lure. I do have to admit though I did laugh at your misfortunes. Still my favorite channel!
Now everyone needs to send marling a new fishing rod 😂
My first great laugh of the day!! Just when I needed to check my blood pressure!!
I went on a multi-day kayak trip once where I flipped within the first 30 minutes and broke both rods. Found a perfectly good rod and reel at the bottom of the next set of rapids, though, so it wasn't a total loss!
Nate is probably the only person in this world that could lose a $150 dollar bait and not be cursing about it.
Pour one out for Nate fellas due to his bad luck in this video 😂.
Lost a $15 lure today that I've literally caught everything in 2022 on... Your loss being 10x more expensive and irreplaceable makes it feel a bit less harsh. Neither of us actually made the baits, so we're all good, no? Much love man, hope you have a great 2022 season.
Ty for posting even the not so successful videos. Most people would have deleted but you kept it, your awesome
I have a 1 yr old that refuses to sleep he has been asleep for about 2 hrs… i laughed so hard when you said “oh no” and woke him up and it was so worth it im very sorry for laughing but i needed that awesome video thank you
YES, a gar lure I’m so excited to see how it turns out, they are my personal favorite fish!
I usually chuckle when I watch your videos...today I cried.
My favourite video to to date!
Even better than BUTT LURE catastrophe!
Loved it pure king gold 👑
Just saw that leader snap.............My mouth dropped. That hurt me and I didn't even buy it. Looked like a killer swimbait too.
Ouch got to the end, broke an expensive rod, and flipped the yak. Very much Unlucky Lures lol
Man, so sorry that you lost your new bait! And when you rolled that kayak I had flashbacks to one of my videos this year tipping mine over! 🤣
Great video as always, but seeing you tie on that lure on straight braid, without any pike-proof leader has to be the single most insane swimbait-related thing I have ever seen! 😄
Award goes to you sir for being the most calm when losing that beautiful lure... I would have lost it bro!
Still laughing 24 hours after you posted...keep up the great work. Its only funny because that type of stuff happens to me everyday.
WELCOME to the club...
Omggg the gar looks great Thank you for taking on the challenge
"somewhat embarrassed to be seen with the lure that we are fishing with" 🤣 that thing is a monster!
I cried a little bit when that fish broke you off. Thanks for another amazing video!
Oh my goodness you make me laugh so much! Sorry you lost your bait! I think I would of cried for real. Thank goodness you weren't injured when your kayak tipped. Still a super fun video. Looking forward to the next video.
Seeing you lose that pike lure just hurt man. I would have been heartbroken. You handled that like a champ 😂
I've lost fish due to leaders with non-metal crimps too. Learned the hard way, but not with 100$+ lures. Now I check to make sure all leaders are crimped with metal before I buy them. Highly Recommend Inhaler steel multi-strand leaders & Musky Innovations Bulldawg Rods.
its weird i enjoy your vids when its posted each week , love your vids
During the unboxing I honestly thought I like Marling Baits better, now I want that gar lure. Like others said, ask for a replacement, that leader was sub standard. As always excellent video. Thanks
You don't have to make lures to enjoy this content, what a great channel
and that is one of the resons i use FC leaders, i make my own and use knots instead of wirecrimps, 0,9-1mm fc leaders for big tothy fish. i have never had one fail for me!
Lmao 😂😂😂😂😂😂 I couldn't stop laughing when your kayak flipped over
Nate you are a true artist. You make amazing baits and wonderful videos. I admire your ability to cast such a large and heavy lure without making a huge bird's nest. I especially admire your ability to refrain from cursing like Hillary Clinton after losing an expensive lure, dumping your kayak and breaking a high dollar rod. Wow
Gorgeous. All that amazing attention to detail but they kinda corrupt it with the big screw heads. Would have thought that there is a more subtle way to pin the fins in place.
Up here in Wisconsin anytime we get bit off its always a huge record muskie no matter what.
On the next episode we learn how to make our own rods so it’s less expensive. I hope your next trip is better!!!
10:53 Thats why I have said you need a mono leader as well....shock leader
Top Notch Marling Video! Roller coaster of emotions🤣🤣🤙🏼🤙🤙🏽🤙🏼🤙🤙🏽 Loved it!
My World is just that much less chaotic after watching your Videos, Thank You Bigly.
I just fixed a low pressure, non critical plumbing leak with superglue and baking soda. thank you sir!
Not the finest experience for you, lost lure, rolled the kayak😖 there’s always tomorrow. Love the channel, on to the next bait!
If you're not already into table top RPGs that require the rolling of dice like Dungeons and Dragons or Warhammer, that leather tray would make a pretty sweet rolling tray/dice tray.
LOL, rough day, that drawing of the fish couldn’t have been more accurate. At least you were near shore when you flipped. Just for the record, very entertaining.
I CANNOT believe you lost that lure! This was a great video though. I cracked up laughing several times. 👍
This is such a great channel! Please, never stop video taping with this format. God bless you and yours. 💪🏼💪🏼
I’m so glad you said something about the unluckiness of your lucky lure. Also I’m not the least surprised you lost your lure. You loose half the lures you fish with
"lucky lures" made your day extra special..that desperate "Nooo!" nearly killed me 😂
for the big baits if you continue to get into them look into a chaos tackle assault stick in the shock and awe model 4-24oz ive bought both the original and the 20/20 in 9'6 both are great like the 20/20 more but it was a fathers day gift to my dad . or they have a 10ft tele thats the MOAB XXXHeavy 5-30oz rod
Nate I so feel your pain for the rod as well as the lure. It has to be said they are some detailed and good looking baits the screws for the tail and fins is a great idea I can see you copying in the future
I am sure if you sent this video to there email they will replace it a bit sharpish they will be loving the hits they get on there site this evening ! Just a thought but for $150 plus postage it has got to be worth an email to them it may save them from losing custom because of a simple check crimp error 😉.
Keep your great work up and that smiling face 🌝 on our screens
Glad you’re okay from that kayak flip. They can be very dangerous. People die in 2-3 feet of water. I know it’s a hassle but wearing a PFD is highly advised.
im crying for you Nate, its ok to cry, everybody cries
Dropping your videos on Sunday morning is genius. Sorry about the lure dude.
When the screen flashes red and grey so does my heart! Sorry for your loss R.I.P. pretty pike lure we salute you. Another fun video though and glad you made it o-fishal before it was sacrificed to the river gods
Edit: was honestly waiting for the grey and red filter when the kayak tipped lmao hope the next vid goes better 😅
dang bud ...whoopsi doopsi lost a bad ass bait and took spill in the yak ...not gonna lie when you yelled no I busted out laughing ....always great content bud ..
Hey Nate, I hate to loose any bait but you loose so many. And I do remember you cutting that Roman bait up for inspection. It just goes with the territory I guess. Great video and I know you are waiting for this, PFD!!! I'm glad you are ok and keep up the great work.
For a moment I thought he was going to cut this bait in half too... just before he placed it on the display on the sawtable...I was yelling:"no"...😀
I have the same kayak as you, and I always launch with my poles in the bungees on the port and starboard side of the kayak. After I am stable in the water, I then put them in the rod holders. It's a decent kayak, but she's not the most stable.
Love the content you make I’m from New Zealand and here we do allot of salt water stick bait fishing. I was wondering if you could make a stick bait in your next video
