Yes downpipes are definitely an at-home job, easy with 2 with people. Probably best to get smog out of the way first though because it won’t pass without the catalytic converter
How Important is the intercooler with a stage 2 tune? Im putting in a charge pipe, cold air intake, and Blow off Valve with a stage 2. Got A 2016 535i xdrive and want to make sure that I wont fuck it up with putting these in before the intercooler.
hey man, is your xdrive still on? or is that you spinning in awd. does it ever jerk when you accelerate? because whenever I turn my xdrive back on with Xdelete, the car jerks every time I want to accelerate. I'm rwd now though since I turned it back off.
I don’t have x drive so that’s just me spinning the rear wheels haha But it could be your trans switching back to the awd output, might have to “learn” again for a few drives. But I’m no mechanic 😭 I’d say if no drivetrain or trans malfunction code just seend it Thanks for watching tho !!

@@white535i6 someone asked me on another video and I explained in depth in the comments, but long story short its a noise that came only after installing blow off valve, and mechanic was not worried. No issues 6-7 months after install and doesn’t affect power- so I was not worried haha, but yea sounds like Mickey Mouse when it’s WOT But thanks man good luck on yours too, and appreciate the support again !

If I could do it again I would get my downpipe, intercooler, charge-pipe and tune first. Some websites have bundle deals for all 4 I believe. That would give you immediate power gains. Lastly I would grab the BOV and do some exhaust work for that sound. And personal preference I would have no pops, I love just the sound of the BOV. Definitely skip the cold air intake, not worth it
My best suggestion is to take it for a “Pre purchase inspection” at any reliable euro/bmw shop- should cost anywhere from $100-$150 probably but they will look at everything and drive it and tell u what it needs and if it’s a good buy or not - hope that helps ! Thank u for watching !
@@MichaelCow I would hope to do that if the seller allows me to. He is letting it go at a pretty low price. Salvage due to minimal rear bumper damage (supposedly). Body work was not done professionally, so that's basically the only major negative prior to any mechanics diagnostics.
@@shyalanar82 I would say if he won’t let it get looked at for PPI then there is probably something worse- typically they don’t total a car for minimal damage in my experience, but yea jus throw it out there and see what he says- good luck
I want to do these mods but I'm in Cali and cat less is illegal so is tunes that mess with the cars carbon emissions. Do yk any alternatives for tunes that are Non-Carb I'll be doing catback exhaust opposed to downpipe though
I know they offer “high flow catted” down pipes, but yes Cali is tough for messing with cars ! I would suggest getting smog and all that done, then tune the car. Can always de tune to stock if needed and tbh swapping Downpipes isn’t that bad, but if you do get pulled over- say nothing! For all you know it was modified when you bought it ;)

If I were to do a n55 from stock I would do only the downpipe, intercooler, charge pipe, blow off valve, to start. Would keep Bootmod3. This will give me the sound I like (I got tired of pops and turned those off) and the power I like for cheaper than what I listed. Would install all those parts myself too except the blow off valve. Hope that helps !

Damn lol $2,800 for only 55whp is not worth it at all in my opinion. My M sport already came upgrade thankfully. But damn I cant believe it cost this much if not more. My Evo was at 780whp but detener for 550whp to run as my daily which was more than enough power for the same damn price but with a upgraded turbo. You cant really upgrade the turbos on bmws because then you wiñl be kissing your engine good bye I guess though running at 550 whp for a Bmw 535I M sport is pushing it a little my Shop told me. The iternals are of course upgraded but for the money its totally not worth it I should have kept my Evo 9 honestly. However I wont lie I love the Comfort of the way my 535 Drives and everything. Its such a smooth ride. I want different rims It came with the 19" M rims from BMW and I dont like running run flats. Its just that the size of the car honestly makes it feel a little weird running 17s even with a little meat on the rims. I wish I would have found a 335 series when I was buying I would have settled for it, But I looked at my 535i and found out it was an M sport and fully loaded with Aftermarket parts and instantly knew id be a dumbass of I didn't get it. Also I got it at the BMW dealership and they told me everything was running perfect on it and had just be fixed so I felt like it was a steal at $16,000 for a 65kmile 2012 535i
I will say it’s more than 55 whp, I called a shop in Dallas (Cedar performance) and talked for a long time with the owner about options and power potential on my engine. I still have some work to do, but he insists I make 375 wheel right now (so somewhere in the early 400s crank obviously) and wouldn’t take my money for a dyno to prove it because he has done so many n55s. Also total price includes the blow off valve which is 100% not necessary 😂 just sounds dope, so it’s closer to $2000 especially if u can work a wrench… I also hate runflats I have normal Michelins- at the end of the day yea If I wanted a race car to beat everyone, a boat with a n55 isn’t my best choice. But it sure is nice having for my fist bmw and first time modding my car. It’s very reliable power- thanks for watching and input ✊🏼🏎

With MHD the fmic is for stage 2+. You can run stock fmic on stage 2, thst is what I run.

It’s about $400 on top of the $250 🙃 so bout $650-$700 was the cost for me

The only one that will throw a code is if you do the catless downpipe without a tuning platform to turn the light off.

I wouldn’t say it’s necessary, but it will help you make that power much easier- it keeps your air intake temps lower which = more consistent power.
