Everyone who hosts this says that it is the toughest room they've ever played. It is a group of people who are used to keeping their personal reactions in check. For that room, he was getting a strong reaction. He did a really good job.
Because corporate media has been telling everyone to be scared of the brown people they terrorize, bomb and massacre by the millions, but now a brown person is shining the spotlight back on them. Of course it's uncomfortable to be faced by their crimes.
Hasan Minhaj was the BEST I have ever seen at any white house correspondents dinner and I have watched a LOT of them. Wow. He really KILLED it.

He was speaking from second person's POV
He was speaking from their point of view when he joked that in a “few weeks” his name will be a code used to label Muslims. When he said “My name is Hasan Minhaj”, that was his own introduction of himself.
No one is perfect but I totally get ur point. Since then he’s even talked about the correct pronunciation of his name on Ellen!

He's at a White House Correspondence Dinner and I don't think he needs to be held to a global standard when he is trying to give a message of hope to the US. If he needed to pander to some American ideal to get his point across, let him.

Ivo Koster he's not only hilarious but also impartial. He didn't shy away from criticizing everyone left and right. From all Jon Stewart children he's the only one who kept his neutrality and he's doing a great job now with his Patriot Act.
It was three years ago , and clearly the man was a modern day prophet. Tell me a single word he said wasn't true. He spoke uncomfortable truth to power and he continues to do that today. Look how he made the attendees squirm. Goddammit, we need more people like Hasan!
