Look at how much better he looks as an older, sober man.

Big fan, glad this popped up in Jan 2020, after watching all "recent" vids on RUclips; one of the best singer/songwriters ive heard, ever thus..far.

The songs he wrote with DBT were absolutely devastating. You can tell he wasn't in a good place, but dam if those songs weren't powerful. Especially Danko/Manuel and GD Lonely Love.

This is a great video! I still love the Truckers and enjoy the solo careers of all involved. Change can be a good thing.

Isbell was and will always be the best trucker. I am glad he is doing solo stuff now. He had so much untapped potential with the truckers that is blooming now.

So nice to hear from someone who believes the hype. DBT made him improve, and fired him because they were tired of his issues. His wife, Shonna Tucker, DBT bassist, divorced him. He was an insufferable cokehead and drunk... And apparently has forgotten Amanda Shires was successful and had her own money and career before Nashville came around to see if he was worth anything.

Dang, young Jason Isbell sounds just like Anderson East (their talking voices)

I always say that Anderson East is essentially if Jason Isbell attempted to sing like Chris Stapleton!

$10 or $15 Isbell tickets.... those were the days! Just spent over $180 for two nights at the Fox.

I definitely wish the era of cheap concerts hadn’t missed me. But damn less than a hundred dollars is still a steal compared to a lot of other things.
