He’s so humble, the way he will just suddenly crack a joke. How it’s so authentic and he doesn’t even realize he’s being funny. It’s just his pure genuine self. 😂
As a professional songwriter, I’ve been incredibly inspired by Jason’s music, lyrics and production. I truly believe he is the James Taylor of our generation. Every song is quality. Thanks for sharing. 🙏
To me Jason''s already up there with JT as well as CSNY,Jackson Browne, and all those other great singer-songwriters from the 60s & 70s.He wears their influences on his sleeve.
Very enjoyable. Jason is a fantastic talent. Lots of performers with bands are average by themselves, but he is great solo. If you haven't seen him live, do it!
What a terrific way to start my Friday. Jason is an incredible artist, and seems to be a great human being as well. I love to feel music and he gives me all the feels. Thanks for posting this.
As someone who's from Louisville, who really appreciates Jason's music, and a fellow singer-songwriter in recovery, this was great to see.It just sucked that I wasn't able to be here in person when Jason was in town for Bourbon & Beyond, but it's all good, and at least I have this saved on my RUclips account. So tyvm for posting this up 🙂.
I'll see him in Scotland this week, yay! There are stilll people in Europe who love their music :) (Not me, I accidentally bought the ticket, honest :))
Wow. I love Jason (just saw him at the tribute to Justin Townes Earle at the Ryman) but this version of Vampires has a distinct touch of Richard Thompson about it. Brilliant.
After being a sustaining member of WFPK for almost 30 years, I felt personally wronged by not getting to attend this Members Only performance. Anyway, I don't know why I was so sad, b/c I was at Bourbon and Beyond randomly running into Sadler Vaden and waiting for JI and 400 Unit to play. So glad it was uploaded here so I can watch over and over. Jason is pure genius.
I think it was Noel Gallacher that said the sign of a good song is even if its recorded as a full band it still sounds good on a guitar or a piano. Jason proving that to be true here. Overseas sounds amazing acoustic, and the best part of the album version is the electric guitar riff, and it still sounds amazing without it.
PS, re the pensioner types in the audience, I went on a tour a couple years ago. They werent "party people" but I had a better time than many holidays with people my age. End of the day - we are all humans. They'd seen shit, done stuff, and are far more fun than than they'll admit to your face :)
Full disclosure, living 45 minutes away from this, im jealous as hell i missed it... Having said that, this (old) crowd didnt deserve this masterful performance... Invite me next time WFPK, wtf is the Monarch?
He keeps getting better and better, as if he wasn't already at the mythical messiah level. Normal humans didnt know existed or was a possibility. My question is what is the level after mythical messiah , seriously messiah / king of kings/ Saviour ..... Is there even a designated title to what follows??? I dunno about you but if he gets any better everyone who comes in contact with the sound of his music will likely be vaporized or even ported to the spirit world to ride horses backwards and answering the 1 question that bothers us so......... "Did you see the size of those chickens?
Enjoyed it, thanks for uploading…

One of the best songwriters of our time.
The best
"There's a lot of ways to make money, but there are also a lot of ways to sleep well at night."
Beautifully said.
Is there a finer artist in the world today? I don't think so. 🤠
"Only Children" is just a whole other level of songwriting!
Jason is a national treasure. His music and lyrics have gotten me through some tough times. Bless you sir, and keep up the great work!
Mmh mmh, an American treasure indeed. Not talking shit, just agreeing with you
How lucky are those members? I felt pretty lucky to get to see it on RUclips!!
Southeastern!! The Best Record EVER!
This guy is a stellar guitar player, not to mention one of the best song writing and story telling in the game
Vocals are amazing as well!
Not a finer artist anywhere. Listening to Jason Isbell helped got me through the worst of the awful quarantine Covid years.

When the guitar is a distant second to the voice and storytelling. Thanks for fighting the fight and sharing your gifts, Mr. Isbell.
❤️Jason Isbell music ❤️
If it wasn’t for the public radio station here in the town I live in I would never have known who Jason was.Or his music.
Best American songwriter of our generation.
The guy is amazing
That Speed Trap Town version is very good. Overseas too!! He's a damned animal and as good as we have today!
Very enjoyable. Jason is a fantastic talent. Lots of performers with bands are average by themselves, but he is great solo. If you haven't seen him live, do it!
Saw him in Nashville Oct 22 - wow, guitar fest! Plan to see him many more times…agree!
What a songwriter
I'm not sure the folks in the front know how lucky they are
They will with time… but that’s okay
Agree!
Can’t imagine that…wow.
I, at 45, am thinking about hitch hiking 2000 miles to a show in Nashville. First time in 25 years to thumb it but it takes that to make it all fit.
Gold!

Hello from Canada! We love Jason and the 400 Unit and DBT and all of their awesome music...
Absolutely brilliant as ever. Thank you Jason, moves my soul!
Love...just love...respect....awe...and love..."singin' my life with his song"
Jason is so awesome! Love his voice and playing! True Troubadour!
Speed Trap Town sounds amazing on this! It all does, but that tune really shines with this solo arrangement!!
One of my favorite tracks. Its nice to see the stripped down version.
I'll see him in Scotland this week, yay!

Great songs and performance ...Can't believe there aren't more likes? 16,000 views
Wow. I love Jason (just saw him at the tribute to Justin Townes Earle at the Ryman) but this version of Vampires has a distinct touch of Richard Thompson about it. Brilliant.
Lucky to have seen him twice, each show completely different than the other. As someone said before, he's a true American treasure. Play on sir!
Love this

I can listen to Jason all day...wait, I do.

The only person my wife could leave me for and I wouldn’t be pissed in the least bit
Loving this solo gig. Amazing Musician! Can't wait for the Sydney Australia concert!
This was…no, I can’t find words to describe it! ❤
one of the best storytellers ever to play music
Hate that I missed this, but thrilled to be seeing him at Rupp Arena in Lexington in a few weeks.
Can’t wait for king of Oklahoma
Yes was waiting on this for sometime
One of my favorite artists
Maravilhoso 🙌
So blessed to have Jason's music.
Jason isbell is who I aim to write like. The way he can tell a story
Loved this! Wish I was there! ❤
I love his stuff stripped down like this.
Man, I would have loved to have been in that room!!! …the acoustics sound incredible too!!
Loved it. Thanks.
This was lovely to listen to! Thanks!

Nice little setlist here
Powerful

legend in the making , and the old cashed up benefactors didn't even know he was taking the piss about his demons & their sponsors.
Just noticed he’s wearing a meow wolf t shirt 😂
I wish I could find a good recording of Death Wish live somewhere. Has anyone found one on RUclips yet?
It’s sad to see the members have no younger people.
Is that a Martin 000 28 he's playing?
It’s 000-28 modern deluxe
This dude gives me chicken skin. I luv it!
That guitar on Vampires
Public radio, members only, I'm confused

There's only one king of kings and Lord of Lords
What is the performance date? Year? 2022?
September 2022
Are masks still a thing? No judgement etc, but are they ? I personally haven't worn one for many months. Anyhoo!
いーなーいーなー、こんなミュジッシャンが近所のライヴハウスに来てくれたらなぁ…
Authenticity is always an accident f*** sweet hell that's funny
I can't get a good look at his guitar. Is that his signature D18?
Yes, it is
@@JohnNick72 no, it’s a 000 28 modern deluxe
Yes, but… He plays 2 different guitars in this set. The other one (the D-18 in Vampires) is his signature with his symbol on the 12th fret.
@@JohnNick72 my apologies, should have watched the entire video before scrolling comments😅
@@yoEzra_def 000-28
