I can't thank you guys enough for making and publishing this video. These 2 problems are very common, but most people tend to focus on "nose up" without really addressing a frequent cause of it - swing plane issues. Specifically some people (like myself) externally rotate the upper arm, at the shoulder. This causes the elbow to drop, which forces the disc up. And the result is a sweeping movement of the disc during the swing. The disc ends up going high to low, then low to high, and that low to high is what causes an upward trajectory. Frequently the disc is moved off the plane of the throw, which causes wobble. It often starts nose up.
Played a casual round with Mike and RobbieC a few months back and he fixed my nose angle, and then showed me the pinky loaded grip to throw nose up approach shots properly. His angle control is legit! (Then he goes and cracks an ace on 18 at inverness to assert dominance)
I love this series that you have going Brian 😊. It has helped me SO MUCH 🤘. This one definitely helped get my mind back to simplifying my angle controls. I've been overthinking it for a bit now lol. Can't wait for the next video ❤️.
Nose up is a technique useful for many types of shots. Not distance. But for stalling, lift on both hyzer and anhyzer. Airbounces under obstacles. Sharp turns, example, angle the disc towards intended line, put it nose up and throw it sideways when theres a tree infront, to get a extreme fade around it.
Good stuff. However, you can pin the elbow with a fully pronated forearm, but I agree supination and pinning are more likely to happen together. However, I've heard many people mention that supination can help with nose down but it's hard for me to see how. It seems like pronation creates more anhyzer and supination creates more hyzer when the rest of the form is correct but I'm probably missing something.
Great videos for someone trying to straighten their game out! How does Stone Gossard, aka Mike Strauss, find time to play in Pearl Jam and teach disc golf? 😂
Well Cole used to be sponsored by Discraft, went to Infinite for a year and threw some of his Discraft discs on that team, then signed with DGA, who allows their pros to throw some Discraft discs, which Cole still does. He's always been friendly and loyal to Discraft, and as near as I can tell, the feeling is mutual.

He’s awesome!
Great to see Mike there. I’ve followed his stuff on Robbie Cs channel
That’s very kind of you to say. Hope your game is going well!

I had issues with nose up until I gripped the disc with a power grip that bonaplaned.
One thing that I have never seen is a BH turnover that is thrown flat. It is always thrown upward.
Ummm discraft video and short clip of Cole Redalen throwing? New sponsor?
