Oh, totally. I didn't have time yesterday. But think it was closed anyway (maybe the upcoming rain). Then, other times I was there, the line would be super long. One time I showed up at opening to beat the line. Only to find it closed. Then, as I was on my way out, it was open with a long line. I can't win! Lol.
Thank you Chris for always giving us such great updates for Knott's. You truly deserve to be an ambassador and Knotts is silly for not giving you that opportunity.
Much appreciated! I'm also on their media list... But never get invited to any events. Not becoming an Ambassador was the last straw for me. Total slap in the face. Especially when seeing all the Disney mommy vloggers get invites. I almost quit on the park all together. But knew how much you and others appreciate the videos. 😃
Great job Chris! It’s exciting to finally see movement on Monty. I’m surprised they just discarded the track back there in the parking lot but how cool you got to touch it. 45 years of history right there! I think I’m finally going to get my pass now! 😀
Thank you! Yeah, I can't believe I got to touch the track! I wish I was able to spend more time looking at it. But I was in a rush to get home. And also thought someone might come tell me to leave (even though it was sitting there in an open and unfenced parking lot).
I am so happy that all of the work for Montezooma's Revenge is finally going to be resumed. This is really big news and I am super excited to see what happens next. Unfortunently, I will not be an annual passholder for 2025
I knew the rebuild could be possible for the shuttle loop, wondering about which manufacturer could do wonders although the train and restraint has been revealed long ago from 2022.
announced by Knott's March 1st, 2024 construction to resume on Montezuma Monday March 4th, 2024. Opening 2025. They didn't show any moe than the coaster car. Hopefully they go with the Vekoma like coaster that Vekoma has opening later this year in Australia.
Chris that is a bummer that you didn't get to be an ambassador. 😢. Thanks for getting back to me and seeing that they are dismantling and refurbishing the track. I think it's going to be Zamperla doing the remodel, since Cedar Fair isn't working with Intamin. I knew that Knott's had a hard time getting the parts from Intamin for Excelorator. ❤😊
You're welcome. And Zamperla would make sense. They are the ones I wanted to do the work from the start. But that was also because they have a flywheel on Pony Express and I wanted a new flywheel for Montezooma's Revenge. But I don't think that's gonna happen. Yeah, it's a bummer about The Ambassador Program. Also a slap in the face that I'm on their media list, but don't get invited to any media events. That was another reason why I was on the verge of quitting covering Knott's all together.
Train not same layout. Supposed to be extended to where Huff N Puff was. Why they want to do this is a mystery to me as I don’t think that will add value to the ride, and certainly not worth losing Huff N Puff for, but 🤷🏻♂️. I’m glad Knott’s made an announcement before work “re-zoomed” as seeing the track gone off one of the towers people would have thought it was a goner for sure!!!
Not sure it’s supposed to be extended to where huff and puff is. Yes the video showed a clip showing the trucks and trains close but that could have been for videos sake. I assume the trucks would get the extended layout where huff and puff was at. However I have seen no movement on either ride they are redoing so who knows.
@@troyvsc That’s true. You very well may be right. It could be for just the car ride. I re-read the press release from Knott’s and they said the cars would be expanded, but never said the train would. Just that it would be “upgraded”.
if they dont use the same track then why didnt they just sell it to keep it alive? This was just all a big mistake, whomever thought this was a good idea should be fired. ACE needs to pull the "landmark" status. All things considered, it was a stupid decision. Monte was a bucket list coaster for many, many people because of it's history. At least it lasted longer than Corkscrew, the GOAT (arguably) of ACE landmarks. Hell, the footprint is so tight that they could have just built a new version right next to it. It could have worked, I'd bet, quite well.
I believe that, aside from the loop, the other track being removed is being sent off for a restoration. And then will be reinstalled. But removing the flywheel and bringing in new trains should be enough grounds for the ACE landmark status to be removed.
Wicked Twister Tony Clark said would not go anywhere. Some of its components did go to Valleyfair and Dorney Park to be used as parts for Possessed and Steel Venom.
This ride is getting rebuilt from scratch!
Fresh new track for a smoother experience
I hope it's not ALL new track.
no, updated and remodeled like Colossus is revamped and now twisted colossus
I loved the old montezooma
Get a ride on the Stagecoach, you go right next to the Camp Snoopy construction and get some good views of all the trenching and stuff going on

I've watched this video and it's starting to come back, thru my stomach.
I hope i have a bathroom near by!!!
😂😂😂
Great work as always ACN!!!
Can't wait for the new Monte's Forbidden Fortress!!!
Thanks!! And I'll never call it that. Haha.
My montezooma getting a new look
Pretty awesome!!

Hey bro 😂
OMG! Crazy stuff man! I can't believe you got to touch the top of Montezuma's spike!
Me too! So crazy to see up close!
I should be heading there Friday so I appreciate the update for sure. Just in time for the Boysenberry fest!
You're welcome! And Boysenberry Festival is always fun.
Long time fan…. Videos are always Radiant.
I like that.
Great update Chris! Looks like some very positive progress is happening
Thank you! And it sure is nice seeing some movement after nothing for a year or more.
2025 can’t come soon enough! Can’t wait!
I'm turning 40 in 2025. I can definitely wait 😂

This renovation needs to be epic or else😮

ACN for the train ride they are expanding the track so it is not the same layout
I wonder as I have seen no movement or construction with the small train layout.
I'm not sure where they have room to expand it. Aside from a small area under Silver Bullet.
Hoping for vertical spikes
Me too and a loop with Hangtime like full throttle or copperhead strike.
Oh, I hope they don't change that. Gotta keep something original.
@@AmericasCoasterNetwork ok will take the vertical spikes with an intense loop?
Ok, ill go there....its gonna be a 500' twisted spike
The camp snoopy clock being removed is a crime against humanity it better come back man.
💯
Who do you think is doing the refurbishment? Exciting I think zamperla or premier
My hope is for Zamperla.
Pretty.much confirms they dumped Kumbak

Relaunching 2025
I had given up hope - now let's see if Knotts can actually finish a project.
Rocky Mountain Trucking Company ...

Still say they shoulda just.put wicked twister there...at CP it was overshadowed at Knotts it would a be top 3
Do they even have the track still for that ride anymore? Or did they just scrap it?
Scrapped it
@@joshfreund6008 Awww…such a waste.
