Hellloooo! My name is Clancy and I'm originally from Long Island, NY. My fiance, Zac, and I decided to put our things in storage and travel the country, starting August 2022. Crazy, right? I used to work at a Plato’s and there were always restrictions on what we could take based on time of year, what’s trending, and there were VERY high expectations on clothes we could take (needed to be nearly new, no pilling or threads misplaced at all). There’s also sometimes budgetary restrictions, and the computer program prices everything for us. Don’t feel badly!!! It’s not personal at all 🤗🤗
How does the computer program work? Like by brand, or do you just put in the amount of “wear” it has? Or what?! I’ve always wondered!!
@@haybby23 Typically we didn't take items that had "wear" at all, since everything should be in "like new" condition :) so it was by item (shirt/sweater/accessory) and then by brand!

hahahah clancy you're cracking me up with this gnocchi. it's meant to be prepared as pasta dish! with a sauce of your choice (red, white, garlic sauce, etc) and cheese!!! the cauliflower gnocchi from Tjoes is just a healthier substitute since real gnocchi is made from potatoes, egg, and flour

That always happens to me at Plato’s closet! They took 2 things out of a huge bag I brought… I ended up coming back a month later with the same bag and they took wayyyy more. I know you’ve already donated everything, but next time, it’s worth going back multiple times with the same stuff if you don’t mind holding on to the clothes a little longer!

I love a puffy sleeve on a blouse/dress. It's so feminine/extra. The more exaggerated the sleeve is the more inclined I am to buy it😩 I love that you're shopping more. Its so cute/refreshing. Also thanks for trying the clothes on. It's so annoying when influencers just hold the items in their hand. If I'm interested, I'd like to visualize how the item may fit/fall on me.

Loving all the new clothes! I've tried the sweet potato gnocchi and it's good! It comes with a sauce and cook it in a fry pan. Think of gnocchi as pasta and not a tater tot. Maybe air frying tater tots is ok but not gnocchi haha.

Maybe try the regular potato gnocchi next time, and boil them in hot water. Serve them with your favorite pasta sauce and voila - you will have the traditional gnocchi dish. 👌
They are usually much better flavor and texture that way. 😊

Lol we have a Plato’s closet in Illinois and they usually have specific brands they like, such as trending brands! They don’t take typical brands but you should be able to see what they take in their website!
I’ve had similar experience when taking clothes to clothes mentor or Plato’s closet. Even some with a tag lol. Happy Saturday and have a great weekend!! 😊

They told me they only take clothes that are in style for the season. I never have good luck with them. They rejected jeans I had never worn with tags, because they could only sell skinny jeans and mine were boot cut. I just donated the clothes.

Clancy! Use the lens buddy app. You can set how many pics you want it to take in time frames of 30,45,60 seconds . It’s super helpful!
Clancy you should make similar content to what you make here over on TikTok! I think a video introducing what you were doing before as a reporter and what you’re doing now as a RUclipsr with a voiceover would do really well! Especially with “the great resignation” happening, I feel like you would provide a fresh perspective
Oh Clancy ,I feel ya. I live in SoCal and we have places like that Plato’s closet and Buffalo Exchange. It would just kill me because I bought my teenage daughter’s the nicest ,most beautiful clothes from Abercrombie and Fitch, Hollister etc. , In almost new condition and that damn place would reject those items . I would bring in 2 large bags they take one or two items. I don’t get it. Love your channel!!

Good for you for getting into tiktok! I feel like I wouldn't have time to make videos on there. I barely have time to make vlogs on youtube these days. Maybe you could make tiktok videos of your workout routines or your food prepping?
The more you are on TikTok the more you get it. There are other trends other than dancing! I love it and pretty much just use that platform
Enjoyed this episode Clancy. Getting rid of all the clothes we don’t wear anymore, it takes a while to complete , because we have to sort through them , and organize a keep and donate pile . But it feels so great after completing the task. You did a great job . I will definitely subscribe to your Tik Tok channel!

Sometimes we just need that chill day or the extra 45 minutes in bed, maybe we woke up early a few times that last week and didn't notice or you've been hitting the gym harder lately, we're all so hard on our selves and routine rigid when really that rest will make the rest our day that much more pleasant/efficiently carried out , listen to your body and respect it's requests lol

I recently donated give bags' worth of stuff to a charity shop and I felt so good, so cleansed! Now whenever I open my cupboard I like everything there and everything gets worn.
An idea for tiktok is the relationship trend where there’s a sound that goes “who’s the more messy one…who wears the pants in the relationship?” You and Zac would have your eyes closed and point to whoever you think fits the question. I have no idea what the tiktok sound is called but it’s so fun!

I used to worked at Buffalo Exchange which is the same concept and they shouldn’t of said your clothes aren’t in style. I’m thinking they meant they either don’t have room for the specific category you brought in or they are looking for seasonal clothing. Don’t feel bad💕

Love the new clothes! I don't have TikTok. First, I feel like I'm too old for it & 2nd, my husband is a Network Engineer for a big company. He works from home quite a bit & TikTok has some security concerns. He doesn't want it anywhere on our network.
The goodwill story reminded me of when I took some books to 2nd & Charles to sell. I had two huge bags full thinking that I would at least get like $40 or so. I got $11. I was so upset 😂
That always happens with clothes and even books…they don’t take most of it and what they do take, they give you peanuts for. You should do the sneeze “I’m on vacation” trend where you act like you sneeze into your arm in your house then you cut to vacation (look up the sound). It will be good for when you guys travel.

Always get hypoallergenic pillows, I'm allergic to down. In Columbus we have Dress for Success. So, people that need work clothing can get them. That's actually a great idea. We also have a free clothing place here. My case manager person always asks me if I have enough clothing.
I never heard of that store, but once upon a child is the same concept. And they do this EVERY time to everybody I’ve ever spoken to! I’ll bring in name brand children clothes, clean, folded, no stains, in style still… and they’ll take just a handful of things out of bin(s) I bring and send the rest back. But sadly when I go in lately I see stained up or small holes in clothes and they’re close to the average price of new clothes on sale.
There are probably tons of dust bunnies on those pillows and the carpet, too. At least run a swiffer duster or something over them before using them again. I'm very OCD about dust. I see dust on the keyboard and printer at work all the time and I'm constantly dusting them on my breaks because it bothers me so much. Doesn't seem to bother anyone else.
Buying clothes from GoodWill is great! I love used clothing stores because then people aren't throwing away their clothes, someone else will be able to enjoy them. There's a store in Canada called Value Village that takes donations of clothes, books, toys, lots of items and I don't go there often, but occasionally I go there and find some cool shirts and dresses. I was sad about a green dress I saw there several years ago that I loved, but it didn't fit me.
I'm surprised they only gave $3.10 one ratty sweat shirt at the Goodwill store. I hope you can at least put that towards a cup of coffee.

Started a youtube about my recovery and my journey off my maintenance medication and i started to feel discouraged and my hubby encouraged me to do tik toks and it has helped my confidence etc and its fun!! Im actually having fun ! Ps your videos on there are awesome!

Another fantabulous video!! About your clothes and donating-find a church that has a clothes closet. We have a couple of them here in my small city. They are open for anyone in the community who needs something to wear for job interviews or work clothes. Also consider locating a women’s shelter and donating to them. Our local shelter, sadly, is always in need. Most of these ladies have left their abusive situation with nothing but what they are wearing. You may have to speak with local law enforcement in order to donate to the shelter. I don’t know how it is in other areas, but here, for a very long time, it was kept totally secret as to who was running it.
