I've liked Jack Jones since 15. I had good taste even back then! I've seen him in concert two times. Once at The Colony Hotel in their dinner club in Palm Beach and another time in Boca Raton in a theatre where he signed my CD as he walked into the audience!
Always liked Jack Jones. Kept hearing "Wives And Lovers" on ME Radio in Chicago and now I can't stop listening to his music. Andy Williams has always been a class act. Christmas would never be the same without his incredible voice. This clip is smooth.

Jack and Andy did something we vocalists today are astonished at. Pure, accurate, impeccable vocals with style, plus visual perfection for the camera. Then they all blithely walk down, while still singing, and join others, and the entire dance troop swirls around them, and finish the song perfectly. So much fun to watch, breathtaking, all live, and still vibrant after all these years. My two favorite male vocalists having fun. Wish we'd bring that back today.

Before Jack surfaced onto the major music scene Andy Willams was my favorite singer. Then to see them appear together on this telecast I was probably levitating. No doubt in my mind Andy was Jack musical big brother. Revisiting these videos is good medicine for us older types plus it introduces something for the younger generation to learn from and hopefully return to. I despised the Beatles and all their flankers, not as people I just wanted more straight up pop singers like Andy and Jack to develop, although Jack in Jazz form was extra special.
Yes, thats Noel Harrison at the end. The singer who sang the Michel Legrand song, 'Windmills of Your Mind'. It seems he was outclassed here by the duo.
Jack was playing the Moon River in Branson the night Andy died, and this clip was shown among others. Jack was in particularly good form that evening, as were his lead-ins McCoo and Davis, and we were also treated to the presence in the audience of Kim Crosby (a special favorite from Jack's Guys and Dolls show a while back) and Les Brown Jr. The whole show had the right tone from beginning to end, and I'm sure Andy would have appreciated it. I know we did.
I just saw Jack Jones perform here in L.A. (Aug. 2017), and besides STILL having that absolutely beautiful voice, yes, he IS a class act. His show was completely G-rated, which is very nice. Frankly, I'm no prude, but I'm tired of blue humor by performers I cherish. It brings them down a notch or two in my book.

Yes, George was Country, while Jack is Pop. Jack's sort of on a level with Steve Lawrence and Matt Monroe as great but B level stars, not as fully appreciated as they should be. Vic Damone too, another great but under-appreciated singer.

Nor Williams, for that matter... his albums are seen as commercial vehicles mainly... a great voice who just didn't produce technical nor aesthetically demarcating albums... Damone the same... Matt Monroe's a more complicated figure... would take too much time to essay his influence/standing... Jones more and more is bracketed with Bennett as the last 2 major late 50s-onward (Jones only producing one album in the 1950's) key male song stylists of that standards/cool jazz tradition... most of the other 'identifiable' voices are seen as mainly derivative populist (very successful) singers...l
Johnny Mathis is a complicated figure with regards to the historiography of the lineage referenced above (male GASB/crooning/swing greats from Russ Columbo/Crosby/Sinatra/Eckstine/ down to Jones/Bennett and recently Connick Jr./Buble) because he moves in and out of that 'tradition' his catalogue much more given to contemporary pop material with a cross blending into standards singing and the interpretive aspects of popular belle canto song stylization... his voice, as it is/has been presented over the years, registers into that falsetto pop sound - a feminization of the male vocal presentation - of the Platters or later Motown group performance vocalization, as much as a parallel to the jazz/standards singers he loved like Nat King Cole, Billy Eckstine, Sinatra etc., growing up... he's kind of an interesting outlier in many regrads, though he has recorded some astonishing good 'standards material' and his own original pop material has, over time, taken on the character close to standardization as well... so that's a laudable achievement... the one limitation that takes him out of a direct comparative placement with the singers mentioned above is/has always been his hyper attenuated vibrato and sonic readings line to line have never really allowed for him to produce vocals that 'swing' (in that particular cadence) recognizable necessary to anyone who listens to that formulation of musical performance... Is this completely live? It is hard to believe as there aren't any major vocal flaws and everything is pitch perfect. With the modern technology of our times, why aren't the"stars" of today able to sing live the way the old cats did in the past?

glennmach jack more like 6’2 ....I’ve seen him on stage he is very tall, I stood right next to Andy Williams at golf course in Monterey he was at least 5 inches shorter than my 5’10 1/2 frame.... that said, a voice of a Giant. Jack and Andy my 2 all time fav male singers ...I give the edge to Jack because he could sing pop jazz.

Jack had a better voice than Andy. Just stating the truth. Revised comment: I rewatched this video years later. And I have to say.... Andy's voice is pretty good.
The truth is, you prefer Jack. Which is fine. He had one of the purest sounds, but Andy had something I call a "joy" factor in his voice, whether smiling or not. There was about a decade age difference between them. You could add Matt Monro to this male short list. All 3 are singer's singers. Remember, there are those who think Donald Fagen or Bob Seger have the best voice (aka favorite singer). I like Steely Dan. Those people are confused by style over vocal quality. And they probably don't care.
