Me too. It is quite a popular fight song tune amongst high schools. The Northern Lakes League has two schools that use it, Whitmer(Toledo), and Northview(Slyvania). I'm in Whitmer's band, so I know our fight song takes inspiration from Across The Field.

Ohio State fan here- and I honestly have to agree with you. Also, I actually went to the Ohio State vs. Michigan game this year, and Michigan, y’all played great, and ya Buckeyes have loads of respect for you! Some people think it’s crazy that rivals have respect for each other, but actually what makes the Ohio State and Michigan rivalry so great is the respect we have for each other. So, good game Michigan, already looking forward to next year! Go Bucks!
Bucks fan coming to say UT and A&M have the best fight songs for a rivalry. Both of them are explicitly about the other.
I remember this the most during the Clarett days with Jim Tressel. Their band sounds so good. The Big Ten has always been the best conference.

Edit for 2022: I hate Ohio State as a Penn State fan, but I have a lot of respect for them because they always beat our ass like a drum. We're 1-8 and have been outscored 299-219 by them in the James Franklin era.

Kind of a sad story
My Great Grandma had Ohio State engraved in her memory. She got Alzheimer’s. Even after she became more demented and psychotic, somehow Ohio State stayed to the point where she still remembered it. My grandpa had to set his voicemail to “If this is Saturday and you’re X, Go Bucks” just for her.
Sports are a very useless thing to identify with and make your personality, compared to other things, but it stays……
I was in the marching band at Bucknell University in the mid-late 80s, and Bucknell hosted IUP in football during the ‘86 season. Their band sounded awesome (one woman who was in the band I knew from Susquehanna Valley Band in HS (comprised of several high schools in central Pennsylvania). Like the fight song. It’s a shame that IUP changed their name. Shikellamy HS and Shamokin HS managed to keep their names (Braves and Indians, respectively)…why couldn’t IUP do the same? I feel the same way about Susquehanna University changing their name from Crusaders to Riverhawks, Saint John’s University from the Redmen to Red Storm, Cleveland from the Indians to the Guardians and Washington from the Redskins to the Commanders. WTF!
