Greetings from the land of Saint Tigers. I'm so happy that your son is able to get out there and do what he's doing. My god could you imagine being a part of something so big? The amount of time that went into coordinating that routine must have been staggering. Please let him know that some random guy in Louisiana wishes him the best of luck to keep doing what he's doing, and that the discipline that he is learning in marching band will carry him far!
I was there at the game. I can honestly tell you that I have never and I mean never seen anything like this before in my life watching games. Just the way they do the I guess the pictures on the field and Make it look so real. And when they do Ohio at the end and literally everyone in the stadium is on their feet with their phones out recording and cheering for the band is beyond anything I’ve seen for any marching band ever. It was awesome the support they get is remarkable. GO BUCKEYES
I was there too, on my way back to Tennessee. Born and raised in Ohio. First game I’ve ever attended. It was an experience, from first arriving to the game all the way till the end. Watching the game was like watching any other game honestly live, but they put on a big program, production and show. And it’s something to eat a game with an attendance the size of many small cities in the Country all in one stadium lol.
Ugh! I want to hate EVERYTHING about Ohio State, but how can you hate this? One of the best traditions in college football. They really outdid themselves with this one. Every time I think they've done something untopable, they say, "hold my beer!" Kudos to everyone who makes these spectacles happen!
Incredible! I’m not a fan of THE Ohio State Buckeyes football, but I’d pay for a ticket just to experience these halftime shows! Reminds me of the speed, precision, and musicality of Drum Corp International (“DCI”) competitions. My sons were in a HS marching band and used paper “dot chart” printouts - where to be on the field at what point in the score. I assume they’ve upgraded to digital by now and it’s absolutely impressive with all of the animation. Some musicians are practically running to their spot while playing challenging music! 🏆
love this!! I was in from 1997-2001. played flugel horn 2 years and then switched to snare drum (my real passion). "back in my day" we did use paper charts with the dots...which is still what the alumni get for our portion of the Alumni shows. The OSUMB (TBDITL) have moved digital yes. i forget when...maybe 10 years ago? They all have ipads with their music & the drills on them. Glad you enjoyed the show! I've only done a few of the Alumni games since being out 20 years (wish that was different...i plan to march in every one that I can from here forward....the timing just didn't work out years ago)...THIS show i think is one of the funnest shows the Alumni have ever done. and....Brutus even had a Forrest Gump outfit he wore a few times and literally just sprinted down the field & up into the ramp disappearing inside the stadium...just like Forrest would run in the movie. it was hilarious & so fun!
My selection for Marching Band of the day today, November 12, 2024 is THE Ohio State University Marching Band!!! The Best Damn Band in the Land has had an performances that have included the space station!!! They have also been doing some ice skating for the hockey intermissions and have really made sure they retain the number one marching band spot. The inspiration that they have given the squad and the state is unmeasurable! Congratulations 🎉🎉🎉😎🎶🥁🏈🎉🎉🎉
AMAZING job incorporating the Alumni Band with the Varsity Band! I got a tear in my eye with the mass playing of "I wanna go back..." Rest in Peace Ray Castle.
One more amazing note about TBDBITL is they do a new halftime show at every home game. OSU has 4 home games in a row to start the season this year, and the band members need to memorize all the music, and the formations, in a week. A lot of other college bands do maybe 3 shows for the entire season. Way to make a fellow OSU alumni proud! Go Bucks!!!
I am just blown away. Hands down the best halftime show I have ever seen. I love Forrest Gump. I will definitely share this video. Now I want to go and watch more halftime shows past and present. Thank you so much for sharing. 🎼♥️♥️♥️🎼
They are. This line is superb. They're not MSU, but neither are a lot of DCI lines. The bass drums were feeling it in this show, too. I've never heard that many sextuplet runs from OSU.
Please… how can I find out in advance WHEN these epic shows are scheduled? I don’t mean any game, I mean the ones that have these epic marching band planned show? Seems like they are once a year (of this caliber)? I really want to go.
Fantastic show! Following the Earth Wind and Fire show from last week, this band continues to raise the bar. So proud of all the members of this fine band. Can't wait to see what comes next!
TBDBITL always does a spectacular job 🤩 My favorite show used to be their video games 🎮 one, but this one just might've moved into my #1 spot. Forrest Gump is one of my favorite movies of all time and this performance with all the unique formations and music unique to the film was just well executed 👏 Absolutely incredible!
This is a brass and percussion band, no? As a lifelong band geek, flutist, piccoloist - I wouldn’t have been in this band. That’s OK, perhaps I would have learned an auxiliary percussion part. As it turned out, I was admitted to the Cleveland Institute of Music to major in flute. I’m still playing so that’s good! Great show students and teachers!
Truly on off the best bands in the country. Texas A&M is the only band I like more. I love the Michigan band, but the fight song is so rockin that they lean on it. The buckeye band not only has the marching, but the music sounds great. The osu band is top shelf!!!
I’ll give Ohio State marching band credit for imaginative shows, however, for sheer precision marching, Texas A&M’s band beats them by miles. I live in Ohio, my mom graduated from TCU and my dad from Texas university; it is very hard for me to give the Aggies credit for anything.
I love marching bands and this band is great but it is more of a walking band. Those knees need to be higher up to be classified as a marching band but its ok.
My son is out there having the time of his life on the trombone ❤
💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽give him my compliments
I know you are so proud of your dear son God bless him, I am a grandmother that has a dear grandson in band too! God bless them both!
AWWWWWWWW Please give him a hug from a watcher out in Northern Cali!! Great Job =))

I am a "band geek" from back in the day & all I can say is DAMN!!! 👏👏👏
My band marched but we didn’t do this!!
This should be the halftime show at the Super Bowl! The other so called entertainment sucks year in and year out! This would never get old.
Ditto!

Been there many times through the years when the alumni is there, it is special with the four scripts, they say there were over 700 on the field,
if you like this one their are more on RUclips, they are all fantastic
Oh yeah Love my BUCKEYES!!!!WHAT A BAND The very best. Go Bucks O-H-I-O!!!!
This is on my bucket list! To hear this band in person & go to a game some day, fingers crossed .

Now THIS is HALF TIME ENTERTAINMENT!! WONDERFUL to kind of focus on one person and see how accurate and precise they perform.

Every time I think they've done something untopable, they say, "hold my beer!" Kudos to everyone who makes these spectacles happen!
Best in the West. @nd only a week to learn the routine. Bless the director too for drawing up such fabulous halftime shows. ❤
Only in Ohio 🤓👆
Right!!!!!
what’s wrong with osu? or are you just a ichigan fan
@@C-Mac-36 Nah. Hate Michigan too. I'm an Ole Miss fan. LOL

Buckeye fan or not, MUCH respect to their Marching Band! That was an incredible performance! RTR.
Our current Drum Major is truly amazing. The tumbling has added an entirely new and exciting dimension.
Who are the band members in red?
Alumni band members
@@hannaj4032 they are the alumni!
So was Dwight Hudson.
@@jackredd305 - That is so cool. That was a phenomenal show. I’m a UGA Dawg, hopefully we’ll see you guys in post season. We love your band!
Wow! Just WOW! Your lines, your formations, your sound, perfect 10"s!

I honestly didn't know this. I figured most bands at least at major D1 schools did a new show every week.
That. Was. So. Cool. Dang, that was the best marching band performance I've seen!
Been there for that homecoming performance and it was so fantastic and emotional. Can’t believe the current band was in the end zone for this one!!!
I’m a current Marching Chief at FSU but yall always do amazing at the halftimes and Script Ohio!
Never forget the FSU band coming to the skull session in 1980. They were GREAT!!!
Dude they made a helicopter better than I can draw.
Another day, another great halftime performance from TBDBITL! OH!

Wow!!! AMAZING!! Awesome sound, great marching. Overall, OUTSTANDING!!!👏👏👏👏
Went to the game just to see this. It was amazing. Really lives up the hype
Went to a performance of the OSU Marching Band and a football game broke out
Most of those football players are on scholarships. These band members work harder than any football player and most pay their own way!
I know that there are lots of marching band scholarships at big schools. Many of these kids get scholarship $ for their time.
YOU SO RIGHT....GOD BLESS ALL OD THEM....
Unfortunately marching bands don't bring that huge TV number. Not to mention, crap teams pay the better teams to even play them
The athletes make mad money for the school
I'm a Michigan state fan.... But wow Ohio band is off the chart amazing..... WOW....
As a Buckeye, I thank you. I've always appreciated MSU's band, too. And your drumline is, as always, incredible.
Absolutely amazing!
This is amazing! Thank You

That was awesome
Never disappoint! OH-IO! Incredible
Incredible, they are the best❤
That was awesome!!!
The snares actually cut. They might be fairly clean
They are. This line is superb. They're not MSU, but neither are a lot of DCI lines. The bass drums were feeling it in this show, too. I've never heard that many sextuplet runs from OSU.
Definitely playing a bunch of notes. And the bass runs are real, unlike parade style. They're moving towards corps style slowly but surely.
Fabulous job band!! My husband and I went to Penn State. He played in the Blue and White band. I always appreciate hard work and athletics.
My mom and I love this movie! I’ll have to show her this.
Totally took me back to high school. I was in one of the top marching bands in Louisiana. I graduated in 2005 and this definitely takes me back.
Please… how can I find out in advance WHEN these epic shows are scheduled? I don’t mean any game, I mean the ones that have these epic marching band planned show? Seems like they are once a year (of this caliber)? I really want to go.
Every game 👍
Amazing!
The best halftime show that exists.

Wow! Over 736 musicians. How do you even try to coordinate something like this with so many people?!?
So this is the current band and the alumni band is in the red
...I still think that they need four beaters at the block O to keep time.
Simply the Best!
Totally awesome!!!! Bravo!! Bravo!!
My favorite kind of halftime show. Fabulous job!
This is the half time shows they should have at super bowl, instead of the garbage they try to pass as entertainment! Well done kids!!!

As part of the marching band I thought that making a heart on the football field for homecoming was a big deal
Soo cool
Forest Gump played for Alabama. He ain't never been to ohio
This band and the success that it enjoys in recent years owes a huge debt of gratitude to Jon Waters
absolutely!! Love Jon & his family. I was in the band with Jon (both as members) back in 1997.

WOW!!!! Absolutely stunning!!
Those of us who have marched in football bands know how difficult these formations are. But they would be much improved by adding woodwinds!
I had an ant farm once that I trained to do the same
Go Blue!!! We own you!!
THE BEST DAMN BAND IN THE LAND!!!!
I was predicting a John Tatgenhorst Tribute for this halftime.
