I would rate the Gold Coast stadium higher than the Gabba, I have been to both and neither is a bad stadium but the vibe around the GC stadium is really different, you have kids playground, plenty of space for kicking the footy around, they bring in performers. The down side to the stadium looking empty is the view you get from the concourse as it is built at that perfect height for great viewing, you can find it 10 people deep in spots! Fun fact about the GC light towers, when the original stadium was built for the bears the light towers were never paid for and have never been to this day.

Ah, the iconic Norwood Oval, home of the mighty Redlegs. You're probably right, you'll be seeing more of it shortly, as Norwood should get the nod for the next AFL licence.
I don't think Adelaide has anywhere near the supporter base etc to sustain 3 AFL teams. I think the best option for the AFL if they want to go back to an even number of teams is either a merger between teams or if that wont work, a new team in Canberra.
@@gregrobins5615 Are there really enough people that would abandon their support for the Crows or Power and pack Norwood Oval every week to make the team viable in the AFL? I know South Australians take their AFL more seriously than the Kiwis take their Rugby or the Indians take their Cricket but surely there can't be enough people in Adelaide to make 3 teams financially viable... (you need a lot more supporters to make an AFL team viable than you do for a 2nd tier team in a league like the SANFL)
sorry but Optus is "LEAGUES" above any other on so many levels, this stadium NOT by means/meme/stuck in time but is from the community, way before the first dirt was dug for it like ground is laser flat, the handicap, top rated services EVEN for out of state teams not just home teams there is FOURTEEN seats UP on that roof
Aesthetics vary from person to person, but one thing Optus has over the rest of the top 5 is objectively superior sightlines. Particularly in the ground bowl where the gradient at Optus is must better than the 12° MCG, 11° Marvel, and the pathetically shallow 9° Adelaide Oval and SCG. Optus Stadiums bowl is far move broken up than unobservant people have noticed.
As a sydney sider, i liked optus stadium.... despite it when i went was 40k patronage, its was wicked and good views, even from nose bleed sections. Also haven't been for a game, but wandered adelade oval during some open day when i was there, i think its would be almost on par than optus stadium in terms of atomsphere. I feel when a-league teams of their retrospective teams during the grand finals (think 2016 and something else), its was fucking wicked, even make afl a yarn. As a WSW fan when they played adelade in adelade oval during some grand final, kinda wanted to headed there.
Certainly, it is your biased view to put Adelaide Oval at number 2. I just bring out 2 aspect to go against (there will be more): 1. Optus Stadium in Perth won the most beautiful stadium in the world in 2019 (obvious your view of beauty is very different from others). What has Adelaide oval won? The biggest tree jungle oval? 2. The AFL coaches have to walk pass the footy viewers from and to the coach box. Only inferior stadium design should allow this. There were unnecessary incidents because of this poor design.

I've been at the MCG when two Melb clubs played and it was shocking with no atmosphere. Average. All it has going for it is size. But its ugly and plain vanilla.
How do you spend 1.8 billion on a stadium that doesn't have a roof
It's Perth, does it really need a roof?
i reckon optus over adelaide but still awesome video keep it up
You marked Optus down for being a “bowl” but the mcg is the exact same, I’m from Melbourne and Optus is well above any stadium
The private owners of the G make a billion bucks a year from this Landmark, $700M just from the AFL
A Corporate box now well over $200,000 a year. This joint is a City in a city.
Gmhba above marvel marvel is shit and Gabba is easily the worst primary afl stadium
the MCG may be the 3rd largest capacity stadium in the world and have a lot of history, but like all things, like Optus, will develop a rich history while the MCG is old and dilapidated and lacks severely in modern tech and facilities, toilets, vendors, ease of use, Optus slam dunks the MCG and Adelaide Oval,
Lol in what way is it old and dilapidated?? The whole mcg is actually very new. Not old.
freo will smash melbourne at traeger on sunday
Great Video Mate
Damn the gabba is better than marvel . Marvel is an abomination . Clealry PP is Victorian , the bias is evident . Optus has to be #1
Docklands is the worst ground in the AFL
great video bud
4:50 that's why the new stadium at Mac Point was proposed for the Tassie team, Bellerive sucks balls.
Awesome video
Ah, the iconic Norwood Oval, home of the mighty Redlegs. You're probably right, you'll be seeing more of it shortly, as Norwood should get the nod for the next AFL licence.
I don't think Adelaide has anywhere near the supporter base etc to sustain 3 AFL teams. I think the best option for the AFL if they want to go back to an even number of teams is either a merger between teams or if that wont work, a new team in Canberra.
@@jfwfreo You obviously don't know the history of Norwood then.
@@gregrobins5615 To be fair, the most I know about Adelaide is how you get out of there and onto the freeway to points east and south...
@@jfwfreo That explains why you would pick an unknown like Canberra over an iconic club like Norwood then. At least you were honest.
(you need a lot more supporters to make an AFL team viable than you do for a 2nd tier team in a league like the SANFL)
sorry but Optus is "LEAGUES" above any other on so many levels, this stadium NOT by means/meme/stuck in time but is from the community, way before the first dirt was dug for it like ground is laser flat, the handicap, top rated services EVEN for out of state teams not just home teams
there is FOURTEEN seats UP on that roof
I agree with most of your ranking with the exception of Docklands stadium. Kadinia Park and the SCG are clearly better venues.
I just finished watching your all vdos 😅
Mt Barker a real sad ground. How it's an AFL ground is truly embarrassing
its only temporary. But I went to the gather round game. The view is awesome and the food and drink is off the charts.
No way Adelaide oval is above optus stadium..even the mcg is debatable
Its the location.
As someone who gets to go to a lot and I mean alot of games. Optus Stadium is clearly better than Adelaide
I don't like your ranking. You obviously from Adelaide
i take it your from SA
Certainly, it is your biased view to put Adelaide Oval at number 2. I just bring out 2 aspect to go against (there will be more):
Optus is colourful on the outside but like the op said or wanted too say.... it's bland and has no character on the inside.
@@Shaun-o8g Forcing the AFL coaches to walk through the opposition crowd is definitely more exciting than bland. Beauty is in the eyes of the holder. You can say whatever you like but the major is against you.
Not been to Optus Stadium but it does look amazing. Adelaide Oval is incredible. Well worth the visit. I am sure when you get to top 5 or so there is really nothing in it. I prefer the Adelaide Oval to the MCG, but having said that, I love the MCG (esp. for atmosphere with the huge crowds).
@@Shaun-o8g Says a nobody.
@@thevannmann ohhhh....have I upset you?...let me play violin for you....🎻
Having Optus Stadium 🏟️ at 3 ensures that you have no credibility!!!!!
Yeah should be lower. Boring, bland concrete bowl with LED lights and a horrible surface.
Been to both, Optus shits on the MCG @@davidlewis2464
It’s typical VicBias nonsense.
You guys have obviously never been to Optus, it is state at the art best technology it fills 60000 people and the atmosphere is amazing
Should be #1.
