Dragons fan here. and i thought id drop a comment about the hills. We love the Hill and wouldnt trade it for a massive grand stand with cover. Sitting in the hills and both win and kograh is such a good atmosphere and way more enjoyable then sitting in a seat in a grand stand.
Only if the stadium was refurbished to keep some of the hill as a sentimental nod, like Adelaide Oval. When Kogarah Oval is hosting a game on a rainy night with a 30% capacity and people thinly spread across the hill, it doesn't even look like a professional game of the footy. We need to move with the times when we can, and you can get even better atmosphere with a seated grandstand and a roof over your head to reverberate the noise.
Belmore and Shark Park are a hell of a lot more fun to watch a game at than GIO stadium. Even Canberra fans will tell you GIO is diabolical with bad sight lines and fans pushed way to far back from the action. The only regularly used stadium that's worse for actual spectating is Accor.
One of the things with cbus and why it’s in robina is that before the tram there was only busses along the coast line and the the train network ran inland if I remember correctly the stadium when built was at the last stop Since then there is another stop and this train runs all they way to Brisbane as a result with the public transport Network it makes a lot more sense to have at robina also it’s a 5 minute walk away from a shopping centre as well
No question, Suncorp is the BEST rectangular stadium in the country by far. And I agree with those who say Alligent shouldn't count because of the size issue.
To rank Gosford above Cbus on the GC is quite strange... Cbus is modern seating with corporate boxes and facilities. Whereas Gosford, flat seating and you're lining up 20min to do a piddle
You were correct about the idea of enclosung McDonald Jones Stadium. It was dependant on Australia winning the big for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Though i'm of the view that grass banks and hills have had their day. The regional ones are what they are. Regional sporting facilities so they will be pretty basic.
Suncorp Stadium is the best for another reason. You can tell who the players are even high up in the grandstands and I have trouble seeing people or things at a distance. None of the others come close.
I’ve been to most of these stadiums and I must say that the way Suncorp is designed, it holds in the roaring of the spectators. So when someone try’s, you don’t just hear, you feel it.

AAMI park at six, it should be higher for Australian stadiums, on the sole reason that you dont have to be planning a logistical invasion to get to it from anywhere in Melbourne, unlike pretty much any Stadium in Sydney.
Allianz Stadium is the best. HBF Park certainly needs an upgrade and will get one when Perth comes in in '27 or '28. The WA Govt have said there will be upgrades which can only hope is a new western grandstand with suites
Why is hbf park in the list i live in perth and watch nrl and i did not expect hbf to be not only in the list but to be in his top 10 stadiums in the NRL
Anything oval should immediately be ranked lower, here in Bradford we have Odsal Stadium, kinda oval with the outer racing track which held the Speedway World Final in 85'. it also hosted the football team that year and has been the host to rugby in the form of Northern and the Bulls. Had a few 20,000= crowds in the early 2000s but now around 3,000. Did hold the record for a rugby league attendance of over 102,000 in 1954 for a challenge cup final replay until taken by what is now Accor Stadium. And to be fair the stadium hasn't changed much since then.
Tio stadium has an amazing atmosphere, definitely isn’t the worst in the nrl. Only get 1 game a year so it’s a fun occasion. Darwin locals are a good crowd. Games are always fun, with hot humid footy or tropical rain.
WIN Stadium deserves a far higher ranking. Best place to watch football, closest distance from sideline to front row. It’s the best of the smaller stadiums.
There is no way GIO Stadium is better than Kogarah. Also the Dolphins weren’t promoted into the NRL they still compete in the QLD Cup. Allianz is the best stadium Ive been two, followed by Commbank Stadium. I’ve not yet been to Suncorp. First of all, I'm a Warriors fan, but my 2nd team is the Tigers, (I loved Balmain as a kid before we got a team here in NZ) and... yes I know Leichardt is a dinosaur of a ground, and ranked 21 here, but it's my favourite stadium in the NRL.
