This watch isn't worth the price, There are better options available in the market. If it was in the range of 5-6k the story could have been different. But thanks to HMT fanboys this watch is also out of stock most of the times.
HMT has ruined basics of Kohinoor DNA. They should have made this in smaller size without day date window.

I would rather buy a casio edifice than an hmt at this price.Yes they are in right direction with 40mm watches.But the new kohinoor quartz has a better new look.A 40mm quartz kohinoor at lower price would be much better.

An automatic watch the most lovable thing is case back and it should be always see-through case back.
Its nice to be able to see the movement through display windiw and it can be easily provided for dress watches like this with 3 bar WR. For proper divers watch like Seiko prospex, it comes with solid stainless steel caseback.

You can make yourself familiarised with HMT by watching some of the videos I made on HMTs.
I've bought the same Kohinoor automatic. So far I love it. I've an 8 inch wrist so it suits me. I've changed the strap to a grey suede leather strap and it is far better than the HMT bracelet.

Day date both are well visible. Go for Tareeq .... Only date and good shape, size
HMT should consider 38mm watches. Neither too big nor too small.
Also, water resistance needs to be improved. If someone has seen the HMT automatics of the 70’s - the finishing was way ahead of what one sees on current models.
Refreshing to see this iconic brand making a comeback.
The new HMT KOHINOOR automatic is nice, I just wish it was a bit smaller. In my opinion 38mm case size without crown is perfect for a man's watch unless you are a bodybuilder.
I think Timex automatic is better in this price range

In India, people are running behind big size watches, esp young generation. Might be, this is the reason why HMT launched Kohinoor in this size, esp to attract young generation.
In my opinion, we should welcome their this decision (regarding size). But, yeah, they should launch its 38 mm version as well.
Hmt can capture its lost market share if they
1. Introduce kohinoor automatic at 38mm version
2. Prices the watch at 6.5k
3. Come out of their shady selling technique of releasing watches one piece at a time

The messed up, the pillow design of Kohinoor was it's usp.
Cushion case is still there, but it bacame larger in all dimensions.

HMT Kohinoor Quartz is not something that I recommend considering the price. HMT do not have their own manufacturing unit, they are assembling watches with parts manufactured by third-party.

i think they did right by having three different sizes. Otherwise in same size all three machines would have diluted the brand more.

14:43 recently I brought a timex automatic watch cost of 5000rs. It's a good looking watch.
Thats great, overall quality and finishing is better in Timex automatic. Crown smoothness is missing in HMT automatic.

@@Global_Library I keep purchasing Leather straps from various sources, check out the shorts videoa I posted on atraps I purchased recently from CNS. In India, Mr Gautam Haryani has amazing stock of straps.
One of the reasons why I like to buy HMT watches is for the only reason that it gives me a feeling of rarity, now whether the rarity comes from people not buying it, or because their stores/numbers are limited I do not know the answer to that.
The novelty factor is what does it for me.
Sure, at the end of the day, all it matters is if you can establish a connection with your watch or not. My opinion is based on mechanical aspects, facts and figures only.

@@Sc0tophobia if I buy watch purely because of an emotional connection, then I do not care about any analysis. My Rado Diastar purchase at 1.17 lakh was one such decision where I thought by heart.
But if I need to buy a watch for spec, then facts and figures becomes important.

Which is why i keep wearing quartz watches to work
My experience after a week+ of having owned it:
Good:
- the matte blue dial is really striking
- automatic at 9k
- The fact that it's SS
Bad:
- Worst bracelet ever
- the polish on SS case is not great, it's much much worse than the fashion watches people make fun of. This is evident in the reflections. It is SS but looks like chrome plated.
- the markers are not properly applied. One of the markers is half raised and the gap is visible. The QC is horrible. This was my second HMT watch and certainly the last.
- the movement is acceptable, not so good.
- the outer packaging is solid but it came dirty and chipped badly. For me it goes to the dustbin, not in my collection.
All in all, I don't recommend HMT as a brand for the QC issues, especially the visible ones. I wanted a Kohinoor, bought it, but I don't think I'll ever be able to wear it because of the marker issue, it makes it look substandard. I can write with confidence that Fossil watches are much better, and Chinese AliExpress watches at half the price are much much better.

Internal machenism is the soul of a watch for any watch lover.
This is just as a repack of any cheap Chinese phone in an IPhone's box.
People like to move a smoothly running second hand by the spring powered machenism, not by the shock of a battery operated quartz movement.
Only case and dial doesn't matter here.
Iam personally annoying for the business strategy of HMT watches. I got a Kanchan as a marriage gift in 1985 but it was badly scratched out only 3 months latter. They were and are using cheap acrylic crystal even their prime brands at that time till still now. Obviously there was very less competition at that time because the international market was not open as today.
Now you can get mineral crystal below 2k price tag and sapphire below 5k. Many local and global brands are presenting better fit and finishing if we compare from the price point.
Now, HMT watches became only the item of collection, they have no desire to establish this brand. Newly launch DWC watches are far better than this well known brand.

40 mm looks better than 38 mm, my opinion.
Thank you for sharing your opinion, many watch lovers prefer slightly larger case. But due to the cushion type case of Kohinoor, it appears bigger than a regular 40mm case.
