Hi ! I have fixed the Airbag fault by simply replacing the airbag ecu by a second hand one. About 50 €. I have tried the reseter device but the fault came back with the old one. Very sensitive device. Especially when one disconect the battery too often. The replacement solved the issue. At this point the reseter worked as it should.
Keep it going bud. I appreciate its your time and money but always feel a shame when car projects are unfinished and on the back of a low loader never to be seen again. Its good content and really relatable
Vcds would sort it. It would probably be because you disconnected driver or passenger seat or steering wheel battery connected. Then turned key with seat out so brings airbag light. You did take them out if remember right?
Fight on! hate to add to your possible woe, but all the bolts for the subframe and steering rack are one-use stretch bolts from Audi and have to be replaced - telling you from experience due to the previous owner of mine :-(, as the old ones if re-used will come loose / undone - sorry mate
