    Recently got started in wire weaving and wrapping, and just recently stumbled upon your RUclips videos. And I've gotta say these are the most helpful, organized, clear demonstrations of various types of wire weaving that I have seen. Kudos to you making these videos! I watched the other sequel videos to this as well. Very helpful!! :D

      It's called a modified sumac weave. I was calling it everything but the right name, too, but the correct name is sumac. 😂😂😂

    I just wanted to take a moment and thank you for your patient and well-demonstrated tutorial!! I've been doing quite a lot with some of these weaves, but not enough with the others. I needed to review them, and this video presented itself first in the search. I'm so grateful for the fact that it did! Thank you.

    I love that you use it is visible. So much easier to see this way. I’m not sure why others aren’t doing it this way. Thank you, great tutorial.

    Thank you for simplifying an intricate technique. Your demonstration is the best I have seen. It was clear and concise, paced well and you were easy to understand. Your use of two colors and lack of background music were very helpful, too. Thank you.

    Please would you be so kind as to tell me if your base wires are round or square, and whether they are half hard or dead soft. I'm thinking the base wires might be half hard - but I don't want to assume. Love the tutorial by the way! Looking forward to wire weaving!

    • @beadedjewelrydiva
      @beadedjewelrydiva  8 лет назад +1

      Hi Hannah, the base wires are round, and I typically use soft wire -- although I do straighten the wire and so it gets somewhat work-hardened. I am glad you enjoyed the video, and I hope to start back up with some more wire weaving tuts soon. Have a great day!

    Hi! I think this is the style for the earring "connectors"......

  • @pacoblancosmith
    @pacoblancosmith 7 лет назад

    Very informative and easy to follow! One question....how do you "tie off" the weaving wires at the end of the run? I'm sure you have these techniques in your other videos so please just let me know and I'll search them out. Thank you again!! I'm starting a jewelry business using almost entirely recycled wire and copper tubing so this is very, very helpful.

    • @beadedjewelrydiva
      @beadedjewelrydiva  7 лет назад +2

      That sounds so exciting, jewelry almost entirely from recycled copper wire and tubing -- best wishes on your venture! Now to answer your question, I don't really "tie off" in the same sense as tying off in beading. What I like to do is finish securing by making some coils around a single wire, as tight as I can. When I cut the wire, i cut it so that it is between two heaver-gauge wires -- kind of like it's "sandwiched". This will help the thinner wire stay into place better. You can see the technique in my bangle bracelet video: ruclips.net/video/yNrqKISPKUw/видео.html

  • @cherylmartin9223
    @cherylmartin9223 7 лет назад

    I am enjoying the simplicity of the way you teach. I tried to start out with a snake weave from another instructor and it was a bit challenging. This is much easier to understand from the beginning. Thank you. What hardness are you using for your wires in this tutorial. I am finding that with dead soft 20 gauge, my base wires get squeezed by my fingers.so I need a harder wire or am I doing something else wrong?

    • @beadedjewelrydiva
      @beadedjewelrydiva  7 лет назад

      Hi Cheryl, I am glad you found the video helpful! Yes, I do use dead soft, but I usually use 18 gauge wire -- 20 gauge does tend to "squeeze" easily. Ease up a little with the pressure on the rings (I know, easier said than done), but 18 gauge is much easier to use. :)

    Thank you☺ I love the look of weaving, but in magazines it doesn't come across as accessible.
    You are.
    One question, how long a piece of weaving wire do you start with, or how long can it be? I have ended up with either broken or unmanageable. And splicing?
    Again, thank you

    • @beadedjewelrydiva
      @beadedjewelrydiva  6 лет назад +1

      Hi 1926modelagirl, I'm glad I was able to help! Now as to your question: if I am using copper, a lot of time I weave off the spool of wire. However, if I am not weaving off the spool, I generally start with 4 to 6 feet of wire. If you aren't using dead soft copper wire (not coated with anything) then try it; it usually is more forgiving than either colored wire, brass or any of the silver (plated, filled or sterling). Also, as soon as you see a kink trying to form, stop and unwind it; kinks are stress point and can cause your wire to break more easily. I hope this helps!

    • @1929modelagirl
      @1929modelagirl 6 лет назад

      Thank you. I will try with plain wire, I suspect I've been using coated. I also have brass wire, though it is 30ga
