Manual gearbox, manual handbrake, physical buttons, fun to drive car? Sign me in :D Although I would probably not consider ST as I would use the same car for everyday driving therefore road comfort is also important.
Great review. Ford of Europe has done a superb job with the ST models. I grabbed a Focus ST before Ford pulled them from the U.S. market and haven't looked back. The ride/handling/steering is sublime and it's surprisingly refined. Plasticky interior bits would be my only gripe but the Recaro seats are excellent. As someone who previously drove a BMW 330ci and 335xi sedan, I'm still in exile waiting for BMW to build cars with proper steering again. Even then, I will buy a convertible and keep the Focus.
Let's all do our part: call or write Ford US Customer Relationship Center and tell them what their American customers want. If we all contact them, maybe they'll realize it's a profitable business decision to bring the Puma ST 6 spd manual transmission to the US/North American market.
It's a shame that the flawed but bold and spirited Puma from the 90s didn't get a direct successor and that the name is now used for a chubby crossover SUV.
@@ProjectFairmont In my book SUVs are the most useless typ of car. They compromise driving experience and efficiency for (questionable) looks and I can´t see any sustantial advantage.

So overall Puma is not really more comfortable than a Fiesta ST, only larger with a higher sitting position? That's not ideal, I was expecting for it to be a better daily driver, trading some of the handling and sportiness for a softer suspension and a better noise insulation.

Besides your missleading and false views on synthetic plastic interiors being more environmental, sustainable, and even humane towards the animals as long as they are not killed for their leather which is rarely the case depending on the animal reptiles such as crocodiles, alligators and snakes being an exception the quality of the reviews is quite good.
As a start, please tune in to what the animal leather industry tried to do here with our channel: ruclips.net/video/nP_CvLlaFlI/видео.html In general, depending on the animal skin grade, the animals are specifically raised for this matter. However even if meat would be the reason no.1 in other cases, the hide remains one of the most profitable body parts. That means: If manufacturers put animal leather in a car and you accept it as a customer, you give your money to an industry that earns money by oppressing humans, animals and destroys the environment, you make them more profitable. Also, if you turn the argument around "meat is the waste of the leather industry" you realize how biased the argument is. After all, would you care for which body part you would murdered? Or imagine someone robs you on the street and beats you to death - would it matter to you if it was for your Smartphone or for your purse? The animal agriculture industry occupies 2/3 of all farm land on this planet which cannot be used for direct human nutrition then. That is extremely inefficient. The no.1 cause for deforestation is the animal industry. It is also one of the biggest contributor to climate change. The amount of land, resources, energy and water being used is beyond imagination. For the alternative, you can either use artificial fabrics which can be made from recyclables (we have already shown a lot of vehicles that use great fabric seats from PET-bottles etc.) or more and more also from plant-based materials (like Pinatex). And even if you would create a seat completely with petroleum without a recycling share, the amount of oil being used for that is nothing in comparing just to once fueling up your car. In practical reasons, fabric or microfibre seats are just more useful. You do not sweat in summer and it is not cold in winter. Not using animal skin on seats is a major issue of animal rights, human rights - and after all just of common sense what is better both for the environment and just more practical and more luxurious for the customer. We cannot change what we have bought in the past (that also counts for ourselves of course!), but with more information and compassion we can change how we decide in the future.
There will be only electric and hybrid cars in the near future. So this car is definitely not for you. But we petrolheads appreciate the last of classical petrol cars, especially if they are fun to drive. Electric cars will be boring as they have no sound (ok you can have artificial one, but that is lame), no shift stick, are heavy, you "cannot" travel long distance with them, you need to dial down heating in the winter and cooling, are not cars for long term use (battery depletion after few years, and where will you put these batteries they are difficult to recycle :/ ) ...
