What a cool little machine. Behringer has come a long way. I dont know a lot about modular stuff but Seems like a great price for such a thing! Tempting... Loving the second part with the noise creation. It would probably take me about a year to figure out how to use this thing😂
Haha, yes! It is a bit of a complicated device for sure but it’s been a lot of fun to experiment with so far. I’ve also learned so much about modular that I didn’t know before just from having synths like this (and the Crave & Edge) to play around with. Thanks for the kind words!
Best demo I have seen of the unit so far...I have an Edge which I love and the Crave which I struggle with, so I am thinking of dumping the Crave for the Spice instead.
Haha, thankfully they are just bell peppers I cut up and fed to my guinea pigs after filming. My wife does have a stash of Carolina reapers in the freezer that she loves to cook with. Perhaps I’ll use one of those next time 😂.
Good demo. Nice patches. Would love to see you push the envelope (no adsr pun intended) into super dirty, low pitch realms, and run it through some distortion, delay or whatever fx you have. It sounds like it has great potential for industrial type sounds. Thx 👍
Thanks for a great demonstration - patch #1 is my favourite! You could certainly lose a few hours with this synth! Just wanted to check - presumably the spice output is mono? Did you add the stereo panning on your drum machine patch with a mixer?
Thanks so much! Haha, yes. I have lost a good number myself already. It is a mono output from the Spice. I added some slight reverb to the three harmonic patches and a little bit of auto panning to the percussion patch (in the DAW after recording) just to add a bit of dimension to the sounds.
I’d say it’s definitely worth getting into if you can save up some money. I personally feel that the Crave is a perfect candidate for a first analog synth. Also, if you really want to dig into a project, there is a creator called “Robe Music” who made a video where he creates a software emulation of the Moog Subharmonicon (which the Spice is based on) in VCV Rack, which is an open source modular synth environment.
@@AmethystNightmareSynths I'm too scared of modulars, especially vst ones (i need huge screen for it which i do not have), i guess i'm cool, i've got my favourite synths and effects already that can do exactly i want them to do. ye i dream of actual physical synths but i can't save any money sadly, that's why i'm watching videos like this. Besides it's much more convenient to make music using DAW, it's not that easy to record properly at home with no equipment. (i'm from very poor and very shitty country)
Very very nice indeed!!!
bender´s drum machine 👍🏼😝 - like it! "blackjack and synths..."
Superb demos of your Spice patches man! I just got one myself and interested to hear what other folks are doing with it, glad to find this! 🤘🐀
Thanks so much man - excited to hear what you do with the Spice as well!
That first patch is beeeuuutiful

Great demo! Behringer should pay you!

If you struggle with crave you gonna struggle ten time more with spice tuning
@@Malikeththeblackbladee Ah interesting, the sequencer is what interests me the most....and the subharmonics.
Ride on 🧡
Be careful don't touch the peppers and then your eyes.
Oh ya that singular Scoville unit bell pepper going be tasting it twice

Wash your hands BEFORE going to toilet!
Sounds great! Is the audio from the VCA a mono signal of the output ?

Thanks so much for the kind words and the ideas - and I always appreciate a good pun! I’ll try to explore some of those ideas in a future video!

cool synth, too expensive though, i'll stick to vst. but if only i had any money i'd get some analogue
