I am a small private watch collector and I have personally owned both the Luminor and the Radiomir. I bought the Panerai Luminor PAM00111 because when first looking I was told that’s the “best” and “proper Panerai. It truely is beautiful and it has the famous crown guard, manual wind etc. however it is very tall on the wrist, very chunky, heavy and after half a day it hurts my wrist. I like the look of Panerai and the fact they are big. However upon really getting into it I found a Panerai Radiomir PAM00572 which I still have and it’s amazing. Sandwich dial, see through case back, seconds had, big dial but. It’s so thin, fits amazing, I can wear it all day and night and you hardly know it’s there it doesn’t hurt and dare I say I prefer the screw down crown over the crown guard 😅. I know the Panerai community are torn and like the crown guard but I can tell you it can if worn a lot get in the way. Panerai’s are beautiful and I love them but as someone who has owned both. Radiomir won for me.
