this Moriarty is by far, the smartest villain I have ever seen, he never said his motives and he never admits his evilness or plots damn! we need more villains like him
@paulTHEboss BBC Moriarty is garbage.
@@tiaaaron3278 you must be joking lol
@@meapppxd2304 No but Moffat was when he came up with this shit.
He is shit
@@tiaaaron3278 How so? in the books he was the greatest villain in the books
Still waiting for a third one...
Rae Li filming is starting this year
Rdj is still with iron man and guy richie is doing aladin :( like wtf bro
Rae Li yep
Still waiting :(
Rae Li I the release date for Sherlock holmes 3 is comfirmed to be Christmas 2020.
This is actually a flawless movie.
Seriously?r u drunk
@@yusrifourtwenty4944 Nah to me it's really well made. I have watched it multiple times and still don't see what could have been done better. but you are free to voice your own opinion.
Yusri fourtwenty yes yusri clearly u are a guru of film making
@@StormKillzone no man I love it too
@@StormKillzone same
The second was better because the professor was EXTREMELY better than Mark Strong in the first one.
I love Sherlock Holmes 1 and 2! We need a third!
@CoLToNdh Yes I would definitely recommend doing so. A lot of the jokes wouldn't make sense unless you'd seen the first.
enjoyed the first film, though the second one was even better. Everything great about the first film I thought was a step up in the second. Also a lot grittier, which worked well with the film's visually dark look. 8.9/10
Favorite Richie film... Snatch
Yup! Sherlock Holmes 2 was way better than the first one! Each thing was improved in the sequel and that's the way it should be!
I really love it too
As a Guy Ritchie fan, Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch are my favorite films he ever made. The second Sherlock Holmes I honestly thought it was better than the 1st one (which is my favorite). I always love this film and watched it several times on cable without getting tired of it. It's still one of my favorite movies today.
I luuuurve this movie. Moriarty was a great protagonist..
antagonist
Hey Chris if it's possible it would be awesome if u did a review of the BBC sherlock series!
OMG Chris that forest scene just made my heart skip a beat. I think almost held my hand up to try and rewind it!
Phenomenal channel growth Chris well done.
@AbsolutVeidt Screenings do not show trailers. Usually this is wonderful but in this case it would've been nice. Thursday at midnight I will be seeing the opening 6 minutes in IMAX with M:i-4.
Chris, I know you don't watch TV, but please, in the name of all things holy, watch the BBC's Sherlock. It is the definitive Holmes portrait. Each episode is a 90 minute movie.
Yes, do yourself a favor and watch this. Sherlock would have to be the best TV series I have ever seen and probably will ever see.
"Definitive Holmes portrait" LOLOLOLOLOL
It really isn't the definitive Holmes portrait. That's highly overrating it.
@@LordVader1094 It's a dumb,medicore TV show and a garbage adaptation.
This comment didn't age well haha
Thank you for agreeing with me
I wasn't too crazy about the first Sherlock Holmes movie. This, on the other hand, has Holmes' nemesis, Moriarty. Professor Moriarty is the only character in the ACD series to not only match wits with Holmes, but in many ways outsmart him. Jared Harris is the perfect actor for the role, He can be witty, charming and intimidating all at once. His voice is so unique, too.
My favorite Guy Ritchie movie is Snatch, although Lock, Stock is a very close second. They compliment each other brilliantly
"Should one get Stuckmannized?" Do you even need to ask?
Please review sherlock :) the films are good but if you watch the BBC series it's just...WOAH
the movies are better than the bbc series to be honest
Storm 17th Lol
The bbc serious look cheap and boring af
is it really that good,i want to eliminate summer boredom, can anyone persuade me to watch the series?
aggreed
Chris you should review the BBC Sherlock XD
Just saw this again.
Amazing film.
Holds up so well.
Funny, entertaining, deep, satisfying.
Half dozen times. Almost an annual thing now.
Still waiting for the next one. Love the channel and the movie
really love this movie .. hope they make third movie .
Jared Harris is brilliant, Jude Law is good and Robert Downey Jr need I saw more :D
Thank you, now I am even more excited to see this. I loved the first movie, so I should easily be able to enjoy this one too.
Definitely movies you can rewatch once in a while
Noomi Rapace is the original Lisbeth Salander (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), and this will be my first time seeing her in a film (I have not seen the original Dragon Tattoo trilogy, but that's okay, because David Fincher will not let us down next Wednsday).
I loved the first Sherlock Holmes. Looking forward to seeing the second one. Thanks for the review. I was a little skeptical about seeing this one, but you've been right on many many occasions. I trust your judgement!
I really want to see the first because I really want to see the second and I don't want to go in without seeing the first one.
The first Sherlock Holmes it sitting PROUDLY in my Blu-ray collection!! I loved the first one SO much!
I am relieved that this movie is as good as you say it is! Now i want to see it SOOOO BAD!!!
I really liked the first Sherlock Holmes but was wary of the sequel; mostly because I know a lot of people who were lukewarm on the first one and who were trying to drag me down with their cynicism about this one, but now I'm excited for it. Thanks, Chris.
I loved the first Sherlock Holmes!!!!! I Thought it was amazing and I can not wait to see the second. I do think however that these movies are slightly under rated.
Wow, Chris. Your reviews have come a long way!
This was a great movie I can’t remember how many times I have seen it. I really wish they made a third one
Best movie ever!!!!! The second was even way better than the first movie!!! 500000 times better!!!
I love Holmes' camo suits lmao. classic.
I first watched Sherlock Holmes in my history class, and absolutely loved it. My birthday is just a few days after Christmas and I love the movies, so I've already planned to see SH2! I was nervous as I started your review because I really wanted you to like it so I would know as I go into the theater, it's going to be good. I count on your reviews a lot. And I am so incredibly happy you enjoyed this one! Even BETTER than the last! And I am so pumped for the forest scene. Awesome review :)
Surprised! It's Sherlock Holmes! Of course it'll be good! With RDJ and Jude Law! AND MORIARTY!
Sherlock Holmes is awesome. RDJ has one of the best and unique styles of portraying Holmes, can't wait to see this!
Have to say that out of all of Guy Ritchie's work, i would have to say Snatch is my favorite of his then for me it's a tie of my second favorite or his between Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows and Lock Stock, and Two Smoking Barrells
chris are you familiar with guy ritchie's early work? (lock stock..., snatch, revolver, rocknrolla (we'll all try and forget about swept away...)). he is one of my favorite directors of all time but i think his recent movies are shite because he hasn't developed the scripts himself. please if you can find it in your heart and schedule to review specifically, Revolver, my favorite film of his, i would be so grateful and interested in what you have to say about it. thank you, my man.
+Johan v “WithaHornthIsTimE” same here. I loved the previous ones (Lock Stock, Snatch, RockNRolla). Revolver is one of my all time favourite. I used to remember nearly all the lines lol. And as you say, the recent movies haven't been nearly as good. The first Sherlock Holmes blew my mind, and I liked the second one (I liked that they play chess while talking about the evil plan, something similar to Revolver). But "The Man from Uncle" I think had too many "flashbacks" just to show you what happened five seconds ago and is also a little exaggerated with how awesome and great both detectives are. Seriously, sometimes it's like they put Sherlock to shame.
+Johan “WithaHornthIsTimE” v Loved Rocknrolla, in particular. Great cast, great script and loved the style.
I love it when people who think there clever try to paint this film in a negative light. Widen your gaze and be humble
Really psyched to see this! I really liked the first Sherlock Holmes a lot too, plus Guy Ritchie's directing style is so underrated!
Wow I'm so glad you liked it that much! I'm a big Sherlock Holmes fan, and not only of the Guy Ritchie movies, but also of the original novels and series. I really liked the unique style of these modern movies and I just can't wait for the second film to come out! (Pity it'll only come out on january over here...) Anyway, I'm sure you got this a lot already, but you should check out the BBC Sherlock series. They only contain three 1h30min long episodes, so the season's quite short.
Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels......love that film. How about that one Chris?
Great video as usual Chris.
I liked Sherlock Holmes (2009) and, of the films I've seen, I like most of Ritchie's work; Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch and RocknRolla were all great. I thought Revolver was very weird, though.
If I had to choose one favourite, it would be Lock Stock, and I'm looking forward to The Real RocknRolla (2014?)
I really liked Sherlock Holmes and cannot wait for the second. Have not seen all of his films but I'm pretty sure this movie will end being my favorite of his if its as good as you claim (which I'm sure it is).
Screw the top ten list, you need a top 20 Chris!
Enjoyed the first film. Will definitely check this one out too. You should check out the Sherlock BBC TV series, Chris. I think you'd like it.
Stuckmann, you should review Mr. Holmes (2015). It stars Ian Mckellen and it’s great!
Seeing this tomorrow, finally, and can't wait... Really liked the 1st one, and sounds like I won't be disappointed this time! Are you surprised it hasn't performed better at the BO?
Favorite Guy Ritchie movie is Snatch, followed VERY closely by Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. I love the Holmes movies, thought atfirst I'll admit I felt like he was selling out. It really is a departure from his normal work, and I still want to see The Real RocknRolla, but after viewing the first one a few times, I can say that I did have ALOT of fun. While being very different, it manages to be very similar in style, and I loved that. Still though, Wild Bunch please?
How is Stephen Fry in this movie? Also, I loved the first SH, and I can't wait to see this one post-midterm exams next week.
great review...loved the first one...going to love the 2nd one :)
I love you. You completely said everything i wanted to hear and it puts my heart to rest. I am very pleased. I am glad to know that everything i wanted to be there from the first one i really enjoyed is still there and even more so present. Thanks. Now I'm even more excited for the next one.
Definitely wasn't expecting you to give an A for this film.
3:48-3:50 Grapes... Great production design!
I did enjoy Sherlock Holmes 2, however, using Rachel McAdams as a cameo only? Bad move. The film would have had a more novel feel had they used her further than the introduction. Wonderful review of the movie.
Chris, have you read the Conan Doyle novels? if yes, is this movie faithful to the source material (the Moriary storyline)?
@HQBacon Its an early screening! They never play trailers.
OOH I'm so excited to see this! I am pumped that you liked it! And I mean, on a Sherlock Holmes standard, there are a lot of arguments to be made that, while badass, this isn't really, REALLY Holmes. A lot of people turn up their noses because of that, and while hell, I can understand completely, these movies are too much fun to pass up! RDJ is so compelling and brilliant and even if not 'THE' Holmes of canon, it all stands on its own merit. /rant. DEAR LORD. I LOVE YOU AND THIS WORLD! -excited-
Loved the first Sherlock Holmes film, I really can't wait to see this one, especially after seeing this review. After you enjoyed it so much you gave it an A, have you ever given anything an A+? Just wondering.
Lastly, if you like Sherlock Holmes things, I strongly suggest checking out a BBC show called, appropriately enough, Sherlock. You can see it on Netflix or online. It's only 3 episodes long, but each episode is just under 2 hours long, and it really is a terrific incarnation of Holmes.
Chris, is Stephen Fry in this movie? Every website says he is, but i haven't seen one frame of him or anyone ever mention him.
I haven't seen the first one yet, so I won't see this one until I do, but I'm definitely a fan of Robert Downey, Jr.
I think the reason people say you go too easy on movies is that even with the extremely bad movies you always find something you like.
I was a big fan of the first Sherlock Holmes film! I can't wait for Sherlock Holmes 2! My favorite Guy Ritchie film would probably be Snatch.
Chris is there a new Batman trailer? I do see what the comment is you replied to but I only knew about the 6 minute thing. Could you explain?
There is no hesitation on my part, I WILL see Sherlock II on big screen. The first was a big surprise for me, didn't think it would be that good! It ended with me seeing it twice :-)
I think it will open i Sweden this week. My future is set. (Problem is, I wanna see Arthur's X-mas too...)
I love the first movie.
I am looking forward to seeing this before watching Alvin and the Chipmunks 3 Chip-Wrecked.
If the chemestry between Jude & Roberts was good, how did Noomi Rapace and Rachel McAdams work out in the movie ??
I liked the first movie and cant wait to watch this one.
has more action than bourne legacy
Have you seen Young Sherlock Holmes Chris?
I like the first one a lot. My favorite movie by him has to be snatch.
I'm sure this is the same movie, but I always remember the "salt and pepper" fight scene, where every hit he makes is accompanied by a tip on..omelets I think.
Yes it is and it's great, and after he plans out every move he throws one punch and then the tarot card reader just stabs his attacker with a knife
Fav Guy Richie film? Snatch.
i would really like you to review tinker, tailor. soldier. spy. anyways, great review chris.
I don’t know why, I prefer the first
This intro did age so well
You know that not a single book or story written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle has Holmes use the phrase "Elementary, my dear Watson."
Also is this a continued movie from the first? Like a part 2.
What about Rachel Mcadams? Was she good in this movie?
so you're saying it was better than the first one?
i liked the first sherlock holmes excited for this one!
Lock Stock!
Can't wait, looks cool!
Nice review Chris.
~Fantastic review Chris.....I really need to see this first film....I know Im sooo late~
I like both of these movie, this one a bit less than the first, but still had A LOT of fun with it! While Jared Harris does a great job in the role, this Moriarty is inferior to the Sherlock BBC Moriarty by far!
Am I the only one who finds it funny that Noomi Rapace is in this movie, which comes out a few days before the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo remake? Seriously, that is a huge coincidence.
I really like the movies. The only thing I kind of don't like is Sherlock's fighting abilities based on his calculations and deductions. The entire fast forward and anticipate every move is a way too much of a fantasy. It makes Sherlock a Mary Sue-ish in my opinion, plus is so unrealistic that it's kind of stupid. If this was true, then every smart kid would absolutely wreck people in real life. Plus I like the idea that Sherlock for all his strengths in the mind, is just not good in a scrap. It could offer some character ups and downs where his mind always conquers. Maybe Watson could have been the brawler then you have a better counter to the genius Sherlock character.
Both Sherlock Movies are amazing!
and nor can we forget BBC's Sherlock!!! just another AMAZING BBC show!!!
and I just read that a "Sherlock Holmes" show might be in development for CBS!!!!
I also LOVE shows like The Mentalist which if "sherlock-y":)
This movie was released the same day as ghost protocol & MI4 gets all the attention this film is sort of forgotten
i loved the first
You should definetely watch the bbc series "Sherlock". Benetict (I don't want to ruin his last name) is incredible and the first 2 seasons are great.
Favorite Guy Rickie film would be Snatch.
extremely good/excellent movie. I hope they keep it awesome for the third one.
i would say it's the dark knight little brother
Saw it lasr night! IT WAS SOOOOO GOOD!!! It was amazing in every way, A great way to start 2012
@ChrisStuckmann which theater are you going to
Can you do a review of the movie In Bruges and The Inbetweeners Movie?
I loved it too...👍👍👏👏
