He and Weiland are very good friends, Weiland loves him. Chester has always had the groove as well. He's not copying him, similar voices, similar people and fair play to him!
He sounds like that all the time. I'm sure he tries a little to sound like Weiland just because he's heard the songs so many times but I don't think it's disrespectful. They have similar vocals.
Yeah he's always sounded a bit like Weiland, it's just more clear now when he's actually singing Weiland songs. Look up Grey Daze. It's expected when you grow up listening to a band, that will (consciously or unconsciously) shape your vocal style.
Chester has always danced. Videos, shows, etc. He's doing an amazing job stepping into the shoes of a loser who threw his awesome band away.
He is like copying too much Scott Weiland (dancing and all that), maybe because he is a really big fan of the band, but I don't think is the right thing to do, it looks like kind disrespectful.
