Couldn't agree more. That's the thing about people, they go around wanting things to be the same because they just look at it from their interests and perspectives. Not what actually happens to the people they "care" about.
Chester can sing that low growl pretty damn good. He has his Scott voice almost down to a pat1

Anyways, my point is that Chester does a terrific job in STP. I thought he would have really sucked, but when I saw him play, at BFD, it literally blew my mind.
Scott Weiland is and always will be STP. On heroin or drunk he is the band. No one can replace him, just fill his shoes. Its a shame what happened. Anyone heard of John Bonham? He was drunk all the time, but LED ZEP made history. Long live rock and roll !!!!!
I think chester is the best substitute for Weilland, but stp is stp only with scott
Chester once said that he considers weilland an inspiration for him ! and I like LP too!
Bonham never no-showed and cost the band serious money. They need to survive financially as well.
This might be a controversial opinion, but Chester sings this song way better than Scott ever did live. Scott always seemed like he struggled and seemed like he found it hard to keep up during the chorus - Just look at when Scott performed it with VR and STP before he was fired, the band always dropped the key to a lower pitch 'cos he simply couldn't handle it anymore. Whilst Linkin Park is not really my cup of tea, Chester definitely seems to pull off the vocals fronting STP.
I loved this performance! I was pretty mad cuz they didn't play last tho. It wasn't as fun.
Other than that, I think all the people who really know about STP would know that they kicked out Scott Weilland because he was always getting drunk and messing up the band. Chester does a pretty great job too, so stop complaining.
Tbh, as much as love Scott, i agree, but with him it's not just a few songs he struggles with, he seems to struggle with nearly every single one live =/
i have to disagree with you scott's not stp most of the music was written by the deleo brothers and they have every right to the name scott's not STP
