I have NEVER heard anyone cover Ed’s voice so well. Losing Chester was one of the most devastating things to happen to the music industry. What an incredible loss of an amazing talent.
....I don't care what ANYONE says. I have never heard another artist cover Ed & do it justice until now. I have adored Ed Kowalcyzk's talents since Live first broke on the scene in 1988. Chester you are without a doubt perhaps one of the most versatile & talented vocalists I have ever had the pleasure of listening to. You take every song & put your heart into it,..blend your soul with it & give yourself over to the music. You inspire me in so many ways & I want to say thank you for always having the courage to show your limitless talents to the world. I am blessed to have witnessed your raw energy, your light & your passion last August during the Carnivores Tour & cannot wait to see it live again. My husband & I are still reeling in the shared experience. The only thing better was meeting you in person, looking into those warm mysterious eyes and seeing a smile grace your lips as I finally got to say my Thank You to you in person. You took the letter from my hand and safely tucked it into the back pocket of the jeans you wore & then slipped away to read it. For the rest of that night You wore the gift I made for you and then again at the next 2 shows, when I see the photos & videos with it gracing your wrist, I am still left feeling the thrill & such gratitude for your gesture. And by the way, for those of you who have never had the pleasure..his smile lights up a room, and his humility only serves to impress upon a person they are meeting someone truly & absolutely amazing! Love the light within you Chester.
and yes before anyone mentions it..I do realize that the likelihood of Chester reading this post is close to nil..I'm just putting that thank you out to the universe at large & writing it in 1st person conversational perspective. ;)
EveofIsis this is one of the most heartfelt and beautiful comments I've ever read about Chester. I'm so glad you got to meet him and feel his energy in person-I truly wish I'd been able to experience it as well! Thank you for posting such a beautiful comment 🖤
EveofIsis so beautifully said. Thank you and thank you Chester for who you were and forever will be to us. We love you and miss you endlessly. One of a kind.
Very nicely worded! I, too, am grateful that he shared his immense talent, kindness, and hilarious personality with the world. I have been a huge LP fan since the beginning, and also loved the band Live, and Chester did this song total justice. What a fun experience it was to watch this!😀 Although I will miss him for the rest of my life, I will continue to be thrilled by the legacy he left for us all! 💜
Chaz is one of the greatest vocalists of our time. Also one hell of a songwriter, the songs he wrote for LP and DBS are all AMAZING! A HELL OF A MUSICIAN....THIS IS CHESTER BENNINGTON!
So true!! And this is gonna be so Forever! Thank u soo much for this admiration earlier on too.. 8 years after.. we are in totally different place..mind place. But , truth of his limitless talents, skills and creativity and gorgeous personality will always Remain. Such energy and passion and vibes as Chester s , is just one in a billions.. which will never die. It's just not possible❤ Love and miss this fck badass HUMAN so much..
I was just on another video, of a pre-cellphone era show, and the top comment was about the good ol days before everyone was recording blah blah etc etc. And then I find this right after, and it's like, this moment would have been lost. We'd never have gotten to hear it, those of us that weren't there. What a miracle, that some day when we're all old, and begin really looking back through our archived recordings, all the treasures we'll rediscover - and likely share.
I've been waiting for him to do a Live song for years before he died and then I discover this treasure!!! My shitty night just got better. Thank you to whoever uploaded this moment.
I've never heard this song before but now I definitely LOVE IT! So passionate and emotional! Chester's voice is a true art! Miss you, friend, may God bless your soul.
Wow... dude freaking nailed the notes of this song. I mean, album-version nailed it. I don't even think Ed Kowalczyk ever hit those same notes again. Sorry to all you Linkin Park fans, but ChadT, ChadG, and Patrick need to be on the phone beggin' this guy to be the next singer for Live.
I am so glad that RUclipsrs like yourself have these great vids to enjoy he really knocks this one out of the park but he did that with everything he sang he was truly awesome
Woah, great fucking job dude. He sings this song the way it was meant to be sung. Great song by a much underrated nineties band as well, LIVE. Like to hear him cover White discussion by LIVE as well.
Never was the biggest park fan except for hybrid theory which is top 5 greatest album of the 2000's but tbh I had no freaking clue he had Pipes like this. I am very impressed and saddened a great muscian/person could no longer survive this tough place. Everyone enjoy it as long g as you can and be cool just be cool and help make everyone have an easier life anyway you can
Chester Bennington is considered one of the greatest singers of all time. Every time I think I heard the best he could do, I am proven wrong. I suggest you go and listen to his cover of Adele's 'Rolling In The Deep' or Guns n' Roses' 'Paradise City'
@Rich Thomas sorry I'm 56 years old and don't know some of the songs you mentioned.but I heard other cover songs that Chester did. like fire woman . .sex/violence....dead and bloated ....meatplow ....whole Lotta love...hells bells...ect.all were excellent in my mind.take care ooo
@Rich Thomas ok thanks for your reply .I just remembered a video with both Chester and Scott Weiland when Scott was in stone temple pilots .it was when they were younger. they both sang the song dead and bloated.i was very impressed with their performance.you should watch it if you didn't already.i miss both Scott and Chester.im confused about people saying different things about the deaths of both Chris Cornell And Chester. someone said they were killed by the kartel .do you any thing about this? take good care and rip Chester...Scott and my mom my best friend.
@llHyRaXll Give it a chance. Forget about LP & what you wanted it to sound like. MtM was a disappointment and I didn't like ATS at first but when I listened to it from beginning to end (it's a one-track concept record) you'll get the story & meaning of it.
I've got what you said. Yeah, his range is kinda limiteded in LP songs, he has a broader range than that. His versatility is kinda wasted by LP songs style. Like you i'm a fan of them since 2000, they're one of my favorites bands and i enjoy all their albums, i really like THP, especially Rebellion. I would love to hear Chester sings an Silverchair song, maybe Motion Sickness,. Silverchair is also one of my favs bands, i went to their shows in 2003, an great experience. :)
I don't think that his range was limited by LP's style; it was a conscious choice the band made. There isn't a lot of showing off (by any of the members) in Linkin Park, to make sure that no one is outshone by someone else and they're seen as a band, rather than a bunch of individuals all trying to one up each other. It's not just Chester, either. Fort Minor and Mike's solo stuff both show Mike having much more intricate flows, and faster rapping, than he usually did with LP; and there are several videos of Brad having fun in the studio and playing some really good guitar parts.
@Traiannnn yea ppl are so unappreciative just because they are "nu metal" they dont like them. im like screw that they are LINKIN PARK!!!! they have there own catergory
Don't kill me for what I'm about to say but after watching the whole bunch of Chester's live covers I kinda feel like he's wasting his voice with LP (( I love LP, I really do, yet speaking only about Chez he's able to give so much more than that.
Which is why he sang with STP and Dead by Sunrise. I agree with you. Mike was controlling and wouldn't let him stretch his vocals to their most deserved potential.
@@amazingnothingness Mike wasn't controlling and didn't limit Chester at all. According to things Chester said himself in interviews, Mike was the one who encouraged him to show off his abilities, helped him develop his talent and tested his limits. It's just that Chester didn't write melodies that showed his true talent- even in the stuff with DBS and STP, he's far from his limits and not showing his true abilities; that was just the way he came up with things. You can only see how good he was in covers, because then he sang other sings that already had challenging vocal parts and had to try and do them. No one was limiting him other than himself, so don't blame his bandmates.
I have NEVER heard anyone cover Ed’s voice so well. Losing Chester was one of the most devastating things to happen to the music industry. What an incredible loss of an amazing talent.
This man could sing whatever he wanted. He will always be my biggest inspiration. Love you Chester.
Agreed!😃
Concordo com você. Existem ótimos vocalistas , mas para mim, o Chester foi o melhor de todos
No matter who he sings with, Chester always shakes hands with fans
The King of vocalist conquers all kinda rock songs .
Hr could sing anything!!!
True..he could sing anything!😀

Oh. My. God. Chester singing THIS song? Damn. My head just exploded.
Chester "the chameleon" Bennington !!!!
His lower register in the verses is brilliant.
I have chills…this is amazing! We love you Chester ❤
I was in a bad mood tonight but listening to his beautiful voice with this song definitely turned me into a good mood ❤️
This is a pearl. I was listening to Live way before Linkin Park and this blew me away....
Chester, a man with a thousand voices... R.I.P. Angel!
Of all of Chester's cover's, this one was made for him. Perfection. #MakeChesterProud
I come back to this cover all the time. He sounded so fucking good on these types of songs!

Man, this is a TOUGH song to cover ... and this one has to be one of - if not THE - best covers I've heard of I Alone. Very nice!
Still missing him and his vocal talent. Im sure he can sing any genre of music and do it perfectly!
I've been waiting for him to do a Live song for years before he died and then I discover this treasure!!! My shitty night just got better. Thank you to whoever uploaded this moment.
Oh my god, I love this man so much!
He had so much more range look how much fun he is having here crazy singing the 90s man much love
Awesome cover. Poetic and accurate in all phases
OMFG... Now I imagine Ed and Chester duets!!!
YES!
I agree, thats why I LOVE these shows! you never know who will show up or what songs they will play
I've never heard this song before but now I definitely LOVE IT! So passionate and emotional! Chester's voice is a true art! Miss you, friend, may God bless your soul.
Mari Khorsheva take a listen to this and more songs, like dolphins cry, it’s by a band called ‘live’.
It's not his song thou but it's Chester the original is great also
Say what you want about Linkin Park or Bennington, this man is one of those i respected.
Absolutely nailed it. If we didn't have video to go along, I'd have no idea this wasn't Ed himself.
Chester nailed it, Awesome cover
I never seen this. Live....favorite group. Favorite song by them. He does a great job.
Damn - love you Chester - this is such an amazing performance!!!
Omg I never knew he did a cover of I alone!!!
Dear God I've got goosebumps!!!!!!!
i love to hear him and he did live justice for real

Chester nailed it! I love live and it's an awesome song, but this is a very very good version as well.
I LOVE this guy!
So beautiful and talented!❤forever Chester
Wow... dude freaking nailed the notes of this song. I mean, album-version nailed it. I don't even think Ed Kowalczyk ever hit those same notes again.
Sorry to all you Linkin Park fans, but ChadT, ChadG, and Patrick need to be on the phone beggin' this guy to be the next singer for Live.
Such a powerful voice when he sings!
Sounds so good Chester. I wish I saw you live like when I saw Scott Weiland way back.
I am so glad that RUclipsrs like yourself have these great vids to enjoy he really knocks this one out of the park but he did that with everything he sang he was truly awesome
wow chester and travis barker on stage together is a wild sight
Simply amazing.

Another masterpiece, but really....what else would we expect from Chaz....if Em is the Rap God, Chester is the Rock God.
So talented love and miss you Chester

Every cover he does is better than the original 🤘

Chester Bennington is considered one of the greatest singers of all time. Every time I think I heard the best he could do, I am proven wrong. I suggest you go and listen to his cover of Adele's 'Rolling In The Deep' or Guns n' Roses' 'Paradise City'
amazing best voice
Not to be gross, but I totally pissed my pants. This has been one of my favorite songs since I was young and hearing Chester sing it

I'm a huge Live fan! He does such a great job on this song! Fucking Great!

this song with Chester was fantastic. I'm at a loss for words.it was that great 👍 👌 😕 🙃 😅 😐 👍

impressive
Chester could have sang "You Lost That Lovin' Feeling" and made it an interesting interpretation. RIP

@LPcougar - I tend to agree - but this was pretty effing awesome!
@StayWeird I agree! He doesn't take over enough in LP. He needs to be in a band where it's just his vocals and his lyrics. (:
Is that Napoleon Dynamite singing backing vocals? Nice cover. Chester does a lot of these songs justice. He's up there with Corey Taylor.
Encantada😍
i still love the origional

Wow!

The original band is called Live.

@ExtremeStud
Greatest singer ever? Hardly. Really damn good cover of this song? Absolutely!
я рыдаю.
Chazy 3
@tom91381 and he killed mountain song
This is actually a damn decent cover to say the least, doesn't quite top the original, or when Live does this song with Chris Shinn.
