    I have never seen a pair as good as Bart and Thor. Very inspiring. As I get further along training my all-black GSD, I see a lot of these "tricks" are deeply bred into these dogs and comes quite natural to them. They absolutely love working for their leaders. Anyone who watches this video and can't tell that this dog absolutely loves this, just doesn't know GSDs and Malinois. I love all dogs, but these are not like a dopey lap dog, and they would not be happy with a "pet"s life. They Need Work.

    One of the best dog trainers in the world, it’s sad so many people have screwed up how people view e collars, when used properly they are one of the best tools available and also one of the worst in the wrong hands. Obviously people with negative comments don’t have any clue on proper use of the tool.

    that can be trusted in all circumstances.

    For alllllll the chatter abounding around the “balanced trainer” concept (or worse, label), Bart’s and Michael’s NePoPo doctrine-especially when being executed and exhibited by them-is a truly “balanced” system…hell, it’s in the dang’d name, eh!? But I don’t mean simply a properly proportioned “balance” between positive and aversive stimuli, but rather using aversion and inducements in ways that cultured a balanced dog, a dog with balanced nerves, drives, motivation, and above all a balanced brain and resultant cognition! Don’t we all want the same in our programs and praxis?! The Bellons have spent decades helping trainer-handlers answer the How? And Why? for us. Let me suggest one simple balance that I believe, in
    my confessedly insufficient knowledge of them and their system to suggest I’m expert in either, that provides a sort of macro-system influence, which is a balance between the best of the present AND past knowledge and philosophy of working dog art and science, heart and soul, and weds those two times in a way that defines the future of dog training for generations! Gratitude and congratulations from us, Mr & Mrs Bellon!

      It's done with shock and escape avoidance training. Google NEPOPO. Not my idea of a willing dog - too pressured and it's actually a bit uncomfortable to watch. If you watch Mario Verslype's work, the difference in the demeanor of the dogs is telling.

      sequoyahbean That is *not* escape and avoidance training. Escape and avoidance is training by putting the dog into an aversive situation, and then demanding a behavior to get out of it. That is not at all what NePoPo does, and Bart himself even talks about that approach being incorrect. If you watch Mario Verslype and *maintain objectivity*, there's no difference in demeanor.

There is no reason to use electric shock to train dogs. Plenty of people train dogs without resorting to compulsion and avoidance training.
      And yes - I know people go to pseudo trainers and pay money to learn how to expertly shock dogs. That’s one of many reasons mondioring and IPO handlers have a horrendous reputation. They will do anything to a dog just to get quick results. Kind of pity for the few who actually do the hard work of training a dog humanely.

    • @turboblenderofficial4684
      @turboblenderofficial4684 3 года назад

      @@viviencooksley6096 I think you are misinterpreting something wrong: the tail. The tail tells everything. A dog trained with cruel methods has its tail between their legs, not pointing up in the sky. Why do you think I am an idiot? The tail tells everything I need to know. In the presence of a stick the dog works with his tail pointing up in the sky. If the dog was mistreated he would look so miserably that the trainer will not want to show him. You are clearly ideologically motivated, not an objective person. If you show this to any objective person he will not find anything wrong in this video.Yes, dogs have feelings too, I admit it, but when you say that big dogs can be trained with zero compulsion whatsoever, you sound like a scandinavian lunatic, sorry. Also, I dont see a point of communicating with closeminded people, so, please, dont try to continue this stupid conversation.

    • @viviencooksley6096
      @viviencooksley6096 3 года назад +1

      @@turboblenderofficial4684 Nope. A scared dog has its tail between its legs. An aroused dog does not. The response to unpleasant stimulation is not fear. Here the dog wouldn’t be afraid since it is relieved when the uncomfortable stimulation ends. That’s actually how negative reinforcement works. You are avoiding unpleasant stimulation - which is relieving. What it also does is completely remove free choice from the dog’s repertoire. And you are adding negative stimulation before it being removed. So it is cruel and unnecessary- and it produces obedient dogs, not dogs that are creative and think for themselves. You just get stupid functioning robots that will do anything just to end negative stimulation. If you bother checking with internationally recognised standards of humane training - whether it’s LIMA or LIEBI or the Humane Hierarchy by Dr. Friedman, you will see that in all systems negative reinforcement is very high up on the degree of aversiveness. Humane trainers will avoid it as much as possible. This guy has made it the “go to” procedure for things that could have easily been taught with positive reinforcement (which is widely recognised as being non-aversive).
      Basically it’s compulsion - which is the worse form of abuse.

Do you mean using purely positive punishment or using purely positive reinforcement...or are you referring to "positive" not mathematically but ethically??? No idea what you understand under that term. I personally use scientifically sound methods that create as little fallout and causes as little distress to the animal as possible. Generally, I want my animal to have free choice not be forced into anything by discomfort or pain. Perhaps that answers your question? I might add, that the torture devices used by Bart Bellon are forbidden by law where I live under the law prohibiting animal torture. That is what the law is actually called: Prohibition of animal torture. So if this supposedly "very gifted trainer" were living here...he would stumble into problems because his preferred tools for teaching animals (Shock collars, pinch collars etc.) are ALL illegal here. And guess what - we get by fine without them. My main coach Bettina Ogris(Austria) makes the top ten in the FCI obedience world championship and uses none of these devices. That is all the eCollar does - inform the dog when it is off track so it can get to the reward faster (and with much less frustration). A dog that's full of fear will never play. You can't even read a dog.

    The most gifted machine trainer as long as you don't mind machine abuse. Oh, darn.. It's a living dog... Ok - then I guess it's animal abuse instead.

      Apparently you can't read dog body language - that dog is in drive, and is having a fun! A dog with those genetics is going to have that level of intensity whether it is channeled into a dog sport, or channeled into tearing up a couch. Much better to channel that energy and drive into something fun for both the dog and handler.

      OK brainless, you clearly have no understanding of what you see, or dogs, or training. Just see a "shock" collar (hint, they don't shock, and he's using negative reinforcement at low levels). So buhhh bye now.

      I see a dog that is trying very Hard not get punished, it is clearly not working cause it wants to. Ever heard of positive training? I like My dog, i dont shock him to show off.... You wanna Zapp your dog, fine. Hope it bites you back....

      You're brainwaished. I train with positive methods, so um, yeah I've heard of it....and I don't see that at all. Because wait for it..he's not punishing the dog with the collar! It's called (if you would research before being an armchair 'trainer'...) NePoPo. Negative positive positive. The collar is on very low levels, and using negative reinforcement. He's not "Zapping" his dog. He's one of the best trainers for protection sport dogs on the planet. Do you see the dog ??? He's in drive, and excited to be working, and HAPPY. That is what counts. So shush. Go learn some more. There's a ton of ecollar trainers that suck, go troll their videos.
