Torture doesn't have much to do with training. In most civilised countries these torture devices are actually banned because animal cruelty is not permitted.
To call it torture you clearly don't understand the tool. I find dogs hate Head Halters much more than eCollars used at the levels these trainers use them at. To quote the Romans, abusus non tollit usum - the abuse of a tool is not an argument against its proper use.
@@leaannsavage2231 You are probably referring to the use as described by Schwitzgebel (negative reinforcement). Frankly, if the tool were CONSISTENTLY only used on very low settings, there would be no reason to have the tool be able to produce high settings. If the intention were to never use them abusively(as positive punishment), the way they would be constructed would be different. There are several studies proving the possible detrimental effects of these torture devices - just read them if you really care.
@@leaannsavage2231 P.S. You asked somewhere else if I am a "pure positive trainer"... I do not know how you personally define "pure positive trainer" - so it's impossible to answer truthfully. "Pure positive trainer" is not a clearly defined scientific term relevant to this profession. Do you mean using purely positive punishment or using purely positive reinforcement...or are you referring to "positive" not mathematically but ethically??? No idea what you understand under that term. I personally use scientifically sound methods that create as little fallout and causes as little distress to the animal as possible. Generally, I want my animal to have free choice not be forced into anything by discomfort or pain. Perhaps that answers your question? I might add, that the torture devices used by Bart Bellon are forbidden by law where I live under the law prohibiting animal torture. That is what the law is actually called: Prohibition of animal torture. So if this supposedly "very gifted trainer" were living here...he would stumble into problems because his preferred tools for teaching animals (Shock collars, pinch collars etc.) are ALL illegal here. And guess what - we get by fine without them. My main coach Bettina Ogris(Austria) makes the top ten in the FCI obedience world championship and uses none of these devices. The world champion is from Finnland (another civilised country which has banned animal torture disguised as training).

@@viviencooksley6096 if eCollars didn't have the high setting, they could not be used for training such as snake avoidance training. Food treats aren't going to prevent a dog from getting bitten by a Rattlesnake. Rattlesnake avoidance training is not abuse. I find it hard to believe you are really so kind towards animals when you are so sarcastic and mean to humans. "if you really care" that kind of sarcasm is uncalled for, and not nice.
I would be impressed to see if Bart could do all these things without the e-collar on. I've seen dogtrainers do this only with positive reinforcement. It's far more honest to the dog, and way more impressive. I don't really like the stress Bart's dog is under (the whining). However, I don't say he is a BAD dogtrainer. I just don't like his fondness for tools.
He is not using an e-collar here. But certainly has used corrections to get the do proofed so well. What you are seeing here is a completed proofed dog, that is impossible to achieve with r+ only.
LinaVH imagine you and I are in a room, and I have something in mind I want you to find/touch and we decide to play the "Hot Potato / Cold Potato" game, but I can only say "hot potato". HOW FRUSTRATING would that game be as you struggle when I get silent. How much easier (and more fun) would the game be if I could say "cold potato" when you are off track. That is all the eCollar does - inform the dog when it is off track so it can get to the reward faster (and with much less frustration). I feel sorry for smart dogs who are struggling to find the right answer in a "pure positive" environment where crucial information is withheld from them...
A dog full of fear. That mumble after the commands is from the trauma of receiving the shock from the electronic collar. And all the people commenting here that it is a "wonderful" obedience. Bart Bellon will never dream of winning an IGP world tournament.
Apparently you can't read dog body language - that dog is in drive, and is having a fun! A dog with those genetics is going to have that level of intensity whether it is channeled into a dog sport, or channeled into tearing up a couch. Much better to channel that energy and drive into something fun for both the dog and handler.
i bet i could get this guy to do tricks to do all kinds of tricks to if i put a shock collar on him to.... i have just reported this video for animal cruelty
You moron, as if...presumptuous to say you could get the same level of training. Um, and why don't you look at the dog before you cry cruelty?? Does the dog look at all abused? SMH
OK brainless, you clearly have no understanding of what you see, or dogs, or training. Just see a "shock" collar (hint, they don't shock, and he's using negative reinforcement at low levels). So buhhh bye now.
I see a dog that is trying very Hard not get punished, it is clearly not working cause it wants to. Ever heard of positive training? I like My dog, i dont shock him to show off.... You wanna Zapp your dog, fine. Hope it bites you back....
You're brainwaished. I train with positive methods, so um, yeah I've heard of it....and I don't see that at all. Because wait for it..he's not punishing the dog with the collar! It's called (if you would research before being an armchair 'trainer'...) NePoPo. Negative positive positive. The collar is on very low levels, and using negative reinforcement. He's not "Zapping" his dog. He's one of the best trainers for protection sport dogs on the planet. Do you see the dog ??? He's in drive, and excited to be working, and HAPPY. That is what counts. @@viviencooksley6096 - I will have to discontinue our conversation because I can't discuss a tool rationally with someone who labels it a torture device. Again, to quote the Romans, abusus non tollit usum - the abuse of a tool is not an argument against its proper use.
I just don't like his fondness for tools.
the whining isnt stress the dog is leaking drive
Look at all the other body language and you’ll be able to see that it’s drive and anticipation, not stress.
Zero stress happy dog.
A dog full of fear. That mumble after the commands is from the trauma of receiving the shock from the electronic collar. And all the people commenting here that it is a "wonderful" obedience. Bart Bellon will never dream of winning an IGP world tournament.
A dog that's full of fear will never play. You can't even read a dog.
@@JacobBlom-i6q You do not understand anything about dog's training 🫣
The most gifted machine trainer as long as you don't mind machine abuse. Oh, darn.. It's a living dog... Ok - then I guess it's animal abuse instead.
Apparently you can't read dog body language - that dog is in drive, and is having a fun! A dog with those genetics is going to have that level of intensity whether it is channeled into a dog sport, or channeled into tearing up a couch. Much better to channel that energy and drive into something fun for both the dog and handler.
@Cold German Beer I don't think you understood my point.
@Cold German Beer Have a nice day.
i bet i could get this guy to do tricks to do all kinds of tricks to if i put a shock collar on him to.... i have just reported this video for animal cruelty
You moron, as if...presumptuous to say you could get the same level of training. Um, and why don't you look at the dog before you cry cruelty?? Does the dog look at all abused? SMH
I could get you to do just aswell as that dog if you had a shockcollar og you daft bitch
So shush. Go learn some more. There's a ton of ecollar trainers that suck, go troll their videos.
