I thought the plane quality was pretty good overall. The seats had enough cushion, were clean, and well-maintained :)

Can they fly over Russian airspace?! Does that make the total time shorter?!
Yup. Chinese carriers are flying over Russia which gives them an advantage over other airline. Virgin recently killed their London-Shanghai flights because of this.
I'd say more, they have flights to Russia: MU591 MU6019 etc
