They’re a great “Baby’s First” rock band, especially for the 10-15 year old demographic. The makeup, the mystery (if you grew up in the 70s), simple songs with catchy choruses and loud electric guitars; it’s all there. As you get older and music taste grows, KISS looks pretty silly lol. But that’s part of the charm, very much like the DC or Marvel superheroes.
I still got my Love Gun record WITH the paper gun. Have all my Kiss records (first thru Unmasked) still with all the merchandise flyers , live album programs and tattoos that came with them. Damn , I’m getting old.
I've still got all that stuff too, including the KISS sleeping bag, radio, 12" MEGO dolls, lunch box, etc. KISS used to bigger than music. Sad what they've become post reunion.

Always kinda loved how a lot of musicians, especially ones who grew up in the 70s/80s, have a similar attitude towards KISS. Initially they’ll poke fun at the silliness, which is fine and I do as well (and I’m a huge kiss nut), but at the same time they know all the songs very well and was obviously a fan.
A great example, for those building roots, that they are ordinary people just like all of us. Through years of playing they know how to find it. So put in the time, eventually you'll just be having fun!
