I’m sorry but these are the girls posting unrealistic pictures on Instagram, Facetuning, showing themselves as perfect... they’re the ones we compare ourselves to.

‘If Instagram broke down who would you be’ - as someone who rarely posts to social media I simply cannot get my head around thinking like this.

I can understand why people look on Instagram and compare/look at Insta models as "goals" but idk I feel like you need to firm the fact that it's not real. Even without the editing, those pictures are so skilfully done whether it be taking 30 mins to get the right angle or whatever, it's not an accurate portrayal of life. Hence why I look at it and get inspired, but 99% of the time it's water off a ducks back. What does get me down is everyone I see walking down the road in front of me, or friends that all have hit that jackpot looks wise and you can't escape that. You can turn off your phone, delete Insta, but life around you still goes on. That sucks tbh.

I disabled my Instagram a month ago. The only social media I have is RUclips and Reddit but I rarely go on them. I've felt like I've found more peace and love for myself since disabling Instagram, it's truly a relief.
