I wonder about this. I don't feel comfortable talking to strangers. Like it's just stressful and I am usually wrapped up in my own thoughts. So, if someone picked me up from the airport and I did not talk with them I'm guessing that would be considered rude. Also, it kind of sounds like it was your job, and it was what was expected. It's just strange these kinds of perspective shits. Like everyone is the same so you can assume if you want to talk to someone and they don't want to talk to you it's a slight.

Carlin was a Genius that made you laugh while making you think about the world. He would have Decades of material with what’s going on today. The Truly Remarkable Thing is that 95% of his material is Still relevant today.

Fibber McGee and Molly is one of my favorite comedies along with My Favorite Husband starring Lucille Ball . I highly recommend giving radio a chance. Its so much better than tv!!
I remember my grandpa playing an old 8mm reel with the original Steamboat Mickey and Bugs Bunny cartoons! 😁 I miss that time! The 70's and 80's were great! Back before cancel culture and social media!

I'd forgotten that he did the voice of Thomas. I like to think that reading those charming scripts gave him just as much comfort as they did children such as you growing up. Ringo did the voice for the UK version, now that I recall. May have had the same peace with smiling Thomas.
When I was a teenager I bought George Carlin's comedy album. It was hilarious and I have loved him since then. He did a routine about a man who had a beard. He was talking about an older man who apparently didn't approve of it. He told his wife, "He's got a BEARD, Marge, a BEARD! My mom thought that was so funny, and throughout my adult life, she and I used this as comedic relief. She was 93 when she passed, but she still loved George Carlin.
Never heard of George until an 12 years after his death..I’m 62,living in Ireland and George Carlin is my favourite comedian of all time..he was ahead of his time and boy do I wish he was still around to watch and comment on the circus that is called MAGA and the clown that is their leader..RIP George ✊️

My brother and I asked our parents for a copy of FM & AM. We listened in our room and laughed hysterically. My mom later told me that she and my dad heard us laughing and wondered what was so funny. So they waited until we were gone and played the tape and thought it was hilarious, even though they kind of regretted buying us something so dirty. She didn't tell me until years later.

Anyone can get on a stage and perform another person's material and not pay royalties, as long as they do not ask for a percentage of the ticket receipts. The venue is responsible for paying the royalties since they are the one's profiting off the performance. The performer is just getting paid to do a job. And, you don't pay the artist directly, you pay a fee to a collection association like BMI or ASCAP. They pay the original artist. Can take years in some cases to get paid. Works the same way with musicians, but musicians have sheet music that covers them if another artist uses their song. You're violating their copyright on the sheet music. George took that idea and applied it to his material. His books are his routines in written form. If you use his material, you are violating the copyright on the book and can be sued.

I grew up listening to George Carlin and Cheech & Chong comedy was actually funny back then and didn't care who was offended. Even more mainstream comedians rarely cared who they offended it is just humor and should not be taken seriously. Now most people seem to look for excuses to be offended and true humor does not exist. I didn't mind Eddie Murphy and other "black" comedians making fun of white folks it's humor grow up people.

Now most people seem to look for excuses to be offended and true humor does not exist. I didn't mind Eddie Murphy and other "black" comedians making fun of white folks it's humor grow up people.
