- George Carlin speech at the National Press Club (May 13, 1999)
"George Carlin delivered a humorous speech in which he made fun of Washington politics and the language of politics. He also talked about America's penchant for euphemism and about labeling minorities. After his remarks he answered questions submitted from the audience." - Приколы
George was more than a comedian. He had genius levels of perception and wit. One of a kind.
And huge fucken balls of steel
in the eye of a stupid casual american thats true....
He was awesome
😅😅😅😅
The proper term for his style is "humorist". He was a humorist. He talked about real non-fiction events and philosophies, but just made it all funny. A comedian usually just makes everything or most things up.
He did his entire bit without swearing and it still hit hard. This was a once in a lifetime philosopher.
Name someone else who could smash on c-soan 2!
Razor-sharp mind. There aren't very many like George. How he can skate through an entire monologue/show without ever momentarily losing his train of thought, or referring to memory cards is amazing.
no swearing? shitski... I better go someplace else. . my dad never cursed...27 years in the army...amazing... and I learned early on that cursing had to be done elsewhere... riding in my brother's sports car, no top... moving his stuff from his college dorm to new digs in Washington DC... raining to beat the band... and I found out I wasn't the only one doing it elsewhere...I learned some new words that day..
however... if George Carlin can do it... so can I....
no news in recent years George...RIP brother.. same shit... different day... and...more expected tomorrow... RIP George... no worries mate... no worries at all
The philosopher, definitely something many don't appreciate or grasp. One of the greates even.
He's awesome. Although I think he's wrong on certain subjects.
As an Englishman, this man’s like will never be seen again. He truely was one in several billion.
Funny how an Irishman would become one of the greatest speakers for atheism, haha.

When your convicted & sure of yourself, remembering the truth is easy. It's Liars that need a script, just like religious people on Sunday.
Actually, he made a reference to keep the script rolling, meaning the teleprompter. Yes, he knows his quips by heart, but he also had the promoter today. When he brought up the manuscript to read his poem, he still read from the promoter.
Memorizing is what all actors, comedians, concert pianists do. It's, Carlins', devotion to language usage that's impressive, he must have read twice as much as he wrote.

"The problem is really with the politicians, the celebrities and the lawyers. And although their level of insincerity is astonishing it's still kind of fun to hear them talk." ~ George Carlin
A fan of Carlin's since the 80's, that's one of the main reasons I dislike advertising and "news" (and avoid them both as much as possible). Their astonishing but ever-present insincerity are sickening. Dishonest is dishonorable and it seems our species is running out of dignity in too many areas.

Shows a formal education means nothing. He's intelligent, eloquent and sharp.
Formal education CAN mean nothing ... it is not automatically so, although in these days it is mostly a bunch of indoctrination and narrow-mindedness.
"Formal" education may mean nothing but REAL education is important and vital. But remember formal education is not so much about math and reading as it is about socialization, building your emotional IQ.
A formal education does means something, It means you were educated according to certain standards. What you do with that education though is what matters and yes you can do nothing with it. Also & what I believe you mean is, formal education is not the end all of education. One can become educated in many ways and not just formally. George Carlin really displays his understanding of the English language in this video. It’s so fun to watch him show off the verbal gymnastics that we as Americans use to deceive, generalize or provoke one another. A display of true intelligence. Personally I don’t think anyone else, not even a professor in this confusing and bizarre mutt of a language could address these issues with such charisma and sincerity. Shit I suck at speaking and understand this language and I’m a native speaker from the US! I don’t know I’m just kind of going off in this comment section for no reason other than the fact that I just want to express my appreciation for this iconic comedian. I also don’t know how to end off this long winded appreciation post other than, if you read all this bullshit, thank you for spending a minute or two (or five) reading my comment. Sorry for my lack of proper punctuation and grammar. Most importantly, if you haven’t already, take a bit more of you free time watching more of George Carlin the late great comedian that really embodies what being human is all about, regardless on your views on politics, religion, race, intelligence, class or maturity. He tells you what he sees how he sees it. That seems to be a rarity in civilization, even going back to the Roman Empire. I’m now just spiraling again so I’ll shut up but feel free to comment on this and we can start a discussion appreciating this human anomaly, in the sense of being able to go through hardships and comeback from them twice as strong and teach his audience how foolish language is and to become more accepting of each other to work against the real evils of society. Again sorry for the small essay but thank you for reading. Hope you have a great day, morning, afternoon, evening or night.

And with his death ended the age of reason
Nah ... that ended with feminism, which is basically "communism with the McGuffins replaced", an ideology based upon an EMOTIONAL ARGUMENT which they only ever try to "prove" by selectively limiting the data they look at.
For example: "1 in 4 homeless is a woman ... we must do something about that" OR the "you can grab them by the p...." selective edit of a quote from Trump, which is missing the "and they let you do it" part, which is the REAL message of the quote, because Trump was talking about the CHOICES women make, while feminism PRETENDS he was speaking about "a hobby" of his.
and awesomeness
Dear Kirin Kappa: I agree with your sentiment, but think about how SICK our Society is when Reason must be defined by a stand up comedian rather than a Public School Teacher. If our teachers tried At ALL to teach our children about Critical Thinking, then comedians like Carlin would be superfluous, wouldn't they ??? ... jkulik919@gmail.com
@@Muck006 Dear Muck: I feel the same way. I think that the original Feminists in the 1960's would actually reject what Feminism has become. All I can ask modern day Feminists is: "When will women finally take responsibility for their own lives and stop blaming men for their own foolish decisions ??? " ... jkulik919@gmail.com
@@JosephKulik2016 This would make sense; if you used proper punctuation. If Carlin were still alive, he'd "moyduh" you.
24 years later and still counting how this truth shall remain- Be true to your thruth so your truth can be true to you...
Im happy i grew up with a man like George
All.pur experiences make us who we are
"Grow some balls and have a voice "
George Carlin.. 1996
RIP.. legend
This is gold, could easily be released. Man I miss this guy.
Who else is watching the amazing and ohh so talented comedian Carlin during this COVID lockdown? Being a boomer born in '47 I am of his time and was always blown away by his rapid fire delivery and wonderfully on target humor. Listening to this talk I am amazed at how (seemingly) easily and quickly he moves through his talk with apparently no notes, drawn completely from memory. Imagine giving a talk like this with the perfectly rehearsed ease he demonstrated. Wow!
Dwar John , Watching in May of 2022 ! Akways loved George ! Rip !
George Carlin was amazing. Such a brilliant human
An absolute genius in the art of Wordsmith
A voice from the past and still nails it.
“The level of insincerity (of the celebrities and politicians you cover) is astonishing.” I love this man.
