These bikes are not overpriced . Have you ever seen one? Beautifully milled parts, spectacular chrome, and not to mention the leather! The bags on this bike are the softest leather I've ever touched. This bike isn't for everybody. Someday.... Someday......
Damn, I love these bikes. I think the Dark Horse would be a nice addition in my garage. Traded in my Fat Bob for a Road Glide Custom, so now I need another open bike, and this looks like the ticket!
Hey Tony - you're right - my '02 Gilroy Indian Spirit does draw a lot of attention. Its styling remains true to form, but unfortunately, the newest Indian owners just didn't have a powerplant ready, so they popped the S&S into it (albeit with indian covers). Maybe when it craps out, I'll see if the new 111 will fit. Meanwhile, I'll proudly ride my Indian and enjoy it. It was built by some people who tried their best to keep this icon of motorcycles alive and kicking - can't take that away...
Motorcycles and scooters can be rented in many cities. Wearing protective headgear is mandatory for both the rider and the pillion-rider in most cities
They are very expensive, but I read that they focus on quality and exclusivity. I would love to ride one and see if its really worth the steep price. Beautiful bikes tho. Absolutely amazing looking. Have a nice day! ^^
This dealer is not in business anymore. I went there a couple years ago and test rode a new Chieftain. They seemed not interested in selling me one. I ended up buying one at the Ocala dealership, who also opened up the new Indian dealership in Daytona. This video is an old one.
The up side, these are amazingly awesome bikes! We were seriously interested in purchasing a chief vintage, but six Indian dealers nationwide . . .Yeah, I can see driving five hundred miles for service. Also, trying to get a reasonable test ride on a chief was worse than pulling teeth, so thanks again Indian for the wasted drive to the Chicago dealer, which is now closed.
$37,000? Jesus...and now they are like $19,000 brand new and come with that beautiful and powerful thunderstroke engine. I'd hate to be someone who paid $37,000 for the Chief Vintage just a few years ago.
One thing Indian should do other than Victory and Harley is build a sports bike it be in a different category where the other 2 won't go in. Remember the Indian 4? they should go a different path like a modern board track racers and cafe racers just to get the young riders something to look forward to in the future.
I have a 2015 Vintage!! Bad Ass all the way. I also had a Gilroy 2000. This was a lemon all the way. Back then they didn't care about the name or quality. Just shovel them out the door. So many after market crap. The worst thing was the electrical.
Chris Kirkman he appears to be next to kings mountain era bike that was around the price they went for and you are right the Polaris Indian is much more affordable around 21k
I'm to poor to own a Rolex...Got a Casio G shock...been wearing it for 5 years no trouble just one battery replace. I ride a Honda Shadow...same story.
You were right about the paint! beautiful colour's on the vintage, I personally like a lot of chrome as on the Harley I ride around in the beautiful island of Cyprus but the base model classic looks nice too! I have been told my Yamaha Wildstar xv1600 I also ride around and video was based on a early Indian motorcycle?
please dont let the design of victory influence indian old school look. Vintage is top seller for a reason people want that cool old school look. Also the stage 1 exhaust needs to be the pipe the motorcycle comes with the stock exhaust sucks period it chokes the bike and sounds like a sewing machine other than that they are the best bike in the world I owned a victory and now own a Harley and 2010 chief Darkhoese the Indian kicks all their asses no comparison monster bike plenty of power
The Indians here are the old Gilroy Indians that Polaris got when they bought everything. They just needed to sell off the remaining old stock. The new ones have totally different Polaris designed engines and look sharper in my opinion. And a lot cheaper!
That's a kings mountain 105 cubic inches power plus the Gilroys had a 100 power plus Gilroy went out of business in early 2004 kings mountain started building them in 2009 than Polaris in 2011
Polaris Indian motorcycles are not a true Indian motorcycles they are Polaris motorcycles with an Indian badge. Take a look at the link and you will see that at least the original Indian motorcycles were not made in Japan. Harley-Davidson motorcycle were made in Japan from 1930 to 1958 using a factory and HD tooling supplied to the Japanese by Harley-Davidson. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rikuo_Motorcycle So now you have something to tell all of your Harley friends.
New Indians are not real, and are actually Polaris with an Indian badge!? WOAH…I had no idea that Polaris borrowed their Thunderstroke and Challenger V-twins from their snowmobiles, atv’s, and Side by sides to use for the new Indians? I betcha those dirty Polaris execs reused the left over Slingshot frames to make the Indian’s frame…you know because the slingshot is classified as a motorcycle and all. I’m not an idiot, I’m well aware Polaris owns Indian, but your theory/statement on Indian being a “Polaris” is a complete fallacy. If you think otherwise, I’d suggest you reflect. One other thing…why bring up such a comment regarding the new Indian bikes when this video is showcasing the older discontinued 105 Bottle Cap Gen. Indians. While they share the same name, they come from 2 completely different manufacturing plants owned by different entities.
Indian;s are my favorite Motorcycle but they were not America's 1st Motorcycle. America's 1st production Motorcycle was the Orient and there was around 10 others before Indian
Good point. Stupid Corvettes don't have rear seats either. When will these manufacturers of high end custom vehicles get it through their heads . . . Sal Lorio needs extra seats!! If he's not happy, ain't NOBODY happy! LOL
Wow, nice prices. There's 2016 scouts near me for $10,999... i don't know much about indians but it sounds like he's trying to hype up his product that he doesn't know much about. Also, I sense a sunny and 75 harley rider mentality coming from him.
I know you posted this comment awhile ago but I wanted to tell you if you are thinking about getting a scout that they are not made for long trips. my friend went on a long trip and he was constantly stopping for gas. the scout is made for more around town or short trips. I would suggest one of the chief models if you are going on long trips.
Gabby Hayes Those Indians were that price then. If you look at the motor. I believe it is the Power Plus. Which originally came out in 2003 . And that motor was not built by Indian. The price was crazy for not being a true Indian like todays Indian. I have a 2015 Vintage. Willow Green and Cream. Best damn bike i ever owned.
most american guys want indian to work we do.they have to make it look good though.and yes most workers should be able to buy a bike.it is due to underpay for work.thats all
I'm was trying to purchase a bike from Indian, but they're service is so atrocious that I simply cannot justify giving my money to such a terrible company. I walked into the door of their dealer here in St. Paul MN, with money in hand and pre-approved credit for a brand new motorcycle. But the condescending, belittling attitude of their sales staff was beyond palpable. I mean... how do you screw up a sale from someone who already knows what they want, with money in hand and all they simply want to do is ask a few questions and place the order? I could barely get a brochure from the guy and every question I asked was followed up by argumentative, disgruntled attitude. And then when I called the Indian "customer service" line, all I got was the canned "we're sorry for your experience Sir... blah, blah, blah...". There was no sense of urgency, no escalation, no personal responsibility to make things better, no reaching out personally, it was like dealing with the cable company. The level of personal detachment and corporate rigidity was breath taking! I went from feeling proud to feeling embarrassed that Minnesota is the state that this company calls home. I was at the Harley Davidson dealer that's literally across the parking lot from the Indian dealer and the difference is night and day. The Harley dealer's attention and service was AWESOME! They worked with me, answered every question, talked product, joked, gave me a tour of their entire facility, talked about their service, programs, clubs, parties, bike options, showed me their custom shop, their mechanics... they even showed me pictures of their kids and talked about family. When I was in their shop they made me feel like I was the most important person in the world. The Indian dealer unfortunately was the complete and total opposite, which may explain why the Harley dealer is packed from the moment they open their doors to the moment they close... the Indian dealer is almost always empty. I have to recommend to anyone thinking of purchasing a product from this company to think twice... if their service is this bad when you're trying to give them your money, just think how bad it will be after they have your money. I wanted to shop American and more importantly, from a company that's based in my own community. But I've never experienced service that was so poor with an "I don't care" attitude from a company that I walked away sincerely feeling like they simply don't care if I shop their or not. It's no wonder Harley is out selling them 10 to 1. Save yourself some time, spend the extra money and buy a Harley. There's no service at Indian because they simply don't care.
Chris Free Hi Chris, Thank you for your well thought out response, and while I certainly applaud your respectful tone, I must say that you make several assumptions that I in no way tried to imply. I'm not completely sure where you're going with your comments, but certainly making this about "me" rather than my poor service experience, is kind of a smoke screen for you to hide behind while you elaborate on some preconceived notion of what kind of person you want me, and perhaps other Harley Davidson fans, to be. Here is my position; I expect end-to-end full service for my money. Period-full stop. I will never give my money to an organization that treats me like crap. Moreover; I fail to understand why, when I describe my experience, you summarily dismiss and attempt to invalidate me as someone who fits into what you describe as someone looking "for a lifestyle, rather than a product" or as the typical "Harley" life stylist. I can assure you that I have no desires or fantasies of reliving my youth or portraying myself as someone different than whom I am. I like to ride and I have since I was a youngster. The simple fact of the matter is that the dealer treated me like crap and the manufacturer couldn't have cared less. How does me pointing out this poor service translate into me searching for a "sense of belonging"? Simply put... I don't do business with people that don't care about me as a customer. This practice has nothing to do with "wanting to belong", or "seeking a lifestyle" or not caring about the product. This is about END-TO-END product life-cycle management, which by the way, certainly includes the customer. Perhaps this concept is foreign to you, or maybe you don't see the value in it? In either event; it certainly has everything to do with the product and I surely won't attempt to place my pre-judged notions on who you are because of your purchasing beliefs and practices. So, contrary to your thesis, this was not merely an issue with the dealer, it also included the manufacturer for they totally failed to address the issue, much less make matters better. I have to think that you're somehow offended or bothered by my post because you happen to do business with this company and your experience was different. That's cool and I can appreciate and respect your customer loyalty. However; in return please don't make assumptions on who you think I am based upon some preconceived notion that you're attempting to apply to my experience. I'll just chalk it up as a different experience and a different take on a business entity. Obviously you fall more into their demographic of customers that care more about the "product" and less about the experience/service. And again... no judgment... that's cool. I have no desire to be in a club or seek out some commercially glorified lifestyle... those are your assumptions... not mine, never said it, never implied it. I'm just a person that expects that SERVICE is part of what I pay for when I make a purchase. Bottom Line: Indian fumbled the ball. Harley Davidson didn't.
now my faith in indian (ala polaris) has returned...how about kiwiindian.com, have you looked at them? and you said you own or have owned 2 victory motorcycles. fill me in pls, how are they ? thank you npk
These as well as harlies are "life style motorcycles." Nothing like a real modern motorcycle that you can count on not to leak or break. Their funny engines would do better on a farm harvester, or lawnmower.
Nice bikes I recently was at a Harley dealer and one of the late 90's Gilroy Indians pulled up with the dreadful S&S Evo (Old "real" Indian riders are still spinning in their graves that a Harley motor is in a Indian) point is... the bike drew a LOT of attention and was nowhere near as nice as the bike in the video lets hope 2 things first the Victory sylists stay away from the indian and second the bike is price pointed a little closer to sanity than the Stellican Indians were
I love the Vintage but I don't think I could ever justify that much money for one. I would have to become wealthy as hell to just drop that kinda cash on any motorcycle EVEN though I would if I could...I just can't cause I work for a living! I don't own a company or have rich parents!!!! I'M SCREWED!!!
$37000 dont think so way too much catering to the rich not the average buyer, one person said the softest leather he ever touched might be good on a recliner but not real world riding
A beginners guide to Indian motorcycles. First off beginners, there NOT Indians there Polaris with a few parts that resemble a real Indian but there not Indians by any stretch of the imagination.
That Willow Green and Cream Chief Vintage is so beautiful that it hurts to look at it.
then don't
It is one of the baddest bikes ive seen
These bikes are not overpriced . Have you ever seen one? Beautifully milled parts, spectacular chrome, and not to mention the leather! The bags on this bike are the softest leather I've ever touched. This bike isn't for everybody. Someday.... Someday......
They eventually acquired licence for the Li150 series model, of which they began full-fledged production from the early sixties onwards
Enzo is a great dealer. He really knows motorcycles and his dealership is spectacular. You have got to visit when in the Daytona area.
These are "King's Mountain" Indians pictured in this vid, not Polaris.
Now that Polaris owns Indian, I'm hoping to see an entry-level bike available for about $8 - 10,000.
Smart move having separate stores Enzo! I'll be seeing you sometime in August!!!
Damn, I love these bikes. I think the Dark Horse would be a nice addition in my garage. Traded in my Fat Bob for a Road Glide Custom, so now I need another open bike, and this looks like the ticket!
@ 6:07 there are two black indian bikes w/o the saddle bags and the windshields, they actually look better than the one's with.
Hey Tony - you're right - my '02 Gilroy Indian Spirit does draw a lot of attention. Beautiful Bikes!!
The indian chief vintage is like 21k now brand new so they've been steadily lowering the price.
Motorcycles and scooters can be rented in many cities. Wearing protective headgear is mandatory for both the rider and the pillion-rider in most cities
Looking forward to the new models with the 111 engine!!!
Bought a used 2014 Indian Chief Vintage at a great price. Trusted dealer in FL.
Beautiful motorcycles and if I hit the mega lotto I'm buying one!
very nice video.
By the way, if you go to the Indian website, you will see that in the accessories menus, dual seats and backrests are easily available.
Beautiful bikes!
In fact it is a flagship bike, wonderful motorcycle.
They are very expensive, but I read that they focus on quality and exclusivity. I would love to ride one and see if its really worth the steep price. Beautiful bikes tho. Absolutely amazing looking. Have a nice day! ^^
The Dark Horse very Cool Vintage looking bike .
"How to buy an Indian motorcycle"
Step 1: Drain your savings...
I hope they bring back the apache 4cylinder it was bad assed and make a smaller bike for the little fellas to
This dealer is not in business anymore. I went there a couple years ago and test rode a new Chieftain. They seemed not interested in selling me one. I ended up buying one at the Ocala dealership, who also opened up the new Indian dealership in Daytona. This video is an old one.

gr8 interview
These had the 105 cube engine. I love the new thunderstroke 111. and at 23,000 its much cheaper than these.
I hope they drop the prices on them I want to be able to get one

the new relaunch by polaris/victory is priced at 19k.
I wonder if there are any leftover 2013 Indians?
Thumbs Up and liked.
$37,000? Jesus...and now they are like $19,000 brand new and come with that beautiful and powerful thunderstroke engine. I'd hate to be someone who paid $37,000 for the Chief Vintage just a few years ago.
well said!
The Baby blue and white is beautiful

Remember the Indian 4? they should go a different path like a modern board track racers and cafe racers just to get the young riders something to look forward to in the future.
you are not alone..... lol And I rode a 2001 scout that has held its price at 11,000
Cool
They need to add a comment on the video when the price is mentioned that they have become available for 23g and under.
put this paint on a metric cruiser, and its so so. Put a 37 grand price sticker on it and holy shit this is beautiful!!!
Ride one !!!
I have a 2015 Vintage!! Bad Ass all the way. I also had a Gilroy 2000. This was a lemon all the way. Back then they didn't care about the name or quality. Just shovel them out the door. So many after market crap. The worst thing was the electrical.
These bikes do not cost what he said. Chief Vintage is $21,000. Not $37,000.
this was recorded right when Polaris bought indian off
Chris Kirkman he appears to be next to kings mountain era bike that was around the price they went for and you are right the Polaris Indian is much more affordable around 21k
Down to 19,999 now.
I'm to poor to own a Rolex...Got a Casio G shock...been wearing it for 5 years no trouble just one battery replace. I ride a Honda Shadow...same story.

Now you can get the Indians under $19k!
If I had 37 G's to piss away on a motorbike I think I'd be in the market for an "original Indian moto-cycle".
Yet Victories tend to cost more from what I've seen. MSRP-wise anyway.
The Indians here are the old Gilroy Indians that Polaris got when they bought everything. They just needed to sell off the remaining old stock.
The new ones have totally different Polaris designed engines and look sharper in my opinion. And a lot cheaper!

FIXSE FAHRER FAHREN, NSU SS500
Why does the "all American" scooter have a spokesman with a Puerto Rican accent? Turn the sound off and just look at the iron!

How can the owner of the dealership not know the correct price of the bike? Not real inspiring.
Gabby Hayes

the new 2014 indians are 19k!

Chris Free
Hi Chris,
Thank you for your well thought out response, and while I certainly applaud your respectful tone, I must say that you make several assumptions that I in no way tried to imply.

Whatever, lol holy canoly. This a hollywood bike at the moment.
Its too bad Victory is no more
