Just found this video. can't thank you enough. Restoring a 71 jeep wagoneer and putting together the steering shaft together to make sure it looks functional Before moving on to body work.. That was in the back of the Jeep when I bought it.
I love the vega! I've been working on cars since my dad could sit me on the fender and I'm 47 now. I gotta say you make it look easy and without the loss of patience. Wish I had your temperament lol! Can't wait to see more on the dually and of course, can't get enough of the vega. 👍 Thanks for sharing
good video. Took mine apart and found no spring, and the disk inside the end of the housing fell out. Hmm. not sure I need the spring but gotta figure out how to keep the disc part in.
Another informative vid! And even though I don’t have a problem with mine yet, I will reference this if I ever do, and even when I install my headers. Thanks man!
Great video. Wonder why the Vega uses a spring with this joint? Similar joints used at the other end of the steering shaft don’t use one. What’s different about the Vega column? Thanks!
I saw a few on amazon, but mine still had the spring. I didn't think to measure it when I was in there. Post that question up in the forums or the Vega Nation facebook group and someone should be able to get you an answer.
I don't know the application. Something from 2005. Most cars use a type of polyurethane calk. Maybe a shift boot for a manual transmission or a CV axle boot might work.
You did a fine job I found out. I may be missing a spring and a clip darn it. I just got a new boot but no clip nope nope no clip. Thank you.

Good job
Great video. My 1960 Chevy C-10 has one.
This is my project this weekend. You've justed saved me!
I've searched for the replacement part from a variety of sites. Where did you get your repair kit from?

Thank you! I don't mean to ruin the "magic," but editing can do a lot. More dually videos are coming.
Excellent video - thank you!

Cool..how would I find one for a 94 chevy c1500 5.0l v8 ..what would fit it
Cool
Don't forget there is a half moon on gear box shaft for clamp bolt to go through,,
Nice!
Keep the video coming 🤟
Thanks man
I have a 77 dodge w200/m880 that has this piece but it's attached to the steering column not down towards the steering gear box.
Manufacturers seem to just throw in these joints wherever. . . .
Thanks for this video. Only one I have found speaking about this. Helped me out. I'm assuming mine on my 77 will work the same way just up top.
This video is so helpful - even 4 years later. 1976 w200 here, finally found my parts with the hint towards jeep CJ5. Thanks!!!
Never saw the link to the pot couplet repair kit
It was from that jungle website. The links go bad. just plug the part number from the video in to google and see where you can get it cheapest.
Can u tell me where to get a steering pot coupler for a 73 Vega wagon
Some guys are swapping to jeep u-joinnts because they are hard to come by. I had this one to rebuild.

2005 steering column boot. Does not even show up on dealer computer drawings. Engine fumes get inside the car. Help..

For the record; this doesn't work on a 1990 suburban. The boot is way too small.
