Funny enough, the most detailed information about a snake I bought I got from a first time breeder. He kept record of every meal he fed, how the hatchling took it, sheds and all that - which he send of with the snake (a healthy and thriving animal). Personally, I feel most comfortable with breeders who actually know about the snake I want to buy. The more information a breeder is willing to give (and I mean by asking the basic questions and what they're telling you on their own accord), the more likely I found it you'll get a great and healthy snake. It's also a good thing to know about the snakes parents - you might get an idea what the snake you're interested in will look as an adult and you also see how the breeder is taking care of his animals.
100% there is nothing wrong with smaller breeders. They generally have more time and need to work harder to make the sale than a huge breeder. So you will almost always get a more personalized response from a smaller/new breeder. At the same time, many are still learning and have to take risks of bringing new animals into the collection, therefore there is a larger risk of you getting a disease from a newer breeder than an established one. I still say stay proceed with the larger ones with just as much if not more cautions. I personally target the medium sized, more experienced breeders. I’ve found it’s the sweet spot for me. I don’t have many question, nor do I care about the shedding records and all the little stuff. However, I do want a high quality animals from a closed or close to closed, disease free collection. They all have the pros and cons. It’s up to the buyer to make the choices that is best fit for them
well done ,,,, u is the snakemannnn ,,, i do appreciate that upcoming vid about the types of mites and the differences ,,,,,, congrats on your great works '
Great video! I'm really wary of breeders online, I have seen breeders with what look like a great animal, but then when you look at reviews you see all these nightmares. Like mites, dead on arrival, sick animal, breeder stopped communicating. So finding a reputable breeder big or small is very important. Thanks Jason!
Great video!!!! In conclusion, do research, don't rush into buying any kind of animals, animals are not to kill. spend time in knowing your breeder. ask plenty of questions because its a life, your buying, and need to think about the commitment you gonna be into. Ask = JASON !!!!!!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂😋😋😋😋😋😋
I have 2 male Burmese Pythons and other than checking if the poo is normal, I do not have any desire to hold it! I have seen owners of big snakes smash it with their hands to be funny. Others will hold it to show how huge it is. liked the video on how to choose a snake.
I really love your videos. I watched all of them repeatedly before buying my baby ball python recently and I'm going back through them again now that I'm going to my first expo next month in my hometown, because there is always something to learn and you're absolutely impeccable with your advice to your subscribers. We appreciate you Jason.
I bought a boa that is skinny she looks deflated as you just told us can you tell me how i can recover her lost whieght and if it is possible to recover?
There could be so many reasons why the snake looks the way it does. It could be anything from overheating during shipping to underfeeding, to a disease. Without knowing the seller and all the details, it’s too hard to give anything beyond a guess. First thing that I would do it at least soak in some warm water to hopefully hydrate.
Can’t wait to buy an IMG 🖤🖤🖤 I know they don’t come out all black but over time I’ve heard that get super dark. Hopefully when it’s time you’ll have some available 🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾
They can come out all black. Motley img usually turn all black. Even a regular img has the potential just depends on the img coming through. You can sometimes tell by how dark they get within the first few sheds.
@@KT-kn9vd roughly $1500. Just wait until people are selling their babies from this year's breeding season. I'd suggest avoiding hypo if you're going for all black. Hypo will stop some of the img from coming through.
@@Eternal-zj5dg yep that’s exactly the price range I usually see them going for. Thank you for the advice. I don’t want anything interfering with how black it’ll get.
@@JasonsExoticReptiles Really interesting, Jason. I directly add spring tails to all my tubs every time I change the bedding out. Keeps the waste smell down as they love python poop and urates.

I should have some really nice IMG stuff this season
When you say "wood mite", do you mean springtails?
No, these are actually wood mites. They look kind of like reptile mites but are a little smaller and harmless to you reptiles

👍👍👍
Looks more like a promotional video, all the animals u showed are all for sale..🤣
🤣
Actually the opposite. None of the animals I showed are for sale lol.
