    Thank you for this Billie 💚. I only recently realised that intonation is one of the main ways we communicate our true feelings in English. It's often not what you say, it's the way you say it !

    Hello Billie. I am struggle with pronuntiation ¨every¨ and similars, with ¨___-tion¨ in many words and finally, with ¨s and z¨ sound too. I appreciate all your lessons to improve pronuntiation skills.

    I love you so much my dear teacher
    Some days ago I had a phonetics exam and I can get a highest score by watching your nice videos. Thank you for helping and also teaching us.
    I really appreciate you.

    Great video. The slight rise at the end of the "bored" "Hmmm" sounded more "dubious" or "doubtful" to me. If I am bored "Hmmm" would be more abbreviated with a lower pitch at the end.

    1. Could you please tell me the differences between these terms in Phonetics and Phonology: pitch, intonation, tone, tune?
    2. Do the terms: the rise/ fall...tone/tune/intonation mean the same thing?
    3. Please help me with syllable division in transcription.

    • @BillieEnglish
      @BillieEnglish  Год назад

      Hello! Some great questions!
      I have a few videos answering them:
      What is pitch? ruclips.net/video/2iZRpHA4xII/видео.html
      The 3 Ts of Intonation (tonicity, tone & tonality): ruclips.net/video/1QR3zLzrqfI/видео.html
      Tone units & Tonic syllables: ruclips.net/video/nmyo3Nzi9L0/видео.html
      Usually, we don't show syllable boundaries when we transcribe. I am considering making a video on syllable boundaries soon!
