- Meet Your New Neighbours
From the creators of indie classics Machinarium, Samorost and Chuchel comes Creaks, a new puzzle adventure game that delights the senses with its hand-painted visuals, precise animation, eerie sounds, and an eclectic original score from Hidden Orchestra.
The ground starts shaking, light bulbs are breaking - and something rather unusual is happening right behind the walls of your very room. Equipped with nothing but wit and courage, you slowly descend into a world inhabited by avian folk and seemingly deadly furniture monsters.
Creaks takes you on a visit to a mysterious towering mansion, inhabited by eccentric avian folk and strange creatures, which may or may not be as dangerous as they seem. In their animated form, these monsters called creaks are deadly enemies you should always keep your distance from. However, as soon as you manage to trap them under a beam of light, they transform into harmless furniture that might be just as useful when you’re solving many of the game’s elaborate puzzles. Players will meet several types of creaks in the game, and each of them behaves differently - while dogs will chase you on sight and spies will copy or mirror your movement, the jellyfish-like creatures composedly patrol the area.
Inbetween individual levels and challenges, players will get to explore the house for a series of hand-crafted paintings, some of which were carefully hidden in discoverable secret rooms. About a third of the 35 collectible pieces are playable mini-games, taking on the role of little arcade cabinets in the aesthetic of 18th and 19th-century wall art.
For the first time, Amanita Design departs from their usual style of point-and-click gameplay and uses a more streamlined control scheme. Players will guide the hero directly using a directional pad or a thumbstick to descend deeper down the eerie house and interact with its many levers, pressure plates, bridges, and light switches.
A game inspired by the topics of ambiguity and pareidolia - the psychological phenomenon of “seeing things” - Creaks aims to surprise players with its diverse surreal environments, hand-drawn, hand-painted, and carefully animated, as well as refined puzzles. The visual art goes hand-in-hand with music from Brighton-based composer and multi-instrumentalist Joe Acheson, aka Hidden Orchestra. He delivered an eclectic score that adaptively changes based on your progression within each of the game’s levels and often drops the beat to celebrate the moment you finally figure it out. Instruments Joe used on this soundtrack, his first-ever work for a video game, are ranging from zithers and flutes to organs and choirs to modular synthesizers.

You know this game feels like a book I would read in my childhood. The art really helps to kick in the imagination when I was young. This game was so satisfying, like I read a good book.
Tuyoyami Omg I cant believe someone else feels this way! As soon as I watched this, some serious Nostalgia kicked in for me. And the more I watched, the more I was brought back to my childhood! I had some extreme Déjà vu while watching this but I couldn’t put my finger on exactly why???? The Illustration of this game was so very familiar, comforting and satisfying. I found myself being so relaxed as I continued to watch this.
Same here...This is brilliant.
What the title that book?
...or Wind in the Willows
yea reminds me of the roald dahl books i used to read alot
This is one of those games that didn't frustrate me, mostly because if you get stuck in a puzzle, all you have to do is sit back for a moment, watch what you have on screen, and think about it.
The solution comes to you if you're patient.
This games art style is awesome. The puzzles are clever and make you feel clever. It’s got a great soundtrack. Is both beautiful and creepy, but mostly charming. Had a blast. For sure recommend.
Thanks!! I feel bad for cheating 😂 but this helps when I get frustrated 😊
No one cares
@@jackweed4752 I do care with it
Same
@@AllsHeadbanGGer again you too no one care
If you had a dollar for everytime you said that to a boyfriend
What a beautiful, fascinating, mysterious, creative and charming game at the same time, really! I definitely gonna buy it!!
Its free but you gotta have apple arcade
But I have played the game ands its wonderful
That flashlight would have been real useful Huh?
Ikr
I kept thinking back to the flashlight through the game. Out of all the things to drop XD.
@@Zilkenian_Davenport Tbf I'm pretty sure only a certain _type_ of light can harm/freeze the object creatures. This is evidenced by the ending of the game, where only the light emitted by the blue gem thing can defeat the Manticore; if it were so easy, the Creaks (what I'm calling the bird people) could've just slapped any old flashlight together and shined it on the Manticore, but no they needed special light to take it down. The same likely applies to the goat chairs, dog drawers and other artificial animals, only a unique sort of light - whatever is emitted from the lamps that the Creaks use - can switch them from living to object, not just any old flashlight.
From the awesome puzzles to the beautiful moving pictures, I can safely say those 2 hours were worth the lack of sleep.
This has become one of my absolute favorite games!
1:28:57 this part was honestly really cute
I guess even weird creatures made from coatracks can find love. I’m happy for them.
I'm ready for the “$3x”
This is the first time I've ever seen this game, & yet I distinctly remember having a dream of this specific game play...strange.
It's because after exhausting the world of drugs with Chuchel, Amanita's had to move on to stealing people's dreams with a vacuum cleaner.
Its amazing how so many games now have such a unique and cool art style
seems like the indie games are really pushing the artistic boundaries while AAA games for the most part are still caught up on making things look photo-realistic.
@@newjack900 Yeah i wonder what makes possible these sudden waves of creativity, or have indie games always been this way?
@@newjack900I agree but photorealistic games are important too. Plus they want to appeal to mass market, and distinctive art style will always be polarising, no matter how good it is.
@@davidortega3968 Amanita Games has a game called Machinarium that came out in 2009. It's quite similar to this
thanks man!
there were multiple times while sweating blood when i had to look up what to do and your video was a big help! :,D
Great, Finally another game similar to Machinarium
looking forward to play this
This game is made by amanita design. Machinarium is one of their game. You can check another game like samorost, botanicula, and chuchel.
This is a great game, enjoying it so far! Their creativity is underrated! and THX FOR THE WALKTHROUGH~~
Who remembers MACHINARIUM?
GOLD.
What a gem of a game this is :)
Amanita. Definitely some of the most beautiful hand drawn 2D in all of gaming history. RUclips actually recommending a game you might like? Bananas.
I just finished the game with the help of your video. Thank you so much. That ending made me tear up. But I know that he can visit the Bird People anytime he wants since he has entry to their world.
Thank you! This helped a lot!
Personally, I really enjoyed this game- a lot! ❤️ The art style gives me a Tim Burton vibes and hidden door in the wall reminds me of Coraline!
It probaly did take some insparation to a certain extent
Thanks! I'm absolutely loving this "old school" style quest's!
(1:13:37) The music for this part is from a version of the Chessmaster chess game. It matched perfectly with Creaks, due to its strategist and puzzle character. The game is included in the list of Apple Arcade. Best game of 2020, after Doom Eternal.
I didn’t realize until the 1:48:00 mark that the giant creature is a cat and the others are birds. Everything makes so much sense now.
Thx for spoilers
@@GraxS Your own fault for looking at the comments _before_ seeing the rest of the video. Thank yourself for spoiling yourself XD
@@mrreyes5004 i finished the game already , now i now the giant is a 🐈
This has the gameplay of Knock Knock and the art style of Jacob Two Two and I love it!
44:50 Thank you! Got stuck there for a while, you are a lifesaver!
Man this guy is the smartest man i ever seen now this deserves to be subscribed and liked
Just finished the game. I. _LOVED IT._ thank you for the help, I got stuck a few times and needed a lot of help with some of the interactive paintings and finding the secret room.
Great game, 10/10 recommend.
41:08 I love how that elderly Avian didn't freaked out that there is a human spying on him. He's like, "Yeah, you! Can you get that book for me?" And he also returned the favor. Pretty certain that they have a large problem to deal with than to be freaked out by a stranger.
Spoilers!
...
That dance ending with all of the creatures made me happy. It seemed like they were just doing their jobs, and I'm glad they got a happy ending too.
This game is so underrated! I used your video a few times when I got stuck...thanks!
Soundtrack of the entire game should be "what a thrill" from MGS3, because there's so much LADDERS
It was a great game, a great experience. It was much easier than the other masterpiece, Machinarium, but sometimes I needed this guide. Thanks a lot to make this video. Cheers from Hungary 😃
the main character guy scratched his ass 20 times
me and my friends were counting
Can confirm
LOL!!!!! THIS IS SO FUNNY AND EPIC!!! ISN'T IT COOL HOW HE COUNTED ALL OF THESE!!???!?!??!??!!?!?!? REMEMBER TO LIKE & COMMENT ON THIS POST!!!
shut up boponthewee
Wow glad to see there is some ambitious developers in this field ruled by money and big concerns. It reminds me of Oddwrld Abe's exodus
this gives me some alice in the wonderland vibes
Amanita game developer's art style is very unique. So satisfying to watch and play .
I just had a thought. Wouldn't it be awesome if someone made a game from Neil Gaiman's Coraline? 😊
yess!
i’m here because i had no idea how to pass that level 31:30 😭 nice!
Thank you without this I might be stuck forever
My fav game, forever! No one can convince me otherwise (btw thank you) when I beat Creaks I was amazed…so happy for me the ending was kinda sad when the main character left, but I was very happy that for once in my life I beat something! 😂😭🤣 thank you!
Thanks for taking the time to make an awesome guide. Really helpful video.
This game ticks me off.... I am trying to just figure it out on my own.... But then I get soooooo mad! And I love it all at the same time. Rawr!
Its so nice that the birds has retrieve justice 😌
This video is exceptionally well done and formatted. I am reviewing the game at the moment and have bookmarked this in case I get stuck. Would you mind if I linked to your video on our website?
Of course I do not mind. More viewers are good for me.
Glad to be helpful.
Incredible game. Wonderful music for the soundtrack. I absolutely LOVE these types of games! The ending was a bit anticlimactic, but otherwise an amazing playthrough of a gorgeous, challenging, and very cool game. Thank you my friend!!
@RAVEN AK47 Little Nightmares is one of my favorites and super excited for newest version coming out in Feb 2021. Not familiar with A Ghost in the Tale though so I'll have to check that out. Thanks!
The whole game is just so beautifull. The storyline is amazing, and some moments made me really cry. I love the ending, when the [spoiler alert] cat/monster is defeated, celebration, leaving home and finally the end with the credits. Idk how abouth you but when you can see the mc just chilling after such long time, makes me really emocional. Anyways I love everything abouth the game. Amanita made really great job again. 🥺💝💖💝💓💓💕💓💕💓💝💖💝💝💖💝💝💖💕💓💕💝💓💝💓💕💓💕💓💝💓
Agree with you but very difficult this game needs a guide to finish it
Some of those paintings are like if Vincent Van Gogh was a Birdman
I'm so buying this game. It reminds me of Machinarium...good game for a rainy night ❤
it would make a nice movie! it was as fun to play as to just watch this unfolds 😍
Ladders : The Game. I love Amanita Design. Such an underrated dev.
It's the Laika of gaming.
I think this game was beautiful. The story and gameplay was good. After finishing this game I only needed 1 painting. I cheated only this time because I wanted all achievements from this game and I succeed. I recommend this game to everybody who likes a challenging puzzle game.
Me watching him finally find the book and the bird knocking it down and thinking achievement of the stalactites is the last level so I’m like I made it this far so it’s ok to cheat on the last level. 🤷🏼♀️I’m sure someone has a walkthrough on RUclips. Just to find out I’m not even halfway through the game😭😭😭. Something tells me I’ll be revisiting this walkthrough again shortly. 🤦🏼♀️🤣🤣
A beautiful background. I wish it makes a movie
I really enjoyed this game, Amanita did a good job, again. But I'm still waiting for Machinarium 2.
when I was a child I watch your same videos over and over and over again until I'm 9 years old today but I this watch you
thank you for playing and upload this for us.
Fantastic game with stunning graphics. It reminds me a bit of The Longing and the Gormenghast books
This might be my favorite out of all of the Amanita games I've played so far, no flaws at all!
Прекрасный игрофильм, полный приключений и опасности. Спасибо Вам большое за такие прекрасные видео.
thank you! it was very useful when I got stucked in a certain episode😅
Those dogs must be REAL scared of EVERY SINGLE ENEMY except you😂
Just about all of their games, are magical. I love'em!
A very powerful atmosphere definitely will watch to relieve stress
I think I’ll name our birb frens:
Yellow trumpet dude: Zacharias
Old book boi: Julius
Blue grl: Vicky
Pipe boi: Bob
Works 4 me.
That level at 43:00 broke me ngl. I knew I needed to try all possible combinations. Feels bad, my brain wasn't having it. Never played puzzle games tho, so there's work to do
Omg thank you!! I was stuck on this one floor for the longest time
Hello my name is ISABELLA and I’m 8 years old and thank you for doing this video it really helps me with doing this hard game ! 😍😍😍😍 by the way your really good at playing games just like my mom I hope we meet bye 👋
Finished this today. Thank you ❤
I that they should make the sounds that the birds in which they are based on makes, insted of that mumbling. For exemple, the one with the sling shot should talk like a hoopoe
Could not have done it without you Carrot Helper! Thanks.
amanitas-the guys are brilliant in their work
I’ve just completed this game. It was awesome, a huge piece of art 😍😍😍
I didn't come here to cheat, I came for the comments because this is the most popular video about creaks
Its like he's searching out the depths of his own subconscious the inner recesses of the heart.
If you love this game, give “Limbo” and “Inside” a try. Both a little darker in tone but still brilliant. “Inside” is an absolute classic.
Thank you for this, won’t make it without this video
Amanita design is really amazing
I personally think that these kind of games should as lecture at school or in education
This is the craziestgame I ever saw. Just thinking about how many ours they needed to make this, and where the heck came all those ideas!
Thanks the last one got me I had to watch it, I couldn’t figure it out, I loved it!
Game is great art is great music is cool, only thing that sticks out and i would change is the death scenes that pop up when you get caught by the bad guys.
BYE WHY IS THE GAME SO LONG- I THOUGHT I WAS CLOSE TO THE END I LOOKED THIS UP AND IM NOWHERE NEAR CLOSE
I think it’s rather hilarious that they released a crystal that explodes when they are merely inches away from it 😂
Just seen some occasions this OMG. WHERE HAS COMPUTING POWER GONE TO
A Big Thanks to the Makers and to you who played the game through to the end.
1:10 Uh no. You have a light bulb bursting in your hands. Your immediate reaction isn't to go on a fun-filled adventure, your reaction is "JESUS CHRIST MY F***ING HAND HAS SHARDS IN IT NOW!!!"
Ahh that bit at 29:00 had me SO stuck! Thank you!
This reminds me of a film called Mirrormask, awesome movie!
boring game with a gorgeous art, a huge stepback from Machinarium. Great Video, thx.
Almost complete it in one day and I haven't cheat/looking on how to pass some level. Well, untill I got stuck in 1:57:25. Won't give myself some spoiler tho (well ofc except for the part where I got stuck). The game itself is really fun and the puzzle are hella amazing. Then again this game was made by Amanita Design, and they always did great job in each of their games. The creative puzzle, the awesome world and art design, the sound design, everything from them are great. If you guys only play Machinarium or Samorost, then you guys are missing a lot of stuff.
I'm a kid and I love those kind of games and yeah.
Very good game but puzzles so hard most time for me,thank u for the help without u i can never finish it.
Well, huge thanks for you! I got stuck in the Egypitian room thing and spent hours trying to find the solution. It was so simple, aaaaargh. Again, thanks!!
Great game, but I thought it would have been easier, I basically played following your video 😂
1:58:03 I didnt know that you can switch those things on at the same time! So thank you for the video..
So I'm thinking bird lady created the giant cat thing, only whatever force she used to animate it went out of control, made it turn aggressive, and also animated some of the furniture and stuff.
This game runs brilliantly at native resolution on M1 iMac 8GB for anyone wondering. Beautiful game in 4K.
That room at 1:13:40 - I must have sat looking at that for 10 minutes before giving up and coming here. I completely forgot you can walk past the mannequins.
completed the whole game. one of the best game i have played. but looking for some more games like this one.
I did 50% of the game, then decided to just watch this walkthrough, because I love the visuals of the game, but the puzzles had these "not again" frustrating moments, and the story is so weird! This is basically what Amanita Design does! LOL
HUGE help, thanks :)
Not as hard as Machinarium, shallow puzzles but great environment as usually served by Amanita Studio, a true work of art.
The art mini games are hilarious especially if you're watching this on 1.5 speed or more
