Installing Bucket Seats in the Nissan Hardbody D21 | Flake Garage Pathfinder Seats

- Today we are going to the junkyard and get a pair of bucket seats from a 94 Nissan Pathfinder to try to install in Bryan's Nissan Hardbody D21. We managed to get lucky and find a seat that needed some TLC. If you need the small cushion pad, you can pick it up here amzn.to/3jVcdGk (Affiliate)
Buckets seats from any 1987 - 1995 Nissan Pathfinder are straight bolt on for the Hardbody
Mixture for wet/dry vacuum:
1/2 cup of detergent
1 gallon of hot water
That's all you need to clean your interior and leave it smelling good.

The sun is good for killin germs and such but down south you could put them in and that water would evaporate PDQ when the interior raises to the temp of an easy bake oven in the summer.looks great. I gotta do this. Short wife driving lessons. Great video. Thx for posting.

You should use dawn dish soap it works wonders.
Since you guy did such a great job cleaning the seats, you should have thought of getting some cloth paint and freshen up the color a little or change it to another color.
We actually like the red color in the truck so we are ok with how it looks right now

Hey @flakes garage I recently bought a 1994 Nissan d21 hardbody and I also bought similar wheels to yours, I’m now stuck on deciding the tire size. What size tires are on your d21? And do you recommend stretch?
We rocking a 205/40/16 on the wheels and have a mild stretch. It’s been working out great for the hardbody. Depends on the size of your wheels but a slight stretch ain’t bad or could always go for the meaty look but might have to watch for some rubbing

Yes the 95 pathfinder is the last year you can straight swap. The 96+ will not fit

You'll just need to watch out for any electronics in the floor. I believe there's an abs sensor module. Besides that, you could potentially rinse it out yes

You'll have to keep looking at ebay, rockauto, amazon for any of those to pop up. These trucks are old and most things are just not in one site if they have them at all

it wouldn't be a straight swap, you'd need to modify the bases

Did you have to buy more bolts because you’re going from 4 to 8? Or did you use the existing ones that were already bolted down when placing the seat bracket on top? I plan on doing the same conversion.
That’s a great question and you will need extra bolts. Since we got these seats from a junkyard, we took the bolts from the pathfinder donor with us and used them here. If you find them like us, definitely take the bolts, if bought from someone ask for them or you’ll have to get them at the store

Would the center console for the pathfinder fit between the seats of the truck?
Yeah I think it would if it’s the same transmission as your truck
Any recommendations for seats for a 720 singel cab I'm 6.1 ans I need some seats that won't take up much space
These pathfinder seats are not bad for a 6 ft guy talking from experience but if you wanted to have a little extra clearance you might have to go with a custom lower profile seat or perhaps a skinnier factory seat.Stone broke garage here on yt has a 720 and might be able to help you better with that question

Yes the buckets do sit a bit higher compared to the bench unfortunately. Most likely because of the padding on the bottom of the seat

I think it was a 14mm socket for the bench

Is there any noticable difference in legroom or headroom?
Bryan feels like there is more legroom compared to the bench and a little more headroom. I felt like it did make you sit higher than before

Good junkyard score! How come 96+ years are different tho, body styles look the same to me. Its 98 where they changed to d22.
They might look similar but from 96-00 is different specially when it comes to the seat mounting points. They are more closely related to the frontier than the hardbody. Specially on the point close to the trans tunnel. Can always give it a try but from what we seen, it will not fit

What bolts on to the mazda 1991 xtra cab?
You can straight bolt other extra cab bucket seats or the bench from the regular cab. Anything will have need custom brackets
@@FlakeGarage them wheels are same hub as mazda? Are the nissan hub bore same or bigger then mazdas?
@@FlakeGarage i have dodge neon buckets on my 91 xtra cab i dont know if they swapped out rails or??? Never really looked into it
Hub size is the same I believe as the Nissan and Mazda. Those seats are not straight swap so they might have added the brackets to it or made new bolt holes for them

They were off a 93 pathfinder
