Success! I am using FT8 and JS8Call on an external monitor with higher resolution. You can see the whole app window , not just the top part as on the sBitX screen. The correct settings were already in this apps when I started them. It is interesting that the frequency changes on the sBitX when you change the bands in FT8 and JS8Call. Thank you for posting this video.

nice video. I like keyboard to keyboard digital modes. I made lots of contacts on JS8 call. That another fun digital mode. Even working SSTV can be fun. Still a lot of SSTV on 20 meters. I just link my laptop to 7300 or Digi rig to a different radio and work digital. it is quite easy . and quite fun. 73

Check out the new SSTV hybrid mode called EZPIX.
Mainly on 20m but there is activity on all the bands.

This a real eye-opener. Thank you for putting this video together. Does anyone know the settings for WSJTx to similarly run FT8 in the WSJTx app instead of the sBiX interface?

Can you encode cw with the keyboard? Not just canned messages?

Yes, I believe that you must first press the TX key present in the fldigi program, if it is not set, you memorize it in the macro by writing only the PC switches the radio to TX, and then you can type on the keyboard and the PC transmits in CW. When you have finished typing on the keyboard, press the RX key and the PC switches the radio to reception; Also in this case if the rx key is not present, it is created as a macro by writing only

The keyboard links via Bluetooth built into the raspberry pi inside the sBITx. You can also use a direct wired USB keyboard and mouse, wifi, or Bluetooth. On the side of the radio you have all the pi USB ports for connecting devices.

I would already have ordered this radio if you'd not shown the deficient microphone. I'm just not young enough/vision wise to thinking about soldering up a plug and play replacement mic. If someone links to one that already exists that I can order I'll gamble on this radio.

Want to buy mine with this mic? $300 + shipping. I don't use it.

@@HamRadioConcepts I'll offer $200. Too heavy at 4 lbs for me and SOTA (old and weight bearing capacity diminished) considering I'd also have to pack a battery/tuner/etc. I just bought an FT-710 as base, need a SOTA rig, but am thinking 5105 simply because of all the Xiegus it's the least plague by demons......wait, hold the presses. Just discovered the CFT1. So simple it can't have demons haha! Needs an SWR and signal meter though.
