Christine said that Oh Daddy was about Mick who she was worried about, probably because of addiction and the divorce he was going through. Like most interesting songwriters there are layered messages, some of which probably reference her love interest at the time.
So you were right about the nickname! Thanks again guys for what you do. You’re one of the best reaction channels out there for certain.

Stevie liked this song because it gave her and Lindsey an opportunity to do “Everly Brothers”-style singing. She likes singing with him. Their voices pair well.
She got her due in the end. Silver Springs from The Dance was released as a single, and was a popular B-Side in ‘77.

Oh daddy to me sounds more like the previous iterations of Fleetwood like the Bob Welch days than any of the other songs. It’s almost like the three older members got together and said we’re doing a song our way. I doubt it, but it just sounds that way.

Oh, man! I haven't heard "Gold Dust Woman" in literally 10 years. I loved this song as it was my favorite song of the entire album. Thanks so much for resurrecting this music. It is wonderful and I always look forward to when you release another reaction. You two are the best reaction content producers out there.

My sister bought me this album for my birthday many years back. Actually she bought the cassette tape for my Sony Walkman. Didn’t ask for it, she just thought I needed it. Thanks sis. That along with T-Rex Electric warrior.
I agree, I’m sure I used to skip through Oh Daddy, it is a bit of a snorer.
Anyway thanks to my big sis this album does bring back fond memories. Especially of Sony Walkmans and getting my own back and buying my sister a football for her birthday.

Mick FLEETWOOD + John M(a)Cvie = "Fleetwood Mac" band name.. Peter Green, the original guitarist & band founder wanted to not be center stage and so named the band after the rhythm section, still in the band. Rumors still on my list of all time albums I still listen to from first hearing it in the 70's.

I Don’t Wanna Know was the song that was substituted for Silver Springs, according to the band in a documentary from the late 90’s Classic Albums.

Gold Dust Woman is by far my favorite song on a flawless album. Lindsey's layers of sounds at the end. Lots of guitarsand mostly him screaming with a little Stevie screaming, I think.
Oh Daddy was for Mick who was separated from his wife when she wrote this. Divorced by the time the album was released. He had an affair with Stevie during that period. They took comfort in each other for a brief while.
Mick didn't write any lyrics either. But we know how he sounds as he has done some acting, including The Running Man.
Fleetwood Mac was founded out of John Mayal's Blues Breakers. Peter Green was Eric Clapton's replacement. John McVie was the only player to have overlapped with Clapton. I find it odd that no one ever mentions that John McVie and Eric Clapton were in a band together before Eric cemented his name with Cream and John made his name in Fleetwood Mac.

@@MusicforBusyPeople Mick was the head of the resistance and Dweezil Zappa was his right hand man. So probably the only film with two rockstars and two future governors.

Thank you for the reactions, I always seem to hear the music in a different light, and appreciate the insight

12:54 the biggest tease snare hit ever. You want that beat to continue but Mick never does it again.

I think killing this song to allow for Silver Springs would have made the album far better. Between this and Songbird 😴 Gold Dust Woman feels like it could use Mick Jagger with Stevie. I suspect it’s about one of Lindsey’s groupies, perhaps the “women they will come and they will go” or “did you say she was pretty?” woman. Lindsey pretends he was monogamous. I don’t think so.
