Steve Smith Sr is personality plus - loved seeing him take us through this process. Swag, but humble. Also, much appreciation for all that referees do after watching this. Tough job!
Man I want to see Steve out there prepping concessions for the game. I'd love to go to concessions during a Cowboy game this season and see Steve's line 5 miles long.
This is the kind of content that I want to see. I LOVE the behind the scenes of the game that I’ve watched my whole life. Also Steve Smith Sr is the perfect blend of Personality and Knowledge of the game to host this! Cheers!
Love this. Don't know how the NFL would take the idea, but a show following a crew around for a season would be must watch and maybe help people understand how close some of these calls are/why refs make the decisions they make.
LOVE this look into how the game is officiated. Not only does it help educate us more on the rules of the game, but it makes us appreciate what happens in real time during a game. Great stuff and glad to see the series is back!
Absolutely love these Steve Smith inside looks at the various different jobs that all make up the NFL! He's got the perfect personality and character for it
This is actually so great, I hope this exercise happens more than just for a segment. I think it’d be helpful for more ex players to participate in these exercises.
Tyler was happy to see Steve! Fun fact. Way before being drafted into the NFL, Tyler Lockett said, the reason he plays the WR position is because of Steve Smith being his favorite WR growing up as a kid, and wanted to be just like him. Respect!
So you know, I didn't realize how beneficial it would be for a Referee to be a former player, but after seeing Steve Smith Sr explaining what he is seeing from a former player standpoint I can totally see the benefits of a referee being a former player. Can see things a referee who hasn't played cant see, which in turn will help with knowing what to look for and when. Pretty cool !
One of the best things nfl has released in a while. They should start a program for football athletes that either ended their career early or just got cut of age to work their way I to referee and you’ll grow the respect and the game overall with better more understanding refs
he always went hard man. He caught a game winning TD ball whilst getting annihilated. He broke his arm from how hard he got hit. I always loved his play.
That was great, both entertaining and educational. This should be a regular thing around this time of year. Either with Smith or a different player each year, but I feel like Smith just makes this extra entertaining. But having former players still be involved with the game, should be what the NFL continuously works at, year around.
I never realized the work that a referee does each game. Plus all the fitness that's included. I need to stop yelling at my tv everytime I see a bad call and remember that they, the refs, are only human too. Great video
This was great! I love seeing behind the scenes for this kind of thing and Steve is bringing the energy! I can't wait to see what other teams have in store. Mascot, Concessions, Janitor, Training Staff, Field maintenance, Museum guide. Show 'em all!
Humbling and cool stuff to see, when Steve was surveying the field/players and spoke on what he was seeing. You could clearly tell, he watched/studied film.
Steve would make a solid official. His first hand experience provides him insight into what receivers and defenders tend to do and what routes lead to holds and why.
I felt the same way watching Richard Jefferson ref Summer League.......LOVE the alternate perspective on the game. Forces you to view the game through another lense, and it's cool that it's Steve Smith.
Anytime someone complains about officiating, they should have to watch this or do a training course. Being an nfl referee is just as hard as being a player
Steve Smith Sr. is a dawg. From wideout to ref? It was awesome seeing him tell the players what will draw a foul and what won’t. He’d be a great addition to the officiating crew.
Very cool to see what officials are looking for and how they break down film as well. Might take it a little easier on the officials at my kids next football game!
these videos are really cool to see already, but as a Panther fan, seeing one of the OG great Panthers as the host makes it even better. I have loved Steve Smith for as long as I can remember and still wear his jersey any time I go to a game.
Yes. But one thing you never can see from film, is hot FAST everything is on the field. There is so much action happening within that few seconds of action and is is F-A-S-T. Blink, you miss it. Someone blocks your view, you miss it. Can't see through a player, you miss it.
Steve Smith Sr is the absolute best person you could have chosen to do this part in the show. Hes so entertaining. Also I have gained a little more respect for the refs...They aint off the hook lol But Ill give them a little break. its a tough job
When Steve gets thrusted into a "game" situation at the end of this video, you can start to appreciate what goes into this job. You can also see how Steve genuinely takes this seriously. He is part of the NFL family and makes the most of that opportunity helping others get some appreciation in that family.
I have 2, TWO, former College Teammates, who are NFL Refs. I've known a long time, NFL Refs have a very difficult job. Maybe not the Replay Official, but the rest of them do.
Mr. Smith! Loved you as a Panther cuz im a huge fan of yours and the team! Have you considered teying to be a head coach foe a day? An OC, DC, Special Teams? Od love to see you be a defensive coordinator to see what youd draw up against an elite twam like the Chiefs... #keeppounding
Bro Pete is hilarious. Steve is like a deer in headlights and Pete is relentlessly messing with him 😂😂😂
Pure gold 😂😂😂😂

he does beat his wife so lets not forget that
@@Mr.woman_lover ah yes ... reducing people to their lowest/worst moment
Yeah, that was stressful just to watch. Gained a lot of respect for the Zebras from this. SSS did a great job.
@@Mr.woman_loverwhen did he ever beat his wife?😂
@Mr.woman_lover you sounds like her sister or something 😂
Really wanted a second season of these. Quality programming.
Thank you for your support, we're just getting started!
Yesss!!! I enjoyed this and many others man. These are therapeutic to me
Man I want to see Steve out there prepping concessions for the game. I'd love to go to concessions during a Cowboy game this season and see Steve's line 5 miles long.
Steve Smith already completed the main NFL campaign and is now doing side quests
Who doesn't love a side quest?
😂
Lmao
Coach Carroll is funny as heck. Great video
Finally, a new one! Why don't we have this segment more often?
L😂L
Fr
Its should be a full show!!
He got a life
What He Said lol
This is the kind of content that I want to see. I LOVE the behind the scenes of the game that I’ve watched my whole life. Also Steve Smith Sr is the perfect blend of Personality and Knowledge of the game to host this! Cheers!
Thank you, I love giving back to the game that gave me everything!
Love this. Don't know how the NFL would take the idea, but a show following a crew around for a season would be must watch and maybe help people understand how close some of these calls are/why refs make the decisions they make.
Facts
Hard Knocks but for refs, would like that
LOVE this look into how the game is officiated. Not only does it help educate us more on the rules of the game, but it makes us appreciate what happens in real time during a game. Great stuff and glad to see the series is back!
I’ve gained a new respect for the refs frfr
Done believe what you see bruh

The seahawks facility is amazing
“Fine work on three” is the most Referee thing you possibly say😂😂😂😂
😭😭🤣🤣🤣🤣
I thought it was "FIND Work." 😂
Steve Carrol legit seems like such a good guy
No he hosts late night.
steve smith or pete carrol? 😂
@@pebble312 yes.
wow.. this episode was so fun. my favorite so far. i've always wanted to know more about how an officiating crew operates and what each judge looks at
Thanks for watching, we have more fun episodes just like it coming soon!
Would love to see the history of refereeing in the NFL and how its evolved over the years!
For sure!
Absolutely
This was a really cool look into a difficult job that gets no love.
STEVE SMITH SR IS JUST GOOOD AT EVERY JOB IN THE NFL! Would like to see him coach linebackers with the Ravens one time
Not only was he an amazing professional football player but would never back down to anyone on the field. He could never be intimidated!
One of the best things nfl has released in a while. They should start a program for football athletes that either ended their career early or just got cut of age to work their way I to referee and you’ll grow the respect and the game overall with better more understanding refs
Steve is a real one. Absolutely love this series with him. What a personality!

Steve Smith looked overwhelmed and surprised at the work the referees do, awesome show, can't wait for the next one 🙌🏽

I love Steve Smith. He’s one of the great men to be a representative of the game. Much respect 🙏🏿. Always have a notification on for this man’s.

I’m black and I’m not sure what you mean either.
Way to make it super racist .. just say man next time. He's a good man. Regardless of his skin color

I want to see Steve see what its like to be the owner of the Washington Commanders
🤣🤣🤣
Grew up a Panthers fan, been telling folks for years bro was the 🐐. Good seeing his growth and maturation and what he’s doing 💯
Steve is a treasure. Loved watching him play and his personality for this type of show is 1000% fire.
Welcome back! I wished their was more episodes. I love your honesty in the locker room.
This is awesome. Honestly Steve seems like the perfect guy for this stuff, hes does really great presenting everything like he was always a show host.
Thanks for watching!
I need Steve as NFL security at a rivalry game. 😂😂😂
As long as it isn't a NFC South rivalry game
Waiting on my security outfit as we speak!
Lmao! Hearing Steve tell another player “you need to keep your hands to yourself. Last time I’m gunna tell ya!” 😂
This was great! Great content on what really goes on behind the scenes with officiating. This entertaining as well!!!
13:58 that man is almost in his 80s and is just there trolling with a young spirit!! 😂 I wanna be like him at his age
This was great! I love seeing behind the scenes for this kind of thing and Steve is bringing the energy! I can't wait to see what other teams have in store. Mascot, Concessions, Janitor, Training Staff, Field maintenance, Museum guide. Show 'em all!

I love this series so much! Getting a new look into who makes the game of football happen and happen WELL too!
This was the first time hearing blitz the seahawk talk😳😳🤯
Steve would make a solid official. His first hand experience provides him insight into what receivers and defenders tend to do and what routes lead to holds and why.
4:07 this lady is in FULL GO mode.
Steve skits are one of my fav ones in nfl network.
I felt the same way watching Richard Jefferson ref Summer League.......LOVE the alternate perspective on the game. Forces you to view the game through another lense, and it's cool that it's Steve Smith.
13:34 yeh he’d be a good ref 💯 juss that simple but fair interaction wit Steele. I always appreciated refs like this when I played ball

"Keep your hands to yourself thats the last time im telling you"😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
YO DID THAT MASCOT TALK IN THE BEGINNING? Love you Steve
Being an official, it's a great way to stay involved. You can see Steve's experience in the NFL is really evident
As my favorite WR, and imo one the best to do it, there could not have been a better host for this series. Peak content. More!
love steve smith's positivity
Steve is perfect for these. His aggressiveness has toned down a lot. Cool dude
Love how Steve was genuinely interested

Love Steve Smith Sr, great person and father
Thanks!
0:30 Am i trippin or did the seahawks mascot talk??? 😮
Fr first time I hear his voice
Obsessed with Nate Jones! 😍
Happy the series is back!
Man really said “use with caution” whilst refs are out here throwing flags on every play for non existent DPI calls
Best Jobs episode so far! Wow, you can tell how humbling this was. Nice litte insight into the challenges of officiating
Steve taking it serious low key😂
Honestly feel having retired players ref would be awesome. They know what to look for
You did a great job Steve and looks like you had fun. You had a good teacher in Nate Jones! He's just an all around good guy period.
Pete Carroll and Steve Smith, uhh yeah fastest click of all time
These segments are great & I've been trying to get my kids to watch them. These all seem like pretty good jobs
Yeah I want more of Steve Smith please ☺️👍
