hello latif i follow you from turkey with love and i see your love for turks and the importance you show to our culture and i say long live the love of turkish and bangladesh peoples with my respects
Love ❤️ and respect
Here's an idea, why not create a Bengali Thali day.
Each vendor could serve directly from their shopfront door to create a buzz and with some bengali music blasting really promote the beautiful food. Would be easy enough to create a buzz on social especially with your great channel. Big family day, all welcome. Educate the masses and create new customers to make sure of tradition fruition!
Love your work as always mate all the best from Scotland.
P.S. tried shatkora for the first time after watching your vid. Unbelievably good!
This is brilliant, thank you for giving me an idea. I'll be visiting Brick Lane. Gram Bangla is on my to visit list. I'll even try that Chai Tea. Keep up inspiring, sharing and informing us with your cooking. I love all foods especially curries. God bless.
I was born relatively close to Brick Lane but live in Ireland now. A couple of years ago I visited Brick Lane as a matter of urgency with my wife and son as I had heard the the restaurant numbers were dropping sadly. We ate in Graam Bangla. The waiter took our large and varied order without writing anything down. I was convinced he would get something wrong. He didn't! I was so impressed - but I continued to be impressed with the quality of the food and also the friendliness of the restaurant. There seemed to be conversations going on between all tables and the staff - and we were very much included. Lovely food and fantastic atmosphere - it was like a big family dinner gathering! Such a shame restaurant numbers are dropping - I just hope it can be a well managed transition into something even better (that's a tough one) as the Cllr suggested it will be. Thanks for all the videos - they are superb.
Thank you for the lovely message
@@LatifsInspired by the way, I’m on a calorie controlled diet at the moment and my mouth is literally watering!!
I lived near in the 70s only two or three restaurants. I ate some things there I've never found elsewhere. Gorgeous murals, too.
Where is brick lane located ??
@@MK-gz1xt
London Aldgate East.
I worked at the brewery in Brick Lane all through the 80's. Your description of the kebabs in a puri with red sauce brought it all flooding back. We used to buy those for lunch for about 50p each. A favorite restaurant (well cafe really as had vinyl floor tiles and formica tables) was the 'Nazrul' because it was so cheap but the dishes were so authentic. I miss those days. Love your channel :
PS would love to see a recipe for that red sauce :)
Back in the late 80s and early 90s used to frequent the Lahore Kebab house on Commercial Road. Back then it was a small little place. We used to wait in our car to be called to a table. Loved the Lamb Kofte curry and enjoyed with plenty of roti bread and chappatis. Now the place has taken over the whole building.
I'm sure you could shut the street and put tables outside to fit more of us i would come
What a brilliant vid! Love the history with you and your mate. We all love Brick Lane.
Bangla British history, even my kids are watching this with me.
Bless
Was in Brick Lane 47 yrs ago at a wonderful street market and bought a Hugh Teddy bear for my daughter who is now 48!!

Took my wife to Brick Lane just a few days ago and I was telling her exactly what you and the counsellor said.

I loved your new format bro, showing us a little bit of the area and history with a bit of discussing before the main event cooking and tasting the food. Great work bro!
Great insight in to Bangladeshi food.
Yes very well said latif bai excellent at gram bangla
Great episode. Lovely that you could enjoy your traditional food.
Good video loads of delicious looking food and a nice group of friends doing the good things in life
Anthony Bourdain vibes. Love these deep dives.
Went down South for a football match all the way from Rochdale, we dined at Gram Bangla cooked by celebrity chef Attik.
Gotta admit, it was the best food we ever tasted, every dish was out of this world especially the borthas.👌😋 👏👏
Thank you for sharing a little bit of your childhood, mouthwatering food as always, specialty the fish curry!
Best place to get a curry outside of Glasgow. Oh, and Latifs.
That profile picture of yours mate oh my days.....is that your own brand of "soft drink"? 🤣🤣
@@armanhabib1173 yeah. its £1.99 a litre

@@Jaffer_cake 😃
I love this video.... you guys look well handsome 😍 lol
Great vid Latif
This is now my favorite channel 🎈
Same thing is happening in Manchester, Latif. Our curry mile (Rusholme) was full of curry houses..it's mainly Middle Eastern/Shawarma restaurants now. I'd imagine with the younger generations going to college/University..they are going down different career paths and not wanting to take over the family businesses ? Leaves no option but to sell up. Great video..the food looks 👌🏼 👍🏼
Yep. Heard quite a few people from south Manchester say Curry Mile is now the Shisha Mile. Used to be little Punjab now it’s Kurdistan
Whose to blame? Ok der gens mostly were arrogant af, not teaching the younger ones from 2000s well. The chefs are snobby af, inside the kitchen its full of bad talks and village mentality
BAKCBITTING is the downfall of curry houses. Youngsters get scared how the mentality is inside. Hence why no new gens wants to go deep into it other than waiter job on weekends as work experience or pocket side money.
@@hassymiia6267 So true! Experienced this myself when i was a kitchen porter at my uncle's restaurant. There were regular arguments between the head chef and the tandoori chef. So much tension in the kitchen!
Before I left Manchester in 2008 I could see the transition starting to happen. Going to Wilmslow road was amazing as a kid and one of the reasons I'm obsessed with Indian / Punjabi food now.
Getting a little of the history old & new, chatting with locals, plus tasty food. Yes please, jobsagoodun Latif.
Just subscribed! Just watching you meet 'Shams' and your childhood pal at Brick Lane-Monsoon. You have a nice easy going manner. Great video. Credit to your family.
Amazing as always! Will visit soon 👍
Food looks amazing. Well done.
Being a bengali female I used to pass the Bangladeshi restaurants thinking it's just food for old Bangladeshi men. So thank you for changing my perspective and can't wait to sample the delights😋
Brother latif well done
Latif, you're the kitchen & cooking Master! You're brilliant @ all you do within that kitchen!
These behind the scenes videos are great fun to watch, so please keep them coming.
So nice to hear the varying stories and meeting all the interesting people.
Thanks for your time & for sharing your wise cooking guidance & your great skills with us.
Peace bro.
Im new here and not even 5 mins through the video and your already my favourite youtuber!
Thank you for this video bhai. Keep up the great work!! My reason for going to London is because of Gram Bangla! Best food place in UK. My kids are very fussy eaters and I wasn't suprised them saying, can we take back some of this food home!! We usually book our hotel near to Brick lane because of this particular restaurant. Homely style, bangladeshi cooking within the heart of Bangla Town. Spoke to Atikur bhai not so long ago with the great quality of dishes he provides! Wish there was another branch like this locally, in Birmingham!! Joy Bangla Joy!!🇧🇩🇧🇩
Bless
Fantastic Latif amazing
Brilliant video my Brother from another Mother, Absolutely superb, Something different out of the box, love it... Just one thing, Would love to see more of the shopping for ingredients and prices in Asian shops... Keep er lit my Man
To be fair bro the prices of Asian
Spices and ingredients for the
Different types of dishes are way
Cheaper over here in Birmingham...
Maybe abit higher in the London
Area
Dude, probably the best channel for the genre ESPECIALLY for BIR,which is important for me as I'm an Expat Sth Londoner living in Edmonton Canada and tbh it's not the same here,I'm not sure whether it's that they dont have the Chefs I'm really not sure.Having said that please keep up the good work as it's a link to my homeland of Brittania:0)
And here's an idea for you to create more content.Try reaching out to places outside of the main cities. Before I emigrated I lived in a Leafy stock broker belt village called Lingfield in East Surrey nr Gatwick Airport. It has a superb restaurant called The Bengal Village, the owner was always complaining he couldn't get the Chefs from abroad eh
What a beautiful and special occurrence. Thanks a mill for the invitation to join you all🙏🏻
Beautiful blog thanks for sharing

Would love to visit but my husband has been ill for over 40 years its impossible. So the closest I will ever get is watching you Chef Latif via the internet. I feel sad for myself, you don't need to tell me I'm being selfish.
Great video Abdul
Fantastic video! I've been following your channel for some time and the videos are always informative and entertaining. Thank you

I used to work off Brick Lane back in the mid 80's. It's changed for the worse, got very tourist and many of the original Bengali restaurants have gone. It used to be cheap, original and you bought your own beer. I remember eating off one of the side streets and there were just 5 tables, it was like eating in someone's front room. I liked the flock wallpaper which had sadly gone!
One day I will make the journey from Scotland to Stoke on Trent. Nice one Latif. ps: can someone send chefs to Perthshire because it's a desert land of decent curry.
That beef nihari looks amazing! I so need some of this latif 👍
Omg this takes me back I worked in brick lane 1977 so many first times, my first saveloy first kebab, funny no curry back then my first curry was in Bradford it was like a cafe Formica tables back then ,popadoms were free the curry was not like todays BIR more basic not really for the English lovely if only I could go back
It's looks delicious
