Back in the day, the Hoyt-Schermerhorn St. station was one of the most dangerous in the NYC. There was a long tunnel that you did not want to get caught in alone on the wrong day. I went to high school in the 70's in that area. I don't live in NYC anymore, but still have found memories of ungentrified Brooklyn.
Wow thats shocking but really paints the picture of how gentrified the area has become!
